Absolutely the rudest Don't worry we'll never set foot in your place again You did us a favor by telling me you were closing Stay closed. I'd give ZERO STARS but the app won't allow it Much better place just a few minutes away. Hard to mess up a diner but they sure do read more

Below average food taste, prices are too high for the quality, service was an absolute joke. Our waitress was horrible... Orders were wrong, or just flat out forgotten, brought out appetizers without any other plates and gave us a hard time about splitting the check before ordering Wouldn't recommend and won't be returning. read more

Excellent food and great coffee= A Great Diner! I had the French Toast and eggs breakfast with bacon, ham,and sausage. It was the best that I have ever had - my friend tried the sausage and actually took the other one off from my plate it was so good!!! I live in upstate (Saratoga) and it is worth the drive! read more

An ok diner. Not great not bad, but right smack dab in the middle. Service was ok, the grilled chicken triple decker was a good size and a fair price, but wasn't the most amazing dish I've ever had. The sweet potato fries were quite good though I must say. Overall, it was convenient and a fair price. Would I come back? Ya I would but only if I was near by. Can't say I'd go out of my way for it though. read more

Meh... that is the best way I could honestly describe the food, and experience at the Executive diner. Located right off the parkway, it is convenient, but it is lack-luster. Average diner food with average decor. Staff is alright, and it seems fairly clean. You will not leave disappointed, but you will not be eager to return. Omelettes and burgers are always a safe bet while visiting. read more

This diner has clean bathrooms and no visible dirt in the dishes or silverware. No fights broke out during this meal. The server was polite, attentive, and truly seemed invested in refilling our coffee. The food took a bit of time to come out, but as the old saying goes, you can't rush mediocracy. Overall will I choose to go back? Possibly. Will I be hungover when I make that choice? Probably. read more

Poor service highlighted this visit. We had to keep getting the waiter's attention for any kind of service and they didn't seem to care when we told them we were pressed for time and there on a lunch hour. The food was mediocre, typical COVID-era light diner fare. Nothing special here. read more

Really bad. I came here for a coffee and dessert. My decaf coffee was not fresh and tasted like tar. My lemon meringue pie was like rubber and chewy - yes, chewy. I couldn't even eat it because my fork wouldn't cut through the meringue. I asked for a different pie, apple, and it also tasted old. Other than the waitress being sweet as could be, I feel I was robbed. I should have known this was going to be a classic failure when there were only two other patrons in the whole restaurant. I felt sorry for this place. read more

Terrible service...rude waitress. Dirty utensils. Do yourselves a favor & Eat else where not worth going into this diner! management didn't care to hear of unpleasant first and last visit. Run ! read more

My parents and I used to come to this diner throughout my childhood. I came back recently to find it the same as it was 10 years ago: disorganized, with poor service. I was seated for 10 mins before a waitress even acknowledged that we existed, and even this acknowledgement came with an attitude..."I guess I'll take you guys too". We sat for 10 minutes in a diner on a Sunday and didn't even receive water. That should say enough about the executive diner. To be short staffed is one thing, but to have such poor service and then also a bad attitude is repulsive to customers. Maybe I'll give it another go in another 10 years. Until then, I'll be at the Thornwood Diner, not even 10 mins away. read more

Food was fine. Pretty standard diner fare but the service was sub par. Waited a few minutes for hostess to sit is at a table then waited again to order. We were ready to check out and all three serving staff failed to check in on us sure to their preoccupation with magazines and cell phones. Like I said no real problem with food but don't expect much TLC read more

I am going to be returning next week to try the breakfast here. I believe the breakfast at a diner says a lot about the place. I have only been here once so my review is based solely on that one experience. I went around 10pm on a Sunday night. I love 24 hour diners because I party on the weekends and like having a diner to go to around 4-5am. Pros - Open 24 hours. - Very clean and spacious. I hate eating on top of other people. - My italian wrap was delicious. The chicken cutlet was awesome, with the marinara sauce, peppers, and cheese. - The potato salad was absolutely tasty. I am very critical over potato salad because nothing tastes as good as my moms homemade potato salad. However, their potato salad surprised me and ended up being very good. - The fries were crispy - the way I liked them. - Mozzarella stickers were crispy, cheesy and delicious. Cons - The service was slow. Not sure if they were understaffed but for an empty diner it was very slow. - The waiter was somewhat rude. I asked for bacon in my wrap - (thought that was normal since I was having chicken cutlet in my wrap) and he made a face and said "oh really." Seemed annoyed and acted like I was asking for something outrageous. - When bacon arrived it was undercooked. - My milkshake was warm??? Very confusing for me. - The prices are higher than most diners here. $11 for chicken tenders.... Overall, I am not sure what to think of this diner based off my one experience because there were so many pros and cons. I will try one more time for breakfast before I have a set opinion on it. read more

My gosh, I wish I read the reviews before coming to this place. This is my first yelp review I was so appalled and disgusted by the quality of this place I had to speak my mind. For a diner that is convenient next to the parkway one would think its a promising place to have lunch but, all I received was disappointment. While the parking is good and its a pretty decent size for a diner there were some flaws with the food. Staff was somewhat nice, the waitress didn't come back to the table frequently the place was not packed by the way so its questionable as to why she didnt come back after I made the complaint. Pretty sure she r e a l l y thinks we placed that hair there. The waiter serving the table next to us was actually ALOT nicer with us and in fact served us most of the time being there. The food didn't take too long to come out but, when the food came out the first thing I noticed was a hair in my food. I immediately told her and she stood baffled saying the cooks had hairnets and gloves that it could be the packets the fries came in& looked at me as if I was the one that placed it there :/ So not only did my food arrive with hair but, you mean to tell me the fries are frozen?? & dipped in old grease. My triple decker was ... well it was just eh, the grilled chicken was dry though and when I mean dry I mean the mayo I had asked for was the only thing saving this disappointment of a sandwich.Bacon was underdone, raw. The price for two meals is costly I would understand if the meal was at least good but this was a shame. Will not be going back.No wonder theyre looking for a cook and server not only did the employees leave but My appetite has as well after being there. You want old food? make you sick to your stomach? have someones gross germs and bacteria contaminating your food? then definitely go if not I DO NOT recommend this place and agree with all the reviews giving one stars DO NOT go. read more

Executive Diner - Diners Near Me - Hawthorne, New York

Planned on eating in NYC after a Broadway show only to find that most places were closed or closing soon. We decided to hit a diner in Mt. Kisco that we knew was open late, but decided to stop here instead. It was just after midnight and they were open til 1:00. The place was empty and most of the staff was sitting at the counter. We ordered quickly and ate just as quickly because we were starving. Burgers were decent, but nothing that would make us come back soon. read more

A-OK for local diners, maybe. Let's face it, in this part of the world there's not a lot of choice for lunch. No 'Just Salads' or Chop't Creative Salad Companies or even Cosi sandwich shops. I live and work halfway between two 24-hour diners where the only safe things to order are scrambled eggs and tuna on rye. Even an omelet can be burned and dry, accompanied by greasy fries. Yesterday, after getting hungry running errands including shopping at my favorite nursery, Rosedale, on 9-A, I took a chance at the Executive Diner, across the road. I took an even bigger chance on ordering the special Caesar salad with grilled chicken special that comes with a half-cup of soup and a drink for $8.95. Surprise! The matzah ball soup was better than Aunt Rochelle's: a fluffy ball in a tasty, herb-infused broth. The chicken was shockingly juicy. The salad was fresh, with a nice dressing. Decent coffee. Lots of people have yelped about their bad experiences at this place. I'm willing to try it again. Maybe restaurateurs, even diner owners, pay attention to these reviews and improve their food and service. read more

Inconsistency rules here. Visited numerous times over years resulted in hits and misses. In one sitting service can be fast then you're forgotten. Food which s/b hot can be expected to arrive warm or even cold. We've seen waitresses and managers argue in public as anything's possible here. Having said that the place - off of 9A - is large and quite often packed so they're doing something right. I personally prefer the Thornwood Diner - much quieter and no one yells... read more

Absolutely terrible. The food was bad. Ordered a patty melt, fries, and a Coke...diner food, right? The patty melt was horrific and inedible, the fries were older than my 3 year old son, and I never saw my Coke. Had to drink water. Don't get me wrong, I hate diners and always have low expectations for them, but this one lowered the bar. read more

Had a pretty good lunch here. I got a grilled chicken tex-mex sandwich. It was delicious, but so very messy. Besides the chicken it came with cheddar and chili. The bun just wasn't up to the challenge. Eating it was a bit of a chore, but it was very good. The fries were golden and delicious. About the only thing I didn't like was my waiter. He got my coffee, I had no sugar, so I tried twice to grab his attention and he just walked away. I ended up getting my own. The waitress working that area saw this and basically took over for him. She brought me a newspaper and more coffee and sugar. He came back with the check, so I'll bet he took the tip. I just have to say to that very nice waitress with the Irish brogue thank you so very much. read more

This place is really sad. It used to be a decent diner, about 10 years back. Unfortunately it has declined, maybe the diner movement is no more and business has suffered resulting in cut backs. Don't waste your time unless you really want a diner burger with some steak fries, if they haven't switched over to the generic cheaper frozen "crisp" fries at this point in time. read more

So I came for a milkshake, a diner classic. It was served in a regular glass even though they had milkshake glasses. Not great I'm afraid. The waiter at night is simply a jackass. He had to come back to the table to double check my order because he was fooling around with a fellow server. Instead of immediately getting me my coffee as most good servers would, he f'd around on his smart phone with the manager for 6 minutes until I had to get up and tell him that I was thirsty I will not be back to this place! read more

I went here yesterday with my sister due to having to wait for my doctor to finish a surgery. my food was cooked wrong and when remade it was mediocre , a frozen burger patty still cooked wrong and the same old fries that were on the first plate but were now cold. but whatever. The real issue started with the desserts. I was first told they had something and then witnessed the waited cutting a different cake for me. I went up and investigated and was told they didn't have the one I wanted originally ( so you just substitute? umm what is I was allergic ir didn't want that?). anyway I chose something else then watched as the waited spoke in Spanish with another waitress about how long the cake was there. he brings it to table and I take a bite only to spit it out. it was like acid on my tongue! the cream had gone sour. I tried to get the taste out if y mouth its a napkin but the tingling stayed. he then tasted it and threw the entire cake out. including another one in the display. I heard him tell the owner that it doesn't sell. ( suggestion: if something doesn't sell don't make it, or at least put a small sign on it for only the staff to see of when it was made so you know after a certain time period to toss it.). I walked around and saw in a different case upfront carrot cake... I asked the waiter how it was.. he said ill check.... came back and said it taste ok to me so I got a slice.. as soon as he put it on the table I smelled the mold! I then put it up to my nose and sure enough it was mold. awful! turns out the case is not refrigerated!! Food Basics: refrigerator should be at 40 degrees AND if it is with cream or dairy must be refrigerated. the owner or manager ( bald guy at front) didn't even say or offer an apology I will never go back. stay away if you want to stay healthy. im considering contacting the health department read more

I've been here twice. The first time, I thought it was ok. The second time, bleh. Both times, we had to flag down the wait staff to make an order or for the bill. To start my coffee cup had lipstick on it when they brought it to the table. Coffee was bad we sent it back and got ices tea. Ordered regular French toast with Sunnyside down eggs sausage ham and bacon Eggs were not cooked all the way through and the French toast was on challah bread. Bacon was like it just came out of a buffet tray not hot more soggy. They didn't have sweetened iced tea? I also asked three times for the check. We had a party of over 15 people not too many were happy. read more

It's a diner....'nough said. And in diners, it's definitely one of the better ones I have been to. We've been coming here with the work crew for years. Mostly for lunch, and occasionally for an early dinner pre-movie as well. The service has pretty much always been good, quick & friendly. Lunch time is limited and they have always had us out within the hour. I've usually always had wraps, burgers, sandwiches.....everything has been fine. Deserts aren't so good though. read more

Im a businessman in the area. I took my fiancée to eat there and the waitress on staff was incompetent as well as the manager. They brought out stuff we didn't order then insisted we ordered it. The manager was too busy watching his phone. When I brought it up to him he looked at us like his two brain cells that he had in his head didn't work. This was on October 1 2017 at 900 pm. I hope the owners see this. As a business owner I woulda fired both of them read more

Saw some less than favorable reviews. But I'm a diner guy anyway. Hot coffee. Eggs cooked like I ordered them. Tasty home fries. Can never go wrong with breakfast. Ok. Downgraded by one star today. This is pretty much what you'd expect from a diner. Average food and average service. I will say the food came out fast which was great and the omelet was good. The coffee needs work and the toast was lacking. I wouldn't hit this place again, and prob would opt for a protein bar, verse coming here again. I haven't tried the staples like burgers but that is prob a better bet. read more

This place used to be so good years ago so sad to give it this review. The matzoh ball soup was their chicken noodle with two "matzoh balls" on the side, yes in a separate bowl. I use quotes as they were like what someone would make who knows of them in a general sense but has no clue exactly how to make them...definitely not from legit matzoh meal/flour. The grilled chicken on the panini came burnt. Since there was only one server and the handful of guests were allowed to sit all over this large restaurant, service was slow. read more

This diner has never let me down. I did take out tonight, and the portions were big, and the food was tasty. Grilled chicken on a garden salad, and grilled chicken sandwiches with home fries and they throw in two onion rings (I love that little extra touch!). The provided plastic ware and condiments without even asking for them. I'll be back here again for sure. I usually get there gyro which is very good. read more

My family and I used to go there all the time but something has changed. The staff is rude and spends most of their time on their phone. Last time, my Aunt and I were preparing to pay and I was finishing my coffee when the waitress came leaned over the table while we were talking and started taking away all the dishes. She didn't say excuse me. Her sleeve almost went into my cup. Also while we were eating dinner they were vacuuming the floor. IT took 20 minutes to place an order. We won't be returning anymore. read more

Quite disgusting. I will stick to eggs and sandwiches. Steer clear of the meats (what was I thinking?). The vegetables looked like they sat in water all day like a school cafeteria. Soup was decent. Pork chops were like leather and no value at $17 read more

The service was lousy!! Forgot drinks, the salad had onions so she went back and picked them off, I could still taste the onions on the lettuce. We ordered Lasagna for the kids. They complained and weren't really eating it. I tasted the Lasagna and it was sour. I told our waitress she said she would check to see what she could do. A few minutes later she comes by and just gives us the check, without saying anything. Terrible customer service. Didn't apologize and said that their Lasagna is fresh. And that my kids probably didn't like lasagna. Hmm.. my son finished his serving of Lasagna from New Rochelle Diner, which is why I ordered it in the first place. Had they handled the situation in a friendlier and customer oriented manner I might have considered going back but they didn't. The coffee was OK but I'll pass. read more

This place is absolutely terrible! I'd probably come back because the food is Okay but the service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant scenario therefore not ever coming back. Very disappointing today. Service was slow. Took over 15 minutes to take a drink order for breakfast - if you need a morning coffee, don't come here. Food came out promptly, but bacon was poor quality and a small portion. Ham and sausages were good. Eggs cooked as ordered. Pancakes were average. Honey on the French toast as indicated in the menu was non-existent and the bread was clearly not soaked. Better options in the area. read more

I work 5 minutes away from this place. I went to lunch on 08/06/15. I was by myself when I was seated at a small private area just to the left when you walk into the place. Immediately I felt like I was sitting at the children's table!?....No, it was more like a table they seat people if they think you are going to run out on the bill !!!!!!! I ordered a cup of coffee, soup and a sandwich. Maybe 5 minutes......I get my food. Then my waitress drops the bill on my table and walks away! I had just taken a bite out of my sandwich and already I have the bill on my table!!?? I waved to several of the wait staff to get a refill on the coffee...but i was being ignored. So I waited 10 minutes hoping my waitress would come back. She didn't. I left my lunch at the table. Got up, paid for it, then left. 16 dollars for a crappy sandwich! I did not leave a tip! Terrible service! I should have gone to the Apple Bee's across the street! I give this place a one because I could not give it a -5. I will never go back. read more
