one of the best bbq places in the area! came in towards the end of the evening and they unfortunately ran out of chicken which we were looking forward for. we settled for ribs and sausage instead. the sausage was so juicy and well seasoned. it had that satisfying snap to it as well. rubs were tender and a great smoke flavor. the sauces they had were sweet bbq, bama white sauce, and a mustard bbq. i really liked the sweet and bama sauce, but their bama sauce uses some horse radish. the sides were good but i was surprised they didn't have mac and cheese. maybe they ran out for the day since we did come later in the evening. overall, great bbq joint and it won't disappoint. read more

I think the cost for the food was pricy, The baked beans are spicy And it puts you on the spot to tip $9 (15%) to pick up your own food, seat yourself, fill your own drinks, and clean up after yourself. I would have been a millionaire if it was suggested to tip back in the day when I worked retail and people would spend $100+ where I worked. They do not have a kids menu and seemed put off when I asked if I could buy an extra bun. We ordered the brisket, and sausage (1 green Chile cheese, 1 German), potato salad, collards and a slice of key lime pie (gluten free!) to go, brought it home to eat and watch the sunset. All were outstanding! Brisket was tender and flavorful, the green chile sausage was outrageous. Both sides were awesome, my wife doesn't like collards and she ate these and enjoyed them. The good: the sausage was SO good but be prepared for the cheese in it - it's more melty than in a usual sausage. We loved the grits, best we have ever had. The baked potato casserole was cooked perfectly. The ok: the pulled pork was not bad, but not something we would get again. Just basic. The not so good: the creamed corn tasted frozen, like it had that weird texture, and was just kind of blah. The jalepeno cornbread was awful. Dry, no jalepeno or cheddar flavor (yes I did confirm it was jalepeno by the jalepeno pepper baked in). I'd come back for the grits and sausage alone though, they were that good. read more

Arrived at 5pm on a week night. We walked right up to order. The smells are amazing when you walk in. We ordered 2/2meat plates, with drinks Total was $58, not too bad. Within minutes of ordering it was ready. This is a sit down place, but you order at the counter. They call your order when it's ready. Let me just say, we're from Texas! So we definitely know our barbecue and flavors. I can say that this is one of the best barbecues I've had in a long time. The bark on the sliced brisket was very heavily peppered. But the smoke ring was spot on. Very tender and juicy. I got the sliced beef and ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone, very tender, and with a dry rub. He got sliced turkey and jalapeño sausage. He said it was really flavorful. Lots of snap on the sausage casing. Their sides looked amazing! We opted for the potato salad, and potato salad casserole. They both taste the same, one was hot and one was cold. But very delicious. They do also have desserts there as well. Will have to go back and try that the next visit. Awesome!! My wife and I visited today and the food and service were amazing. We had turkey, brisket and pulled pork and all three were amazing. Seasoned and smoked perfectly, all three were moist and flavorful. The service was amazing as well. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. Wanted something different than fried shrimp and fries so we tried this Barbecue restaurant on 98 it wasn't crowded at all. I wanted chicken but saw a sign they were out of that and Beef ribs. So we got pork ribs and spicy sausage both were good the sausage was a bit spicy with cheese but was good and a piece of bread helped. The barbecue beans were good and the collards were also. There is a variety of different desserts which all look good but we opted for key lime pie and it was delicious. The restaurant has different hours throughout the week some days they were closed earlier than normal. It's very clean and big inside tables are spaced out. There is outside seating in the back but the tables are all high top. The one complaint I will say when serving the collards maybe put less liquid because the paper container soaks up or serve them in a plastic throw away container. read more
