Excellent food for a price that's hard to beat. I love the cheese bread from Brazilian steak houses and here they use it to make great sandwiches!

Great options for small bites, coffee, and fantastic Portuguese bread! The Açaí bowl was a little pricey, and the topping options were limited, but still very good. Note that if you add protein to an açaí bowl, they don't mix it into the base, but this, while strange to me, is clearly stated on the menu. The menu has several other options though of small, fresh sandwiches and breads that are more reasonably priced. They have a small section of Portuguese groceries near the back which was a nice touch -- this includes frozen bread to make at home! The staff were very friendly, but the service was a little slow. The space has plenty of small group seating, fitting 2-4 per table. Near greenlake park, and a good place to grab a snack!

I went to Kitanda for the first time a couple weeks ago with some friends after a walk around the lake. I ordered the Frutas açaí bowl and an original Brazilian cheese bread. I really liked how fresh the fruit was and the taste was superb! The cheese bread was also delicious and warm, a nice complement to the cold smoothie bowl. My only complaint about the açaí, was that my bowl was very cold and parts of it were still frozen. My friends ordered the same açaí bowl, but their bowls were much more smoothie like in texture. Seemed like it was simply a fluke!

I usually get the Frutas or Energy Blast açaí bowls here. Service is quick and standard. It's pretty dark inside, so I tend to take my bowl to go. I noticed today that they raised their prices again. My 10oz Frutas bowl was $12.45. I'd still come back as a treat!

Went here at around 8/9 in the morning and there were about two other guests while we were here. The staff were really nice and friendly and it's a nice spot only a few blocks away from the lake. Overall it was a nice spot and the coffee shake was good and the smoothie was alright, probs wouldn't go back but nothing against it. Mocha -7/10 not too sweet, pretty good. Decent amount of chocolate flavor, not heavy coffee flavor Tropical mango smoothie -6/10. Didn't get a strong mango flavor which I wanted, but it was there and it tasted alright

Super friendly service, a fantastic mocha, and the best Brazilian cheese bread! Perfect for a quick breakfast -- they have acai cups and bowls in a variety of flavors (although I wish they used fresh mango instead of dried). I got mochas here twice in a week and it was perfectly sweet, indulgent, and packed a great punch of caffeine. Their greatest hit is their cheese bread though. Love the bite sized ones! Delicately crisp, savory, and filled with delicious melty, chewy, cheesy interior.

Drinks were yummy and decently priced! Ordered 2 iced vanilla lattes and 1 americano with cream. Coffee flavor was bold and leaned more caramel, which I love. Service was fast, and the shop featured a very unique abstract wall (featured in photo). Location is great! Great if you're visiting the GreenLake downtown area and need a quick pick me up. They offer a variety of pastries and house made breads.

In the PCC plaza you will find this little coffee shop (dare I call it that). This place is great. The food is great. But has European portions (small), which isn't a bad thing. I can eat a Romeo & Kuliet in about 5"4 small bites. It just teaches me to score the flavors. The secret is in their breads. It's unique to me. Sometime you can just taste healthy. Keep me honest. Try it yourself!

How I heard of this place: A friend from Brazil introduced us to Kitanda when she was in search of a piece of home, and it's been a place we have returned to ever since. Type of cuisine: All things Brazilian in terms of quick-bite snacks, acai bowls and novelty beverages. Ambiance: Not unlike other coffee shops, the space is run-of-the-mill with an order counter, cashier area and glass encased displays of the available foods/pastries. Dark brown tones, with yellow and purple seem to be the theme of eacf of the establishments we have visited throughout the greater Seattle area. What I ordered: We have ordered everything from acai bowls, to acai smoothies, chicken cones, cheese bread and more. What I loved: The favorites were always the delectable bites of savory goodness - chicken cones and cheese bread, but the acai bowls always taste fresh and full of vibrant life. Why I loved it: It's simple, but new; a great way to enjoy your typical espresso beverages and smoothies, but in a novel treat. Cost: Average

Romeo & Juliet ($3.99) and Energy Blast ($9-10)
    Wendi K.

I absolutely love the Kitanda chain (acai bowls are a pinch to find around Seattle!) and the Greenlake location does not disappoint. The Romeo and Juliet ($3.99) was a delicious snack and the Lena bowl ($6.99) was also fresh, well made and yummy. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The restaurant has a nice comfy feeling to it. The food was okay. I got the Nutella bun. I'd be careful on how you're eating it because it could get messy

They don't just have salads at the salad bar. All the sides such as rice, potatoes, fish, soup, with all the fixings are there. People come around to the tables with the meat on large skewers and cut at your table. Beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. It can be pretty overwhelming if you are not a big meat eater. There was a good selection of desserts. Most of us shared. I had the crème brûlée and shared it with the husband. After 3 spoonfuls, I was done, but it was so good. The wait staff and the folks serving the meats were very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was kind of noisy, but it was really crowded. Of course, it was Mother's Day. So even with a reservation we still had to wait. There were 14 of us. Of course we had to wait to get enough tables together for us to be seated. My only complaint was the waiting area. I get it. It's Mothers Day. People were waiting outside on the sidewalk because there wasn't enough room in the waiting area. They should invest in those beepers for when our table is ready. Otherwise, it was a nice experience.

That said, there were a few things that kept the experience from feeling as good as it should have. For the first 30 to 45 minutes, we kept seeing the same meats while several of the premium cuts never made it to our table unless we specifically asked for them. They eventually came, but at this price point, guests shouldn't have to keep requesting the signature cuts. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria without being given a drink menu or told it was $48. Finding that out when the check arrived was definitely a surprise. We also didn't learn until the end of the meal that our 25% off promotion wasn't valid on weekends. As the night went on, the service dropped off quite a bit. After about an hour, it started to feel like our table was being overlooked and that it was time for us to wrap things up. We also weren't fans of the three-payment limit for larger groups, which made settling the bill more complicated than it needed to be. We'd still be willing to come back because the food was genuinely good, but next time we'll probably keep it simple, skip the sangria, and avoid bringing a larger party. There's a lot of potential here, but the overall experience needs to match the quality and price of the food.

The restaurant looked very modern and elevated, with great mood lighting, as well as a very fresh-smelling bathroom. We came for the full churrasco experience, and it was not as good as I expected, since the meat, except for the filet mignon, was a bit chewy and not very tender. The market table was phenomenal, and it had great variety, with a delicious tomato mozzarella bisque as the soup of the day, and a variety of fresh fruits to choose from, ranging from papayas to oranges. Additionally, the sides, especially the cheese bread, were scrumptious. Overall, the experience was unique and the food was decent, but if you have a low sodium tolerance like me, everything would be really, really salty. PS: it was $72 per person, and not really worth the price unless if you can really eat a lot (it only took a few pieces for me to feel full). I recommend fasting before coming.

But that's not my style so here I go... First off, the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant as you immediately step inside is spectacular. It's elegant but with a casual feel. Or maybe it was its casual with an elegant vibe... either way, you cannot go wrong. Depending on the time of day, if the wait is long, I'd suggest grabbing a drink from the full bar. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and headed over to the salad bar/cold cuts and grabbed some select items. I'm always careful to not overload on the trimmings as I'm here for the various cuts of meats. Pretty simple process. You flip your marker (green) over for cuts of meat being offered and over again (red) if you want to enjoy your meal. Then on and off again. The skewers of meat are divine, ranging from bacon wrapped chicken, to sausages, to a variety cuts and cooked beef, pork, or lamb. I opted for a 6oz. Lobster tail dripping in succulent butter, as well! Such an amazing experience! Thank you to the staff of Fogo and all of the chefs... hats off to you! As always, enjoy and Happy Sampling!

Again the sauces truly were the showstoppers with making each bite superb. The presentation here is also fantastic. Our banana bread pudding came with fresh fruit and I wasn't expecting a whole fruit fruit plate with cheese and crackers with an amazing fig jam that paired well with everything. There was also a pianist playing beautiful tunes to make the night even more special with tableside shows going on throughout the restaurant.
