I got a living social deal for Evo and figured I would try it out. I had an amazing experience!! I got a hair cut and deep conditioning treatment and my hair is still smooth and silky 2 weeks later. I had Jackie and she was awesome and very knowledgable and gave me great tips on products for my hair. (I have had BAD experiences with hair dressers and products they have recommended but not this time).. She also styled my hair so well that I cannot get it to look the same at home no matter how hard i try! I also got the hour luxury pedicure. This is where they lost a star because it was very relaxing but really was just a normal pedicure you can go get at a cheaper place. On a whole, loved the interior, they had free coffee and even offered me a glass of wine, I loved the people there and I will definitely be back to try a massage or waxing. read more

I had a Living Social coupon for a one-hour luxury pedicure. Pros: The staff are extremely nice. Expect big smiles when you come in and offerings of tea/coffee and cookies. Pedicure area is a private area that is quiet, so you can relax. Cons: The pedicure was more like a 30-minute express pedicure. It wasn't a bad experience, it was just underrated for the price. You can get the same thing and possibly a better massage, at other places. I don't think I would come back for nail services. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for this salon for a 1-hour pedicure. Honestly, I half forgot about it because it has not been sandal season. I also have been going through some very trying things in my personal life that have left getting a pedicure at the bottom of a very long priority list. When i realized it expired in 4 days, I quickly called up to see what could be done. After speaking to several people, it became apparent that they only had daytime appointments--probably due to the fact that they only have ONE person who can perform a pedicure there. Therefore, the only way to take advantage of my voucher would be to leave work at some point during the day for this pedicure before Friday. Unfortunately, like most people, I work 9-5 and leaving work to go somewhere 10+miles away and get a pedicure just isn't possible. Not only were the managers (I spoke with two) completely unwilling to work with me, to honor the deal past the impending expiration date (even though I was scheduling prior to the expiration) but they also told me that I was "unreasonable" and essentially implied it was my problem and not theirs because of my poor timing. They also kept insisting that since they would honor the promotional price TOWARD a full price pedicure (which they legally have to do since you spent the money), they were being helpful and I was not taking advantage of that. For a small business I was shocked at the lack of flexibility and poor customer service. The only positive part of this was I made the call from my desk where all 20+ of my coworkers could hear me. Each one has told me they are glad to know where NOT to go in Latham. For the price you are going to pay ($45), you are better off going across the street to Rumors and getting a great pedicure without risking the hassle of terrible customer service. read more

I had purchased a Groupon for a full set of eyelash extensions & a fill and had never been to Evo previously. I show up for my appointment and was told that the person performing my service had left the salon. Nobody called me to let me know that my appointment would be cancelled. They did not make arrangements for someone else to cover my appointment. The receptionist at the front could not have been more rude. She suggested I call Groupon and get my money back as they would not be able to accommodate me. While I would've saved more money to just reschedule for another day, I was so turned off by how rude the receptionist was that I followed her suggestion. I called Groupon asked for a refund which they happily gave to me. I am now booked at Make Me Fabulous and am happily paying double for the service. I had never heard of this salon until I received an e-mail about a Groupon. It was a great deal - $59.00 for a hair cut, deep conditioning treatment, and partial highlights. I purchased the Groupon and cancelled the appointment I was supposed to have at another salon, which would have cost me at least $160.00 without tip. I was able to make an appointment at Evo right away. My stylist, Jackie, was very nice and did an amazing job! I was a little skeptical because of the price being so low, but this was an amazing deal. I am happy to say I found a new salon! read more

Love this place. Searching the net for a place to get my haircut while I was in town and stumbled on the Evo web page. Needless to say this place is as luxurious as the web photos. This is not your grandmas hair salon ladies. It is new, modern, clean and cutting edge. Which means a lot when I am looking for a fresh up to date style. I had Julie the salon owner give me a highlight, deep condition and whole new style. Back home in Florida I love it. I purchased a groupon for eyelash extensions, plus a two week fill. During my first appointment I waited one full hour before someone finally came up to me and asked who I was there to see. The woman who would do my eyelash extension wouldn't fit me in, and I ended up leaving. She didn't apologize either. I made another appointment for a week later. The extensions were OK. They felt very fake though. I had made an appointment for a two week full but by then all of my lashes had fallen out. Evo Salon now tells me I will have to pay for another full set. Well, thanks for making me wait an hour, and given me cheap lashes. read more

I used a groupon deal for Evo. I was switching salons and figured, lets use a groupon to try to find somewhere new to go. When I arrived for my 9am appointment, myself and a couple other clients were waiting at the front desk. No one was there. The stylists were in back. Someone eventually came up front. This was not a good start, but I didn't think much of it... When I said I wasn't sure who I was seeing the person checking me in said, oh its me. She did not look thrilled. This was one of my worries about using a groupon at a salon - not getting good service. They stylist had no suggestions (as I am used to at other salons when I ask for opinions). She colored by hair then deep conditioned. After the deep conditioning, she came up and said another stylist would be finishing me up (cut and style). I was a bit shocked. My hair came out fine. I actually really liked the cut and styling, but I could not get over being treated like a second class client. I believe I overheard my original stylist called another client and had her come in early - probably because she didn't want to finish me up. I tipped both stylists well, but I will never go back to Evo nor recommended that salon. read more

Let me first start by saying I NEVER leave reviews...I made a yelp account just to make a review on my experience here. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. My current eyelash specialist went out on maternity leave so I had to find a new girl. I had an appointment the previous week of which I called by calling the salon to due to a death in the family. I rescheduled for yesterday. First I walked in, waited at the front desk for a good 8 minutes with no one greeting me. Finally the receptionist came up to the front desk and asked who I was seeing. Ashley, the eyelash specialist then said I never made an appointment...my appointment was originally at 1:30 and EVO Salon personally called me and left a message to see if I could do 2:00 instead. I called back and said I could do 2:00. So YES I did have an appointment. She then proceeded to walk away and says "I don't have time for you" Ashley was the RUDEST, most snobby specialist I have ever met in my entire life. I had a gift certificate from Christmas. I excitedly signed up for a massage and Mani pedi. This visit was cancelled the morning of due to snow storm. I understand this happens in the north east. So we rescheduled again. 15 minutes before my appointment the spa called and cancelled my Mani/ pedi as the lady went home early! I had explained to this business I wanted/ needed to use the whole gift certificate at once because I live 40 minutes away. I was 5 minutes from the spa. I pulled over and requested a manager. I wanted a refund from the 140 my husband paid. It was refused. I was encouraged to come in to get my massage and then we could discuss the rest. When I arrived the business was easy to find. I put all the negative feelings aside and enteres ready to experience something wonderful.The young ladies at front desk were less than welcoming, no eye contact and short question and answers.Again I spoke with manager and was told I could not get a refund even though they cancelled on me twice. I could use the rest of my certificate to purchase product if I'd like. The massage room is off the main floor where 4-5 people get their hair cut. It was very loud,distracting and not relaxing. My massage therapist Olga however was the most wonderful person I've ever met! I'd recommend her to anybody outside of this setting. As I departed I couldn't help but feel poor service, very little eye contact from the over made up lady at reception. I would never return. Very poor customer service and if your using some type of certificate you are most definitely treated poorly. read more
