Great place to get an expertly fitted boot. Spend the time to get to know your skiing style, foot shape etc and then try on various boots. Offer one year of feee adjustments as you break in the boots. Did take about 4-5 ski days to break them in and one small minor adjustment but feel great. There's a reason these guys have five stars, they earn them. First of all, the shops dogs are adorable, 11/10, would pet again. Now the boots. I think it's important to start with: my calves are huge, like 20" around. Boots have always been the worst part about skiing for me, my feet always fell asleep and my toes always hurt. I finally gave up on skiing because of the boots. I was going to write a long-winded review about each and everything they did right with me (a long list), instead I'll just put it as simply as I can: when I got my new boots I cried actual tears of joy. Went in with an idea of what I thought I needed adjusted on my new boots from early 2020. I got the full service treatment from the staff. Foot measured, my current inserts reviewed and evaluated, and given some options on what would work to solve my problem. (numbness) Turns out - my older inserts were taking up way too much space in my boot, which was causing my feet to fall asleep due to lack of blood flow. I ended up going with new, lower volume, custom inserts and after skiing for 6 hours today, I can say with confidence - problem solved! Thanks guys! read more

In a hockey game I took a heavy slapshot to the top of my foot which resulted in a permanent raised bump. My old ski boots, never really comfortable before, were now a torture device on my left foot. I was ready to give up skiing due to the immediate, constant pain whenever I had the old boots on. Although I was skeptical, Boot Mechanics' money back guarantee gave me the confidence to give a custom boot fitting a shot. Best decision I've made in a while! They analyzed my instep, foot width, my left foot's injury, etc. and then had me try on 2 pairs. I did not instantly feel pain upon tightening the boots. This was a welcomed improvement right away. They were not at all pushy which I appreciated. I opted to invest in custom footbeds as well. I took these home and compared them to some SuperFeet footbeds I had made a few years ago at a well-known large sporting goods store. The Boot Mechanics beds did a far superior job of molding to the contours of my feet to provide the proper support. It wasn't even close. The owner was so great. I had a rough day on the slopes with my boot KILLING my calves for the first time ever. I thought I was going to need a major fix. The guy took the time to adjust a couple things on my boots and adjust/tape my heel lifts which had significantly shifted. All for no charge with an offer to come back if that didn't do the trick. I highly recommend Boot Mechanics! I'm a very challenging person to fit boots to. My feet are short and wide, and my calves are monstrous. And having been (years ago) a ski instructor who spent six days per week in ski boots, I've known the difference between good fitting boots and only moderately well fitting boots. So I'm very picky. I bought a pair of boots and footbeds from Jeremy. It took three visits to get these boots dialed in because you really can't tell how well they will work until you test them on the slopes. Well, Jeremy never gave up tweaking this and that until they were right, and this was all covered by my original purchase price. He really stands behind his products and services. Update April 2018: I got a number of days skiing on these footbeds, and they're great. I can feel full contact along my foot, which helps better edge and shift weight whle telemarking. I'm five stars happy with these insoles. Original review: Four stars for now, but a potential five once I get some skiing hours on my new footbeds. Experienced skiers know that you need a good boot fit - that the boot's sole should conform to and complement the shape of your foot. Good fit helps the skier exert edge pressure on the ski, allowing better control. I was glad to find Boot Mechanics conveniently located near Lakewood. Jeremy has the same type of insole molding machine as other high end boot fitters, and he demonstrates knowledge in proper boot fit. I have a flat arch which requires support, and also my feet fall between sizes, and so boots typically fit me a bit loose. Jeremy addressed both these issues, and I could tell even in his shop that my new orthotic type insoles would feel a lot better to ski than the old off-the-shelf sport inserts I had used in previous seasons. Jeremy's fitting services are priced competitively. I recommend Boot Mechanics for anyone shopping for a boot, or looking for a better fit for the boots they already own. read more

I have been skiing for over 30 years and have purchased multiple pairs of boots and skis at the local big boxes and so called specialty retailers for years but I have never had the one-on-one attention and shopping experience compared to what Ben at The Boot Mechanics provided. They are the most genuine, honest, and knowledgeable experts that i have ever worked with. I went in thinking I needed new boots and was prepared to spend $500-$700+ on a new set of boots.
