SMALLEST peace of bread ever! May as well be a soft crouton

I asked for bread.... Was give me a crouton size peace. . All other portions where fines meat was very dry!

BYO BUILD YOUR OWN SALAD

EVERGREENS NEVER MISSES!!! Bella provided the best service today. I tried the minty green sauce (Cholula I think?) that she recommended and it was SO delicious! She really hooked me up with portion sizes too. I also ordered a regular size salad, but with all the toppings I chose (unlimited!) she ended up putting everything in a large container so it felt like I got an upgrade haha. I got a BYO salad with mixed greens, a scoop of rice, added corn, cucumber, hummus, pickled onion, cauliflower and a whole bunch of other things. I always love adding a scoop of bacon at the end so I did that, and it rly hit today. Soooo yummy and fresh, healthy, super filling, and honestly just makes my body feel great. They really don't skimp on the portions or quality here!! Will always continue coming back. Thank you Bella!!

Yum! Came here for lunch after an interview nearby and was starving. I love big salads and this place certainly delivered. It is very similar to that of sweetgreen which I have been to a number of times on the east coast. Not sure if there are any out here yet! I did the customized salad/grain bowl option. Went with quinoa, arugula, chickpeas, lots of toppings and the caramelized onion dressing. It was so big! I really liked the flavors of all the toppings and the dressing combined. It also includes a nice chunk of focaccia bread. The staff seem very friendly but also efficient at keeping the line moving. I can imagine this place might be very busy during the lunch hour. I went around 2:30 and there were still quite a few people grabbing and going out with their salad from here to sit elsewhere. They do have indoor seating available as well. No bathroom though so you have to go around the corner for that.

My Cousin Vini Grain Bowl

Everyone is sleeping on on evergreens!!! Y'all missing out... I love the fact that you can add most toppings without having to pay more. This makes for an INCREDIBLY filling grain bowl (like, two good meals worth of food) for around $12. Not to mention the free piece of bread they also add! Also if you're a student, DONT FORGET to ask for the student discount to knock down the price a little more! There is almost never a line, unlike chipotle which is right around the corner and can have ~30 min wait at rush hour. Also, I love the customizability of the bowls! There is such a wide variety of sauces and toppings that you can really mix it up every time you go. This place is ideal for busy college students who need a quick and healthy meal without breaking the bank.

The Chipotle of salads! There's so many options here that it actually makes Chipotle look sad with the only caveat being that some of the proteins cost extra. But even without those, I ended up with a super hearty salad that was both delicious and lasted me two meals.

El Sombrero with kale

I go to evergreens for either the el sombrero or super bowl, but dang it is getting so expensive. $20 with tax/tip for a salad with protein.. would recommend adding extra toppings that are free to make it more filling and worth it. The focaccia bread it comes with is good!

Cobb Your Enthusiasm - salad and bread was super good!

Great salads and fast service! Went on a PACKED Saturday and there was no line. Got the Cobb your enthusiasm and added chicken and cucumber - they also have a UW discount if you work or go to school with UW! Bring your husky card if you have it! Fresh ingredients, fast service, delicious combinations, and no huge line - that's hard to get on a busy U Village weekend! Total recommend

Butternut squash soup

I've only ever gotten soups here, but they're super affordable (the soup pictured was $4) and flavorful! The butternut squash soup has sunflower seeds and sweet potato in it and is a great combination of flavors and textures. It doesn't stay warm for super long but is an overall great deal!

Spicy Kale Caesar Salad

I'm a huge fan of Evergreens Salad, so it's nice to know that there's a location at U-Village for whenever I'm in the area. And I do find that at this location, the staff gives you a lot of bang for your buck! I visited Evergreens Salad for lunch while shopping at U-Village and ordered one of my favorite salads, the spicy kale caesar salad. This salad has a kale base and unlike the traditional caesar salad, there's a kick to this one, as it comes with crushed jalapenos, seeds and all! I definitely recommend trying this if you like spice and caesar salads. And the employee there gave me a hefty amount, so much so that it would not fit in the large bowl I ordered. They're definitely generous here. Space for dining is spacious enough, including some tables outside where it's dog-friendly. As with its other locations, you can use your phone/rewards system here for transactions, and the menu features not just salads that you can customize, but grain bowls and wraps. I love Evergreens, so find me back here when I need a healthy meal while shopping at U-Village.

Make your own salad! Unlimited toppings!!! Love this place.

Evergreens and ever so many toppings! I am a fan. For so many reasons. This chain is similar to Pluto's, Sweetgreen, Mixt, etc. They have a choose your own or pre-made salads and wraps. But, I actually liked it better for a few reasons. 1. All the toppings! That's right. "How many toppings can I get?" "AS MANY AS YOU WANT." I don't know if this was by some error, but I got UNLIMITED TOPPINGS. Boom, done, drop dead, amazed. 2.Greek yogurt, lower calorie dressing option! This was a nice offering that other places don't have. 3. They have housemade bbq sauce you can get which you can get as a finisher - super awesome. 4. Yummy focaccia bread included. I like this better than Mixt's bread. 5. SO cheap - relatively. $9 a pop for a salad is a few dollars less than SF chains. Yes, it is still lettuce and some veggies or whatnot. And, a lot of items that cost extra at other chains are included here. 6. Also, witty names for their pre-made salads. I have an appreciation for some food humor. A healthy lunch option at UVillage! Plus, UNLIMITED TOPPINGS - whether accidental or not, I will take it!

They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good.

Nice that they have regular test, low test and no test drinks depending on how much alcohol you want. Food was very tasty, we had the lobster pasta and the fajitas. The tortillas were very flimsy so messy but still nice flavor and good amount of food.. started with the hummus which is what I was told to try there and yes a creative hummus plate... which brings me to the only hiccup... The chef gets creative at times and apparently edamame is in season so randomly added to the hummus even though not on the menu. Found out half way through then had to verify what beans they were and couldn't eat rest of dish. Server was awesome about it and wasn't a problem but if you have any allergies be aware the menu MAY not be exact so make sure you ask if there are any "enhancements" if you have any known issues. Overall highly recommend.

But a couple other things just spoiled it.... Service was slow, the server mostly absent, and the starters and the main dishes were served all at once. I wonder what the server was thinking a "starter" was supposed to be.... This was during an evening in February and the place was way overheated , I estimated something close to 80F where we were sitting. Cocktails were fine and I will come back to just sit at bar for that, but the dinner experience was just not for me at Joey's.

First visit I got The Emerald city Dumplings - "Tender steamed dumplings filled with a savory blend of chicken, fresh vegetables, and aromatic herbs. Served with our signature Chili Crunch and house Sweet Soy and finished with green onion and roasted sesame." In short, good, but they lacked a lot of what was described and only partly resembled what the picture looks like. At almost $15 a tad steep. On a follow up visit I shared a --Braised Pork Gua Bao - Seattle-style char siu, tender and juicy 8hr-slow cooked pulled pork, sriracha aioli, sweet pickled purple onion, garnished with cilantro and sesame. Again, very good, but pretty much $9 a pork bao, $18.50 in total. We also got the Savory Jade Pork & Chili Wontons I believe which were good, but not as good as the Emerald City Dumplings which I recommend out of the bunch. SDH is wisely posted up right next to Sea Monster so when there is a break in a show, waves of people come out to order food. The food is decent, but you can do way better at the nearby 'Dumpling the Noodle' just a couple blocks away both for quality and presentation. SDH does have being open late to its advantage being open until passed 2AM, however. I also don't like how you must order through QR and fumble around the website on your phone to order which I'm sure makes it manageable on the staff but it's a peeve of mine. If you're out late though and don't want Dicks, but dumplings instead at a bit of a premium price point, SDH isn't bad.

It wasn't even busy. Most recently, we were seated near the window when someone came in and asked to watch the baseball game. The staff turned the bar TV volume up so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. While we understand it's a sports-friendly environment, that level of noise didn't match the pricing or atmosphere we expected. Sports bars don't usually serve burgers that cost $26. We could have moved, but didn't anticipate such a dramatic change for one patron. We're grateful for the great memories over the years, but it's clear the experience has shifted, and not in a direction that works for us anymore.

I had to skip the meat lasagna which sounded good because their sausage has fennel seeds in it which I am allergic to, which left me with the personal pepperoni pizza to work with. The pizza was much better than I expected from the look of it. It had a nice flavor to it. The tiramisu was very yummy, soft lady fingers dipped in a nice liquor and layered with sweet cocoa powder. It's worth a stop here just to get a slice of tiramisu for take away. As far as returning for another meal here I guess I'll have to pass the next time around and see if there is something a little less high end presentation and find something geared a bit more general public.
