Red door takes the cake for all escape room experiences. I have gone twice playing "Prison Break" and "Fair Game". Staff are also super professional and friendly. While the games are pricey, they are worth the one hour mind challenging experience. Clues can be right smack in your face. Creative thinking and brainstorming is a true master mind so be sure to bring friends and family. While adding more head count can be challenging, it can also be a huge pay off OR it can go either way, to make or break the game. Before you exit, book your next visit for 20% off. I can't wait to try "warriors way". Allegedly, this is the hardest but funnest game.

Last week I hosted a team building event at Red Door Escape Room in Concord. Our team did the room "A Warriors Way." We had an absolute blast. I won't spoil the room, but it was very creative and really forced our team of eight to think critically and communicate. I checked in with each team member and we all were in agreement that this was challenging and a lot of fun. I would also like to shout out the crew of Red Door in Concord. Everyone was enthusiastic and friendly. They guided us through the waiver process and explaining the rules of the room. They also suggested timely hints and did a great job of encouraging us to work together. I would absolutely go back and would highly recommend to anyone considering going.

Ask the Community - Red Door Escape Room

Can little kids go?

Yes!

What is the best room for a beginner dad and a 7 year old son? Preferably if there are buttons to press, he would love that.

Are all of the games multi-room? Wondering about Once Upon a Time specifically.

Yes, Once Upon a Time consists of more multiple rooms.

Has anyone ever done the warriors way? If so how difficult was it?

Hi Yaretzi! Warriors Way is a great episode for first time groups of 2-6. It's not easy, but it a good level of challenging. You'll start broken into 2 sides of a Japanese garden that touch each other and you'll have to communicate to reunite and… Read more

Are there any escape scenarios that would be appropriate for kids under 10?

Hi... I see that this is an older post but... I just went with my grand kiddos (girl 9, boy 6) and we did the "Fair Game" room. We had a super fun time! None of the four of us were bored! We loved it and can't wait to go again and try the "Once… Read more

Is the escape room appropriate for a 12-year old boy?

Yes, I think it's great for kids and families.

Any tips for those who have done the Fair Game room? I need to win ... haha!!

This room definitely takes teamwork! Many of the activities require at least 2 people working at the same time. The games there are not just for decoration; they all can and need to be played. The trick is knowing when to ask for help; if you… Read more

Is it possible to accommodate a big group of friends we want to do 9 girls vs 8 boys?

Hi Cathleen, absolutely! We can accommodate groups up to 50 at one time at our facility. Please feel free to reach out to one of our awesome front desk associates so they may further assist you in planning the specifics for your group and answer any… Read more

Is there a time limit to escape the room?

You have 60 minutes to escape, except for the Last Stop minigame which is 25 minutes

I was wondering if we have to book an appointment or would it be possible to do a walk in?

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

I've been to Diablo Escapes twice now and have always been impressed by the customer service. Make sure you get there 15-20 minutes early so you have time to finish any waivers and get your packs set up for the room. There is an adjacent parking lot so you shouldn't have any issue finding any spot. You can easily book online and see what difficulty level each game is. If you've done VR or escape rooms before, you can probably start with intermediate. Each game will require some communication and teamwork to solve challenges or other puzzles. It can get a little hectic, so make sure you mesh well with your group (truly). The VR component really makes you feel like you've been transported to another place - be warned that it can make you feel a little queasy if you're not used to it, but the staff are great in making sure you are comfortable. They're quick to help troubleshoot if you get stuck or anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun group outing. We went over to philz coffee after and then went to Bare Bottle Brewing for some lunch and drinks.

Sorry, I can't remember anyone else's names. Puzzles are both clear and challenging at times, the narrative is very interesting and provokes discussion both during and after, and the prospect of decisions affecting later Chapters is very interesting. One of the most engaging and interesting Escape Rooms I've ever done. Although you might find cheaper Escape Rooms out there, Off the Couch Games offers a more unique experience that I think definitely gives you plenty of entertainment for your dollar. I eagerly await Chapters 4 and on. Only room for improvement I can really say is signage. If you miss the banner and front door on your way into the parking lot, you may get confused, especially at night.

The staff does a really good job introducing you to the game, providing context, and giving an overview of the rules. Additionally, they mentioned that we'd receive a discount off our total based on how quickly we finished, which was extra encouragement for us to get through the game. You immediately get immersed into the game before even walking into the actual room and once you're in Occam's Apartment, it feels even more real. The room itself is well decorated, with nice details scattered around the apartment. I loved every minute of the escape room experience and felt challenged throughout the time we were there. We did ask for hints throughout our time there and the answers were often given through directional questions. What I liked most about the Off the Couch set up is that the escape rooms are all a continuation of a storyline, so it makes you feel invested in the experience. I'm looking forward to the next escape room!

There is a photo op with various props in the corner of the lobby as well as branded apparel for purchase. We were told that we had three free clues, and any more would cost us time (you can do social media for extra time). We attended wizard school, which is rated medium/hard (same as the other ones at this location in Livermore). Based on the theming, bringing a Harry Potter fan in your group is mandatory - it's filled with tons of references to the series which was pretty neat to see. The first room we were in was surprisingly huge and intricate, and was also the room in which a majority of the game takes place. We solved the first several puzzles relatively well after we took some time to take in everything. It felt immersive, like we had been transported to a magical room in an alternate universe opposed to just a room that was decorated. The puzzles utilized pattern recognition, literal interpretation, symbols and translation, listening to instructions, riddles, interaction with room elements, hidden object games, astrology, and more. We've been to a few different escape rooms, and consider our experience at Limitless Escape Games to be one of the hardest we've done. You can tell one person put a lot of thought, passion, and ideas in the puzzles, as they were quite detailed, clever, and cohesive - progressing through the puzzles aided to the storytelling. That being said, the structure seemed a bit linear in that we had to focus on one puzzle at a time and couldn't do much until something was resolved. Our party of two ended up failing out of wizard school pretty horribly, as we just spent too long on one of the puzzles and didn't want to take a clue out of stubbornness. The puzzle we were trying to solve was... lagging. As well, we asked for a hint but didn't get it for a couple minutes because they weren't paying attention. Our game master kindly showed us how to resolve the rest of the room, though, and made us feel better by letting us know that the escape rate is roughly 1/3. He also told us that their other locations feature more high-tech rooms, such as the ones in Pleasanton which we hope to try in the future! We were offered a discount for the rest of the day if we wanted to book future games, which was basically the same price as their Groupon. While disappointed at our failure, we did really enjoy the thoughtfulness of the theming and puzzles offered here which do differ drastically from escape room chains. I'd say this experience was a lot harder than the typical escape room, so I wouldn't recommend it for complete beginners; that being said, it's amazing if you want a challenge!

We did the Bank Heist Escape Room which had some challenges in there. My group of 9 finished in the last 17 minutes, just a few minutes short from the record. But we all had a great time, I'd love to come back and try their other rooms. I do regret missing their photo op accessories in the corner, I meant to return to that area to get a group photo and totally forgot. IDEA: Perhaps they can move their photo op accessories toward the escape room exits for people to capture their photos there.
