My favorite diner in Toledo, hands down. I only wish i were open for dinner! The breakfast is superb, and you can't go wrong with any of the Mexican egg dishes. None of the staff were correctly wearing their masks, the kitchen staff weren't even wearing masks. Tables and menus weren't being properly sanitized after customers. Our server had her mask dangling below her mouth and preferred to gossip with the other servers rather than take our order. Executive Diner: 1) Great for breakfast or lunch 2) Has reasonable prices for adult beverages 3) Has a huge menu. 4) Has a patio 5) Is way better for food than Friendly's ever was a) Its where Friendly's used to be near Douglas and Sylvania. 6) Has good staff a) The cooks have a friendly and fun banter with each other, and the wait staff. 7) Kids meals are a good value and price, include drink for 3.99 8) If the parking lot is full, the restaurant probably is too. I really like Executive Diner. Its the type of place we need more of. Only took off 1 star because there was a hair in one person's omelet in my party. They did a rush order to replace, and only inconvenienced us a few minutes. They did a bang up job serving a party of 7 with 3 small kids. It is a bit of a squeeze with a group that large but its a great diner. If you have to wait a few minutes for a table, its worth it. They are super fast with service, and turn them over pretty quick. read more

As a SERIOUS brunch-goer (hehe), I have MUCHO respect for Executive Diner's menu, brunch drink availability and the fact that they stay open late enough for me to actually eat brunch on Sunday (they close at 3PM). All the servers are very friendly and have a good sense of humor. Ate there at 7:30 AM Saturday morning. Hardly anyone there that early. I tried the spinach and feta omelette and it was delicious. It comes with toast and home fries for 7.99. Service was perfect and coffee was good. When I strolled out of there an hour later, it was packed. Highly recommend it. read more

What took me so long to get here? Nice, clean and comfortable place. My waitress was great (and hot, not that that matters, but still, ok?) Had a big ass breakfast and a double shot screwdriver and only came to 13 bucks. Granted, their top shelf is only Skyy, so that's a bit disappointing, but I got over it. The best homefries I have ever had in my life. Not all soft and greasy like at so many places, these were big and crispy yet tender and still had a bit of grease like you need. Good stuff Maynard. Menu says pancakes are served with butter. Plate came with some sort of disgusting butter flavored shit. I asked if I could have real butter (as menu claims that os what you get when you order this)....amd I got butter. Does any restaurant ever serve actual maple syrup or is it always some fake flavored syrup? Veggie skillet came with onion and green peppers as the only vegetable. The worst thing about this visit was my indecision on what to order as everything coming out of the kitchen made me drool. I settled on the divorced eggs and kept spooning it onto my boyfriend's plate so he could experience the greatness as well. The food was very good and the portion size was generous for the price. The staff were nice but our mugs were dirty, so we had to ask for replacements. That was a little disconcerting right at the beginning of our meal. I highly recommend the chicken cordon bleu omelette. read more

I have sampled over 60% of the menu and the only disappointment is that my coffee cup doesn't refill itself. The wait staff is friendly, genuine, and very attractive. The cook staff is knowledgeable, loud, comical, and masters at their craft. Nestled in the old Friendly's Restaurant building they are easy to miss, but more than worth the discovery. Been there twice and both times experienced issues with service. This time around, either our order was not placed correctly or the cooks only processed half the order. We heard the waitress asking for the Vegetarian Omelette (my wife's) twice over the course of 10 minutes. Did that mean my order was sitting on the pass that entire time? The waitress refilled my coffee once, but never let us know that things were running late or anything. Just other customers coming in after us and getting their food while we waited. Four tables were served before us that came in well after us. We walked out after asking for the bill for our drinks. Respectfully, they did not ask us for that to be paid. My family and I used to love this diner, but the cleanliness has steadily been going downhill. The worst restrooms--filthy and smelly. I always think of the fact that the employees--who are fixing and handling my food--are also using the unsanitary bathrooms. I just can't take restaurants that aren't concerned with the general appearance of the dining room--it makes me wonder what goes on in the areas I can't see. read more

The service was fast, but my omelette came in a puddle of water. So gross! I couldn't eat it. My husband's eggs were the same. How do they cook their food that their eggs are served in water? Never seen anything like that before. I rarely complain about restaurants, but not knowing how to cook eggs is unacceptable in a Toledo diner. Too many other great places to eat breakfast. It seems that over the last 3-4 months we have been disappointed in the quality of the food more than we were satisfied. For example, there is a discrepancy on the number of sausage links you get on any given day. Sometimes its 3 - sometimes its 4. Make up your mind. If there is a problem that we bring to the staff attention (for example: missing an ordered item, item cooked incorrectly), it seems to be corrected begrudgingly). The oatmeal has been lukewarm the past three times. That is no longer one of my dining choices. Could it be that our business is taken for granted because we go there so often? I realize people have off days - but fix the problem when it occurs - don't get upset with the customer - or go ahead - get upset - but fix the problem. The service is still good though. read more
