Meh... that is the best way I could honestly describe the food, and experience at the Executive diner. Located right off the parkway, it is convenient, but it is lack-luster. Average diner food with average decor. Staff is alright, and it seems fairly clean. You will not leave disappointed, but you will not be eager to return. This diner has clean bathrooms and no visible dirt in the dishes or silverware. No fights broke out during this meal. My parents and I used to come to this diner throughout my childhood. I came back recently to find it the same as it was 10 years ago: disorganized, with poor service. I was seated for 10 mins before a waitress even acknowledged that we existed, and even this acknowledgement came with an attitude..."I guess I'll take you guys too". We sat for 10 minutes in a diner on a Sunday and didn't even receive water. That should say enough about the executive diner. To be short staffed is one thing, but to have such poor service and then also a bad attitude is repulsive to customers. Maybe I'll give it another go in another 10 years. I am going to be returning next week to try the breakfast here. I believe the breakfast at a diner says a lot about the place. I have only been here once so my review is based solely on that one experience. I went around 10pm on a Sunday night. I love 24 hour diners because I party on the weekends and like having a diner to go to around 4-5am. Pros - Open 24 hours. - Very clean and spacious. I hate eating on top of other people. - My italian wrap was delicious. The chicken cutlet was awesome, with the marinara sauce, peppers, and cheese. - The potato salad was absolutely tasty. I am very critical over potato salad because nothing tastes as good as my moms homemade potato salad. However, their potato salad surprised me and ended up being very good. - The fries were crispy - the way I liked them. - Mozzarella stickers were crispy, cheesy and delicious. Cons - The service was slow. Not sure if they were understaffed but for an empty diner it was very slow. - The waiter was somewhat rude. I asked for bacon in my wrap - (thought that was normal since I was having chicken cutlet in my wrap) and he made a face and said "oh really." Seemed annoyed and acted like I was asking for something outrageous. - When bacon arrived it was undercooked. - My milkshake was warm??? Very confusing for me. - The prices are higher than most diners here. $11 for chicken tenders.... Overall, I am not sure what to think of this diner based off my one experience because there were so many pros and cons. Planned on eating in NYC after a Broadway show only to find that most places were closed or closing soon. We decided to hit a diner in Mt. Kisco that we knew was open late, but decided to stop here instead. It was just after midnight and they were open til 1:00. The place was empty and most of the staff was sitting at the counter. I live and work halfway between two 24-hour diners where the only safe things to order are scrambled eggs and tuna on rye. Even an omelet can be burned and dry, accompanied by greasy fries. Yesterday, after getting hungry running errands including shopping at my favorite nursery, Rosedale, on 9-A, I took a chance at the Executive Diner, across the road. I took an even bigger chance on ordering the special Caesar salad with grilled chicken special that comes with a half-cup of soup and a drink for $8.95. Surprise! The matzah ball soup was better than Aunt Rochelle's: a fluffy ball in a tasty, herb-infused broth. The chicken was shockingly juicy. The salad was fresh, with a nice dressing. Decent coffee. Lots of people have yelped about their bad experiences at this place. I'm willing to try it again. Maybe restaurateurs, even diner owners, pay attention to these reviews and improve their food and service. read more

Inconsistency rules here. Visited numerous times over years resulted in hits and misses. In one sitting service can be fast then you're forgotten. Food which s/b hot can be expected to arrive warm or even cold. We've seen waitresses and managers argue in public as anything's possible here. Had a pretty good lunch here. I got a grilled chicken tex-mex sandwich. It was delicious, but so very messy. Besides the chicken it came with cheddar and chili. The bun just wasn't up to the challenge. Eating it was a bit of a chore, but it was very good. The fries were golden and delicious. About the only thing I didn't like was my waiter. He got my coffee, I had no sugar, so I tried twice to grab his attention and he just walked away. I ended up getting my own. The waitress working that area saw this and basically took over for him. She brought me a newspaper and more coffee and sugar. He came back with the check, so I'll bet he took the tip. I went here yesterday with my sister due to having to wait for my doctor to finish a surgery. my food was cooked wrong and when remade it was mediocre , a frozen burger patty still cooked wrong and the same old fries that were on the first plate but were now cold. but whatever. The real issue started with the desserts. I was first told they had something and then witnessed the waited cutting a different cake for me. I went up and investigated and was told they didn't have the one I wanted originally ( so you just substitute? umm what is I was allergic ir didn't want that?). anyway I chose something else then watched as the waited spoke in Spanish with another waitress about how long the cake was there. he brings it to table and I take a bite only to spit it out. it was like acid on my tongue! the cream had gone sour. I tried to get the taste out if y mouth its a napkin but the tingling stayed. he then tasted it and threw the entire cake out. including another one in the display. I heard him tell the owner that it doesn't sell. ( suggestion: if something doesn't sell don't make it, or at least put a small sign on it for only the staff to see of when it was made so you know after a certain time period to toss it.). I walked around and saw in a different case upfront carrot cake... I asked the waiter how it was.. he said ill check.... came back and said it taste ok to me so I got a slice.. as soon as he put it on the table I smelled the mold! I then put it up to my nose and sure enough it was mold. awful! turns out the case is not refrigerated!! Ordered regular French toast with Sunnyside down eggs sausage ham and bacon Eggs were not cooked all the way through and the French toast was on challah bread. Bacon was like it just came out of a buffet tray not hot more soggy. They didn't have sweetened iced tea? I also asked three times for the check. Im a businessman in the area. I took my fiancée to eat there and the waitress on staff was incompetent as well as the manager. They brought out stuff we didn't order then insisted we ordered it. The service was lousy!! Forgot drinks, the salad had onions so she went back and picked them off, I could still taste the onions on the lettuce. We ordered Lasagna for the kids. They complained and weren't really eating it. I tasted the Lasagna and it was sour. I told our waitress she said she would check to see what she could do. A few minutes later she comes by and just gives us the check, without saying anything. Terrible customer service. Didn't apologize and said that their Lasagna is fresh. And that my kids probably didn't like lasagna. Hmm.. my son finished his serving of Lasagna from New Rochelle Diner, which is why I ordered it in the first place.
