Was then directed to an iPad where we could sign up that wasn't really anywhere near the boots, but hidden behind a pillar. Quite literally the worst customer service I've ever experienced. At least 7 or 8 employees walked by me and just blankly stared and never asked if I needed help. Rented a couple of mountain bikes for the day. We declined their helmet check out because we had some of our own. When we returned the bikes they asked us for the helmets back (they had accidentally marked that we did take them). We said that we did not take them because we had our own. They evidently did not believe us and passive aggressively told us that if we found them we could bring them back. They did not charge us but their attitude was quite off putting. read more

I rented biked here when my family was in town about a month ago. These guys were so helpful, patient, and really nice. We were a party of 9 (needing 7 bikes to rent). They had enough bikes and their prices were very reasonable, better than trying to use B Cycles for the day. We had my mom with us, who isn't super athletic and experience don a bike. The folks at the Bicycle Doctor were really helpful in helping my mom find a bike she would feel comfortable and safe in. They were really awesome and cannot be grateful enough for the extra help they gave my mom. I would definitely bring out-of-towners here to rent bikes again. read more

My first impression of this place was, "there is NO BETTER BIKE PLACE IN DENVER!" The customer service and interaction with one of the young ladies at this store was incredible. She is well knowledgable in all things cycle and extremely helpful. I made multiple indications that I would like to purchase the bike that I rented ... not only did I state my interest but we (the helpful young lady and I) discussed it on multiple occasions as well as wrote it down on my most recent reservation. When I returned the bike after renting it and expressed continued interest in purchasing it. By the time I called a few hours later to complete the purchase, a new person to me answered the phone to tell me that the bike was just sold because I did not put down a deposit ... hmm, a deposit seems like a reasonable request to hold a bike for an impending sale, too bad the deposit was not ONCE mentioned to me throughout all of our conversations and rental process. I understand it's business and they did what they had to do to make the sale to anyone. I think someone else wanted to purchase the bike and what happened is they geniunely forgot that a sale was already in the works with me ... what I don't like is the lack of owning up to the mistake; I feel gypped out of my purchase. I would love to write a positive review about this place because of the customer service I received by one of the young ladies; however, the rest of my interactions at this place blatently cause me to post a negative. Bicycle Doctor, we could've had a long and beautiful relationship as I rented and purchased more of your athletic gear and services ... unfortunately, I don't like to feel cheated out of something that was agreed upon. Called these guys at 4pm on Friday asking if they could mount bindings for me same day. I thought they were going to hang up on me. Instead, they figured out a way to squeeze me in. They told me to come back at 6:30, but called me before then just to be sure that they mounted the bindings where I wanted them (the skis had two factory center points), which I appreciated greatly. You need to rethink your boot fitting appointment schedule system. I get it takes time to fit a boot and you have only so many associates to help with demand so I can expect a wait for good service, not going to fault you there. But with waits over an hour and a half, you should be accepting appointments over the phone. It's ridiculous you expect me to come into your store to schedule a fitting and do god knows for a couple hours until you are ready. Your denial of an over the phone appointment scheduling is going to cost you business from me. Best of luck. read more

Overall I think evo is a great ski shop. I purchased boots here with custom footbeds last season and Sean and Jordan were both amazing and clearly know their stuff. I felt comfortable and confident in their skills which can be hard to find. A lot of other bootfitters in the area don't know a thing about skiing so it's hard to trust their judgment. The reason I'm not giving a full 5 star review is due to a recent issue in the service shop. This used to be the only place in the city I trusted to tune my skis. Last week I got my skis tuned and ended up with essentially a race tune which ruined the first day of a ski trip. It was time consuming to find someone to detune the skis at a resort I was not familiar with and it rattled my confidence for most of the day. Anyone who wants edges that sharp is going to ask for that specifically or has their own ski tech. I did call and provide this feedback as I don't believe the general skier would want this type of tune and spoke with two other friends who had the same thing happen. The experience was certainly a disappointment. My advice to other customers is to be very specific with the tech when you drop off your equipment and make your expectations clear. read more

Brought my bike in a few weeks ago for a tune up and when I went out to ride for the first time yesterday, the back wheel fell off. I brought it back in, knowing they could turn me away and assume I had caused the issue. They took it and fixed it right up without a question. Great local shop with a great staff! I've been having my bikes and boards tuned by Matt and the folks at Edgeworks for years. They are hardworking and honest. Always treating their customers with care and integrity - whether they're working on a $5K Yeti or a 20 year old Specialized Stumpjumper. With all the large chain stores staffed by a revolving door of employees, it's great to be able to go into a local store with long term staff who care about what they're doing and really know their stuff. read more

Specific to the bike shop: Evo went out of their way to fix a problem and put me first. Sometimes it seems with bike shops that tune ups and repairs get as mysterious as car maintenance, but these guys are genuine and do the right thing for the customer. Feeling like somewhat of a colossal airhead after being unable to determine the cause of the lack of air in my bike's rear tire, I popped in to see if they could check it out for me. Although they seemed busy, they were friendly and willing to help, refilling the air in my tire and providing an explanation for my difficulty with the valve--free of condescension and charge. Great store, inventory is on point. However, when I visited to purchase skis, bindings and boots - they told me it would take 7 days to have my skis mounted. Or I could pay $25 to be put 'further up' in the line? Every other shop in CO will mount overnight. So I went to Christys - they mounted in 8 hours, for free. So I saved $55 and 7 days. Why would I ever buy skis and bindings if you'll charge me to be put higher in the line? I could pay the exact same and go to any shop in Denver and have them mounted overnight... Used to love this shop, but they do not take care of their regulars. read more

Jerry, the store associate helping me, spent at least 2 hours with me to make sure I found the perfect skis for my feet, ability, and budget. Anyone who thinks that old-fashioned, small businesses with great customer service don't exist anymore needs to visit this business. Every time I go there they are super friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced. This is the only bike shop I use now, and I commute to work on my bike every day. Today I took my wheel in for a new tube, and because I also bought a helmet they did not charge any labour. Then, when I managed to break the bike trying to put the repaired wheel back on I took the whole bike back in. There was no attitude or snobbishness, just the same friendly service I am now accustomed to. The tech looked at my bike, found a used part to replace what I broke, put it back together and sent me on my way...wait for it...FREE OF CHARGE!!! I was there for about 10 minutes! So, if you live in Denver and ride a bike, this business is truly deserving of your business. Oh, they also work on skis and snowboards :) read more

I have rented mountain bikes in the past from here and eventually purchased one of the bikes that they rent out. I love my mountain bike! Everyone is super helpful. They even helped me put on my new crank brothers platform pedals last season. I have a friend in town this weekend and I just rented a mountain bike for this Saturday. Always great customer service. I don't have much money but the act like I spend a lot there, the first time I came in I got some tires and not only where they super helpful they fixed things I did not even know where wrong for free. Today my bike got hit by a car and I came in to get the front rim fixed and I was in and out in under 20 min. I was not even late to an anointment. Best of all I really feel like they appreciated my biz and there not snobs!!!!! read more

This shop is really nice but their selection is quite limited. They have some things for snowboarders, but not that much. I came in here to try on some boots on a hot day and they had a sale going on outside. I looked through the bins but nothing I needed in particular. The reason why they dont get 5 stars is because it took me awhile to get someone to assist me. The seating area to try on snowboard boots is quite small and everyone has to crowd to sit down. I think this area could use some more seating and perhaps more space. I know they're upcycling an old ski lift chair or some sorts, but I dont particularly like it for trying on boots. Anyway, the guy that helped me was awesome. He was really above and beyond and didn't mind going in the back and grabbing me boots. Now all I have to do is wait for the after Christmas sale to get them on discount! :) Also to add, they do offer you a cold beer if you're trying stuff on! I rented a Scott road bike (no carbon bikes at this shop) from Bicycle Doctor since I was visiting Denver from NYC. I thought it would be nice to try out a different brand than the one I'm using now (Look 566). So I didn't expect much from that rental ( a real downgrade for me), and still I was disappointed by the quality of the ride. The overall state of the bike was dirty!, the gears were not well maintained!, and the brakes were half way gone! ( had to adjust them myself to avoid crashing) I was expecting better from so called reputed bike shop, especially since they seemed to have a full time mechanic. Overall not impressed at all by the service I got. I guess you only get what you pay for, but still... I had much better luck in Boulder a couple days later. Colorado rocks!! read more

I took in a board and skis for an early season edge and wax. They did a great job on the skis but turned my DINs down to 4 so I ejected my first day on the mountain making easy turns. I wouldn't be upset but they never told me they had to turn my DINs down. I message them directly and never heard back. Luckily I wasn't going that fast or could have really been hurt. As for the board, it was brand new and when I got it back there was a scrape in the bottom like they dropped it on something. This place is supper close to where I live and I really wanted it to be my go to but I think I'll go back to Christy sports. They never mess with my DINs there. read more

I got a great deal on a snowboard, boots, and bindings on Evo.com. I came to the store and they helped get my bindings set up, boots molded, and board waxed. My boots were too small, so they remolded them and put insoles in for free. They also give you beer while you wait for your boots to heat up The employees are knowledgeable and quick to help customers. They also have a variety of gear and they have good sales. Awesome experience! Great customer service from everyone we interacted with. My family flew into Denver and arrived at EVO around 3PM. My daughter had an online order new pair of skis/bindings and boots waiting for us that needed to be mounted and prepped. I needed a pair of demo skis set up with my boots. We were in a super rush and the Shop Team was amazing. Everyone was polite, responsive and even had a sense of humor, making our visit pleasant and a very positive experience!! Bought a set of union bindings via web prior to the Denver store being built, recently a strap fell off and union suggested going back to eco for service. As the bindings were older the latest replacement parts wouldn't fit yet the eco team pulled together a workable replacement to get me back on the mountain ASAP. Amazing service! read more

Our family had a great experience there. I was looking for MTB apparel. They had the shoes I wanted. Unfortunately, they didn't have the gloves I wanted, but offered to order it for me. They were very helpful and discussed MTB in the area. My son bought a skateboard deck. The staff member even applied for him a custom designed grip tape.
