Initial Review: Absolutely terrible service for an attempt at getting ski boots. Went in a first time and was utterly ignored for quite a while and then told nobody could help me despite the fact the employees outnumbered the customers like 5 to 1 at the time. Eventually I found someone to help me try on ski boots with about half an hour before closing. He was great and worked with me, but there was more work to be done. I was told to come in anytime to finish up and that I wouldn't need and appointment for a weekday. I tried to come back in the next week, hours before closing. I had to wait 20 minutes to even get my name on the waitlist to be helped (clearly was given bad info before). Eventually I got onto the waitlist and took a seat. I sat there for an hour and a half until closing. Nobody warned me they wouldn't get to me. Nobody paid me any attention at all. I will be taking my boot search elsewhere, as I'm sure I can find the same prices and better service Update: I had a bad initial experience with Evo, but after letting them know about what happened, Evo really did go the extra mile to explain what happened and change my perception of the business. While I did get my ski boots elsewhere, I talked with Jordan and he personally helped me as I tried to find a pair of skis. The service was great, and so was my experience in the store when I had to go in to drop off boots for mounting on skis and picking up the skis. I got a decent deal on a demo bike- Liv Hail 2017. BUT I am NOT impressed with evo as a company, nor the staff. I picked up the bike 6 days after purchasing, after evo staff were supposed to "service" the bike. Upon pick up, the bike came out dirty and with a flat front tire- I had to ask for it to be fixed and for the staff to replace the tubeless sealant, along with requesting valve caps. I'm also a woman, and don't appreciate being talked down to as if I don't know anything about bikes. Dear staff, give a damn about your job, and have some pride in what you do. Also respect your customers, regardless of gender. People are spending a lot of money on your product and service. Staff seem to care more about drinking beers after work than actually providing quality service to customers. I will never be a patron here again. Advice to reader: buy a bike at a small local store where your business WILL be valued and get real, quality service. read more

These guys are pros!! I was skeptical at first due to the damage to my board and thought it would strictly be an early/ late season "rock board" from now on. I was so bummed when I brought it into Edgeworks and I decided to take a chance. I can't tell you how good these guys are. The Technician called me to discuss what happened and took extra time to make sure it was safe. Bike always rides like butter after they tune it up. One of the best customer experiences I've ever had. Very knowledgeable team, and all beyond helpful. They put up with days of me coming in demoing different skis, and hours of fielding questions to help me get the perfect pair. That and they'll work with you to get you a great pair within your budget, and your budget will go a long way here. Also, the deals they give you with applying demo credit towards your purchase really let you shop with confidence. They'll let you demo any pair in the shop, new or used. Went here to rent bikes with my wife. These guys were super nice and helpful. The bikes were really nice as well. Cost was very reasonable. If you want to take a real ride along one of the paths, do not bother with the bikeshares as the hills would be impossible on those bikes and the expense would probably be more. read more

When I first walked in, I thought, oh boy. It's the young hipster shop, they're not going to have the time of day for me. But I was very wrong. The staff at this shop, despite being very young, are the most knowledgeable, most helpful, and most friendly ski shop staff in the entire front range. No exaggeration. Recently had one of them spend over an hour with me trying to figure out the best skis for my needs. I've been to most, if not all, of the other Front Range shops, and had mostly left them feeling confused or overwhelmed. Somehow the folks at Evo explain everything in a way that is both really helpful and easy to understand. Even when they don't carry the item they suggest as best for my uses. Can't express how badly I miss Matt and Edgeworks. Corporate customer service has most certainly taken over here at evo. I just went in to purchase ski boots and waited there for about 15 minutes only to be asked if I was on the list. What list? Certainly not an intuitive process and I was told to add my name to a list on an iPad that isn't even in the boot area. I then told them that I knew what I wanted and simply wanted to try on a couple of pairs. A nice woman told me that she would grab someone to pull those for me to try on. The nice gentlemen brought me out a couple of options and unfortunately they didn't have the boots that I was looking for so he brought out something else. It was at this point that the two guys that were helping me went to the back to check if the boot that I wanted was online. The manager then came up to me and asked me if the stack of boots in front of me were mine. I answered "yes" to which he replied "See, this is why we have a list. You are taking away resources that are helping in other areas. It's one thing to try on a couple of boots and another to need a boot fitter and try on all of these". I didn't need a boot fitter, I am born and raised here and skied since I was 3...now I'm 44...I'm good. I didn't ask for all of the other options, the guys were just nice enough to bring out a few things on their own. I was thinking, why didn't they add me to the list in the beginning? And why were these guys helping me try on boots if the "list" was such a requirement. He proceeded to talk to me as if I was a 5 year old lecturing me about the list. The couple next to me weren't on the list either but a boot fitter helped them without a proper scolding about the list. I put my shoes back on and the guys that were helping me came back out to show me another option and let me know that the boot that I came in for was in fact available online. I told them about my experience only to find out that there wasn't even a wait on the so called list. All of that for nothing and I walked out. Just ordered my boots from Larson's instead of Evo due to a completely unnecessary lecture by the store manager. This is such a microcosm of what has happened to this wonderful state. read more

Couple of quick thoughts. There are couple of negative reviews of this ski bike shop. Having been a customer of this fine establishment over the last 15 or more years I can only surmise that the postings here with one or two stars are coming from transplanted todie trustivites wearing their thin ribbed Patagonia jackets and sporting more attitude than Justin Bieber during a deposition. Give me a break. This shop rocks it. Super friendly and most importantly, knowledgeable staff. The owner is on site and cares about the product that goes out the door. I went in yesterday and purchased three sets of new bindings for install on some new skis and had another two sets of skis that needed a full tune. I paid up and left. When I got home and looked at my receipt they had taken 20% off of my total bill for a volume discount without my asking. I guess they go by the old saying that pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered. Most importantly, support your locally owned shop. Colorado Ski and Golf and the evil Sports Authority have enough money and business. Support this fine business. read more

THese guys know how to treat customers and went above and beyond to get us set up properly. Excellent customer service and outstanding people. I just bought a used bike and needed a simple adjustment, something I couldn't do myself and I heard good things about this place so I took it in. I was not at all prepared for the treatment. At first I just explained what I wanted done to see if I needed to make an appointment or leave it there or whatever. The guy got impatient with me and said something like, "Why don't you just bring it in and we'll start with that." Like I wasn't explaining myself properly or using the 'correct' terminology. Then he started asking all these questions as to where I got the bike and have I ridden it yet, and who was going to be fitting me, etc. I guess some of the questions were valid, but it's more like the tone that was behind the questions that had me feeling uneasy. So, he did what I needed to have done, and it only took less than a couple minutes and I was really thankful and pleased and he walked away saying, "The next time you come in, why don't you have us do something REAL?" Slightly confused, I turned to the girl at the counter and asked her how much I owed and she said nothing and continued by explaining that he said what he said because it was a small job and he wasn't going to charge me for it. I tried to insist on paying something, but she said no. OK, passive-aggressive much? I'm perfectly fine with paying for even a small job if it's something I can't do myself and you're helping me out. With that kind of treatment, you can betcha I won't be in to pay you to do something REAL! read more

Had a problem with my shifter- went in expecting to have some cables adjusted or possibly be told that I needed a new shifter- instead they cleaned the shifter and gave me some tips on how I could keep them working until I was ready to replace them and did not charge me. I was in Denver for a day and needed some transportation around the metro so I went to the bicycle Dr. Edgeworks. The people in there were as friendly as it gets especially to outsiders. In a few minutes they rented me a lightweight hybrid bicycle all day for only $20. This is the best bicycle shop I have ever been to and I would highly recommend this place to purchase one of the used bikes they sell or just to rent. They took my debit card info and never ran my card because I wanted to pay cash. If you want the best for your money go here. I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

A great shop. I am a total gear freak and consider myself very discerning when it comes to bike mechanics. They usually get your bike back to you the next day or even the same day. It's a small shop and you always get the opportunity to talk directly with mechanic, usually they throw your bike up on stand and give you an immediate pre-diagnosis. The mechanics are knowledgable but don't have attitudes. Plus, their labor charges are extremely reasonable. I've never brought a pair of skis here, but I plan do as soon as the need arises. If you care about your gear and don't want to overpay, this is the place to go. read more

This store and its staff is amazing, I will never go anywhere else for skiing and snowboard gear! I came in today for two things - to repair a small damage on my snowboard and to buy new snowboard boots, finally giving up on my almost-new boots that were too narrow for my duck feet. For the snowboard repair, they looked at my snowboard, explained that the damage was only cosmetic, and simply waxed my board for free! For the snowboard boot fitting, Marissa was assigned to me. I had my boot with me as size comparison. I wasn't going to ask if anything could be done to the old boot to make it fit better since I had already heat molded it twice without getting the fit good enough. However, Marissa checked my size, said that the old boot should be able to fit and then she worked on it (with heat and pressure, not simply heat molding on my foot but by pressing on the lining by hand) until it did. It was a busy day and my husband had to get my second boot so it resulted in some extra wait time - Marissa apologized for the wait time and gave us beer! In the end my boots felt great and I wasn't even charged! It would have been so much easier and short-term more profitable to simply sell me a new boot, which would have fit me worse in the end (since sizing up would have meant worse heel grip). Instead, Marissa's great customer service and her expertise in getting my boots fitted made such a great impression on me and will definitely keep me coming back to Evo every time I need new gear. If you don't want to read the whole review, in summary: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER DEALT WITH, ANYWHERE!! I recently went to Edgeworks with my snowboard and a coupon that read "$30 Coupon! To be used for ONE MOUNT or ONE QUICK TUNE". Upon checkout, the receipt that was given to me suggested that my total was over $30. I clarified with the woman at the front desk that the coupon would be deducted upon pickup (turnaround time an entire week later), and she said "No, i already applied the discount." Confused, I looked over the receipt and coupon again to make sure I had not misread anything, and pointed out that what I had given her was a COUPON good for $30, to be used for a quick tune. After being very short with me, she called the manager over who, before having any idea what the situation was demanded, very abrasively, "What do you want?!" I was taken aback and honestly shocked for a second at his incredible lack of customer service, but then I explained to him that as I understood it, I was to receive a quick tune on my board, free of charge. He looks at me and says "Enough with the coupon, what do you want!!?" I said, "Well, sir, Id like to get my board tuned up, as per this deal that your store printed." "Ill do it for 25 bucks but thats the lowest, who do you think I am? Im not just going to give away a free tune!!" I said "Sir, im not trying to rip you off, Im just showing you how everybody else to whom you've distributed these to is understanding the deal" Even after admitting that the coupon was printed incorrectly on HIS part, he refused to honor it (apparently he intended his $35 dollar tune to be discounted to $30...which, if you ask me, or anybody, should be written as "$5 dollar coupon". Or maybe "$5 dollars off." Or maybe "10% off a tune".) So either he intentionally mis-wrote the coupon to attract people or he honestly, at least in this situation, displayed an incredible lack of common sense. He continued to be unbelievably disrespectful and talked down to me while messing around with other things literally around the corner where I could not even see him. I promptly left and will not be returning to that establishment, nor will anybody, if I can help it. Customers do not deserve that sort of treatment, and I truly hope anybody reading this review will take their business elsewhere. read more
