$7 happy hour every day! 3-6pm and 9pm to close
    Evalani C.

My hubby and I discovered this place a couple months ago and we absolutely love this place for our date nights. First off, every night including weekends, from 3-6pm and 9pm to close, they have happy hour in the restaurant where they have food deals for $5,$7! This burger and fries which tasted good by the way was only $7! They will also deliver your food to you outside the theatre room and you can take it in to see your movie! Tuesdays are their $5 deal days. $5 movies, $5 bowling! You could literally come here with a date and spend $40 for a movie, bowling and dinner!!! Where can you do that? Evo! They have other "deal" days as well. Definitely take advantage. This place has been clean and not too crowded making it a perfect chill spot.

I have been passing this place for a while now and finally decided to come check it out! I love arcade games and to find a fun place to bring my family It seems much bigger from the outside but still has alot of fun games and there is bowling and its connected to a movie theater which the prices seem very reasonable for both. There is also a small bar area if you want to hang out while your kids play. It's a quick go to if you wanted a little fun time

Manager Melissa is a complete liar & fraudulently charged my credit card while lying that she hadn't. It seems we are the anomaly experience at this location alas, 2 starts is being generous. Our visit started being told they no longer have the Grub&Game deal. Their bowling screens still advertise it. After ordering our food with the bartender, we never saw her again. The chicken tenders appeared either overcooked or cooked in old oil. I was later told my Melissa, "maybe your kids shouldn't order it." We asked and were told they would be made again. They came out looking the same. We then asked for a burger substitution. From order time to burger delivery was 45 minutes! Smash burgers were greasy, but I digress. After we ate, I asked for my $10 tip to be removed, AT LEAST. The manager, Melissa, came back and told me she comped our entire meal. I asked for a copy of my refund receipt since I had already paid. She handed me the exact copy of my paid for receipt. The then LIED to me that it was the refund receipt until I showed her I had a picture of that EXACT receipt. Melissa then brought a receipt that showed our meal "COMPED" but not refunded. Again LYING!!! I then asked for the other manager on site. When an employee called for him over the radio, I walked by Melissa who radioed "Diego is unavailable." Again, LYING!!! Diego listened to my concerns and offered us free bowling; as we had planned to pay to bowl but my husband was decided we would not spend another penny at this establishment. Diego was kind and empathetic. Diego is the only reason this place gets 2 stars. Despite all the time we wasted, we did have fun bowling, and I look forward to speaking to the GM, AJ about our unfortunate incident.

I've never been to this theater chain before, but it's a lot like Main Event with theater screens. EVO has numerous movie screens with some great deals like $5 Tuesdays, along with bowling lanes, arcade games, and a bar. I came for a private event and it actually works well for those. They have at least a couple separate private rooms with tables and chairs and you can have food set up buffet style depending on what your party orders. My event had the beef & chicken fajitas along with rice, beans, guacamole, queso, chips, sour cream, cheese, etc. The fajitas were pretty institutional like TopGolf or something, but tasted nice and were perfectly serviceable. I mostly played the arcade games which are always a lot of fun. Several weren't working like one of three skeeball lanes, a couple of the ball toss games, and a few others. Plenty of others won't work with the timed-play card that comes with events because they don't want to award tickets for those or they simply want cash like the virtual reality ones. But there are still numerous options like the Halo vehicle that seats four players in a light-gun game that is lots of fun. There aren't as many games as other arcades I've seen, but still plenty to have fun with. Sadly I didn't have time for bowling or a movie, but I did poke my head in a screening room and they seem comfortable with padded vinyl seats, although those are a bit flimsy. And keep in mind that this theater is almost a decade old so some of the seats are worn too. I liked the curved screens!

Upon arrival, I wanted to pay with my MoviePass card and so I walked to the ticketing booth and the young lady was on her phone and had an AirPod in. I scared the DAYLIGHT out of her. I felt so bad even though it wasn't my fault. Just oof. Also, it was really hard to communicate as there are issues with the glass microphone... At the concessions, I had 3 coupons from a Christmas promo. The poor guy had to enter them separately and this is where things got weird. I asked him what was closest to $5 and he said a bottled beverage. On the screen it showed $5.80 for a bottled beverage. When he rang up my Fairlife chocolate milk (I'll get to this later), it was $6.30 or $6.80. Either way, I got to use my coupons even though it took 7-10 min. My popcorn was stale and severely disappointing but whatever...it was 9am. The chocolate milk, well, I thought it was a protein shake as it did end up having 23g of protein. However, it did not use the lactose free milk and I suffered drastically during the middle of the film. That was my fault. The Coke Zero syrup was okay but I've had better. The concession area was spectacularly clean. The patron checking tickets was super diligent and wonderful at his job. I was happy to, once again, see how local Cinemarks hire those with disabilities. My seat didn't recline all of the way and now I know why no one chose my row (I wish they would have told me it was a Dbox row when I purchased the ticket). Overall, a decent experience and I would be back!

It was their first one though so I get that they are working out the kinks. I definitely want to come back once they have done the game a few times and really have it nailed down. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I think we were legit ripped off by the bartender. My husband had one old fashioned for $15 and 3 canned beers for $3 each. I had one dirty martini, one Moscow mule and 3 glasses of Pinot noir and our bill , which wasn't presented itemized , came back as $150 which was $170 with tip. The math just doesn't make sense. Plus , the pours were really meh. Especially the wine she barely poured me a full glass. They really need to improve the pours if they are somehow charging $20 a pop for each drink, either that or the bartender really did rip us off. Shame too as other than that experience this please was amazing!

Over recent years, they have attempted to make this location nicer with a downstairs eating area, a prize station as you first enter on the right (always difficult to pass with my grandkids so not a big fan of this placement) and a gaming area. I would probably say it has a three out of five on the clean rating. That might be generous. Most times I go to the restrooms, there are no paper towels, no soap and only a few water fixtures that work. Thankfully toilet paper has never been an issue. Ample number of stalls. As for the seating in the theaters, they have recliner seating, rotating table and cupholder which is great for comfort. Most of the time seating has been clean. However, there appears to be some kind of bug perhaps a moth that lives in the theaters so while you're viewing, you will most likely encounter flying bugs across the screen and sometimes right at you into the sitting area. They do have an elevator, but the most convenient way to the upper level where the entry to the cinemas is is from a large staircase at the front of the cinema. They have drink stations both at the lower and upper level, which is great, especially for icees. Growing up in the 80s I am reminiscent of movie theaters in their heyday. While this particular one would not be able to compete, if you are in dripping Springs, it is an average and easy way to see a new movie. Honestly just go look at any movie at any time, and compare it to the nearest Alamo on Slaughter. Right now I can have an entire theater to myself, where Alamo has a few seats left, for the same movie, at the same time. Nobody is sitting at their bar, no body is eating in the community space, the arcade is sparse with kids, and the theaters are empty. I watched a movie by myself last night (saturday) at 5pm. The place is dirty. You can see moths flying around in the theater. The food is BAD. The popcorn isn't even good. I got a tub and it was the bottom of the barrel, loaded with seeds.... With a drink.... $17. Seventeen dollars to crack a tooth if I'm not careful. The seats are falling apart. Some don't even work because the electronics are broken. Id hate to see what it looks like with the lights on. General ticket prices are around $4 more than a movie at Alamo where it's far more temperate, far more comfortable, has far better food, far better service, and is overall a far better experience. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but owners and management are completely clueless. This place won't last another 3-5 years unless they enact drastic change. Oh, also, is there a reason you keep the music on all night on the outside speakers? Are your employees really that lazy? I walk past it every morning, around 6am and music is still blaring away outside. It doesn't bother anyone, but it gives you an idea of how little anyone cares here.

Funny enough, even though it's called Upstairs Circus, I kept calling it "Uptown Circus" for some reason and still do. My sister had been here once when she first moved to Austin, but it had been a while, so she was happy to go again. We tried to make a reservation for a Monday but found out they're closed that day unless it's a private event. So we ended up booking a Sunday evening during their Sangria Sundays event. Signing up online was quick and easy--no payment required upfront. When we arrived, we were seated at a table and given the option to sit side by side or across from each other. They handed us a laminated flyer with all the available project options, ranging from easy (about an hour) to more challenging projects that can take the full three-hour session. There was a good mix of household items (like coasters and magnetic shelves), jewelry, handbags, clutches, accessories, and even a pricier custom Nike shoe painting project. The sample projects looked very professional, but the final result really depends on your artistic skills and how focused you are during the session. My sister and I decided to pick different projects--she chose a handbag clutch, and I went with coasters. We got all our materials and instructions. One thing I noticed: this kind of activity is probably better suited for people who don't have a ton to catch up on while working. Since my sister and I hadn't seen each other for weeks, we were trying to talk and catch up, which made it harder for me to focus on the project. Some steps were time-sensitive, so juggling both conversation and crafting was a bit stressful. For my coaster project, I initially planned to use a stencil and transfer paper to trace a design, but it didn't work very well. I ended up switching to a simple two-color block design just to make sure I could finish in time. My sister's project was a bit more advanced--she had to do leather hole punching and threading--but she managed to finish and loved how her clutch turned out. Since it was Sangria Sunday, you get one complimentary sangria or mocktail with your reservation, and they keep a card on file if you want to order more drinks. I got a spicy cocktail that actually had really good flavor, even though I didn't finish it. Overall, this is a fun and unique activity if you want to do something creative with a friend or group. I'd recommend it more if you're looking to spend quality time doing something together rather than having a deep conversation--because focusing on the project definitely takes some attention. My sister was happy with her finished product, and I liked mine even if it turned out simpler than planned. It's a cool idea for a birthday, date night, or just a different kind of outing.
