People of Yelp: I exhort you to hire Pavel for your man-with-van needs. (I combed through Yelp's listings, but couldn't find one for him; I hope this isn't a double-listing.) Coming on the heels of a bad roommate break-up, I found myself in a spankin' new apartment, but without a stick of seating. Through craigslist, I found two things that made me ridiculously happy: my couch, and Pavel. But this is a review of neither craigslist, nor my couch. First of all, reaching Pavel was very easy; he actually answers the phone. More importantly, Pavel listened to what I was asking for, and then gave his tips about how to make the move smoother. His rate was competitive to other men-with-vans, and he went down a little teeny bit from there. Pavel was very prompt, and I found him waiting outside the building when I walked up. He's very gregarious and enthusiastic about his work, and I glowed like a proud parent when he complimented my couch. His assistant was also prompt, and professional. He swaddled my couch in record time, and then Pavel even gave me a ride in his van up to my apartment. He and his assistant brought my couch to my apartment, and didn't scratch the floor, damage my couch, or loot my stuff. Dare I even say I enjoyed a moving experience? Heresy! I cannot begin to explain how great Everday Movers is. My boyfriend and I bought a large kitchen table and five chairs off of craigslist and hired Everyday Movers to help me bring it to my apartment. Unlike other "man with a van" companies, Everyday Movers answered all of my phone calls and even responded to my texts. On the day of the move, they arrived ten minutes early and patiently awaited our arrival. Even though we hadn't hired them to help us transport the items into the van, they eagerly assisted in loading the van and ensured that all of our furniture was protected. They drove us across town (NYC) without charging extra and maneuvered in and out traffic, with a friendly and optimistic attitude the whole time. I would definitely recommend Everyday Movers to anyone and everyone. If I never need help moving anything in the future, I will be sure to call them. I've hired movers many times before, and this was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE. I found them on Craigslist to move a couch from Midtown to Gramercy. Found them probably 3 days before the job. It was a TERRIBLE experience - 1) Pavel was non communicative and rude the entire time. They were supposed to arrive at the pickup spot between 11:30-12:30pm... 1pm rolled around and I still haven't heard from them..... I text Pavel and he says they're late because they're busy. Period. No other explanation or apologies. Pavel continues to tell me 15 mins, 15 mins... until the movers finally show up at 3pm.. And that's when I found out that Pavel wasn't even part of the moving crew I had hired! So it was like a game of telephone - me calling the driver that Pavel then gave me the number for.... 2) They had ONE job.. to move a sofa securely. When it arrived to my place, the sofa had a broken leg that wasn't there before. The mover insisted he had picked it up like that... which is impossible because I saw the couch 2 days before! I didn't really want to deal with the company's incompetency anymore, so I didn't feel like arguing after a stressful day. I'm very surprised at the positive reviews - don't know where they came from. read more

So, Pavel seems really great, and clearly this company does good work much of the time as evidenced by the reviews. But I think he may need to vet his crew a little better? The guys who showed up for this job were kind of rude from the start, there was no communication w/ us - I think partially a language problem, but for example they started shoving the item being moved through a space without moving things that were in the way first. They then shoved the item up a flight of concrete stairs without padding it at all, massively damaging the item, etc. like not even trying. I did not trust them to finish the job, so I paid them to leave the item there and hired another moving company, who came and did a careful job and caused no further damage to the piece. Bottom line they left with $80 of my money and the item (which had been in pristine condition and now looks like total crap) was still at the place of origin. read more

Used these guys over the weekend to move some boxes in Manhattan. Pavel was very responsive over text and helped me figure out what was needed for my move. Unfortunately on the day of, there was no communication at the time I was meant to meet them, and my call with the manager was not a pleasant one (I was essentially told to go outside and see if there was a van there - if there is, then they're here.) Umm... that's not really good communication / customer service. It would've been better to have received the driver's phone number in advance so customers aren't left confused at the time of pick up. Not the type of person to leave a review but this one time I just had to... Used Everyday Movers yesterday morning and 2 movers showed up, one smelling of alcohol, which honestly didn't matter because I just needed to move and get it over with. Of my own personal belongings I had only 1 box, a t.v, and a mattress, everything was my roommate's so naturally I know exactly what I had packed in my 1 and ONLY box that belonged to me. I brought the box to the door and asked the mover if he needed help and he said no, didn't see the box again until I opened it this morning to take out my phone charger to find a few items missing, including my phone charger. Worst feeling EVER. Not only did I tip them and help them walk up and down and move, did they stick a hand in a box they thought was just things thrown in and take out what was valuable to me. I contacted Pavel and told him, he said "we do not steal" and check again all your boxes not knowing that I had only 1 box, I know exactly what I packed in my 1 BOX! It went from my dresser to my 1 BOX... The feeling of having paid someone, mind you the mover said $325 and with a tip I gave $400, to have paid that and have that feeling that someone stole of you, is priceless. For someone to come into your home and help you move and then go behind your back and take your belongings is priceless. I JUST WANT MY STUFF BACK! Pavel the owner made no attempt, just said "we don't steal"... No comfort at all from the owner of the company, no attempt made to fix the issue, none whatsoever. Just a text "we don't steal".. okay bye.... BUYER BEWARE... If you have ever had something stolen from you I'm sure you understand. Don't even deserve 1 star read more

Jason was very careful with my furniture and he loaded my Uhaul van so well that he fit what I thought would take 2 loads into one (which saved me a lot of time and money). avoid this moving company at all costs. worst experience ever and the 2 ghetto movers that showed up at my apartment stole my stuff during the move. they stole 200$ of change out of my change bank, thousands of dollars worth of jewlery, and my amazon firestick. not to mention they quoted me 250$ for the cost of the move then after they loaded up their dinky van they said i owe them another 100$ because of the amount of time the move was taking. heres an idea maybe if you werent rummaging through my stuff finding items to steal, the move wouldnt have taken so long. i refused to give another 100$ for the cost of the move but i did tip each mover 60$. then they have the audacity to steal from me? one mover was tall and black with tear drops tatooed under his eye and the other was a short spanish guy. avoid this company they are scammers!!!!!! read more

I live in an apt complex in San Diego. Everyday Movers rolls up, opens the truck and starts bringing boxes into the truck. They move slowly, and they curse up a storm. This is a residential neighborhood with kids around (it is summer time). Watch your language! Additionally, they block the entire area to get from the parking cars to the apartments. You never heard of leaving a path!!! How rude for everyone in this apartment complex. As I said, they are moving slowly, they are cursing, and they are blocking tenants from getting to their cars without walking through a maze of boxes. i would never recommend this company to anyone. I called and they were available the next day to move some furniture, paintings, and art supplies from the 4th floor to the basement. Two men arrived on time and worked for about 3.5 hours. They quoted me a flat rater of $65/man/hour. We provided all the moving equipment (hand trucks and packing tape). They worked well with my husband and consistently until the job was done. I've known and used the services of the owner, Pavel, for at least 3 years, and he is always ready, able and willing to provide a thoroughly professional, efficient and fairly priced level of service whenever you need him. I recently hired EM to move a few pieces for me that I purchased at Housing Works. Naturally, I didn't want to pay more for the move than the furniture actually cost me!!! HW only gives you two days to pick-up furniture and suggested people who they like to use. They were impossible to understand and wanted A LOT more money. I called Pavel, and he immediately made time in his schedule for me the next day! Pavel has moved furniture for me in the past from difficult pick-up places like Jacob Javits and the NYC Pier and NEVER complains about any potential challenges or uses it as a bargaining chip.
