Veggie Grill does something special that always keeps me coming back for more. On this visit, we tried the Caesar Crunch Salad with added Chik'n Tenders and a Beyond Steak Filet with chimichurri, herb‑roasted potatoes, and garlic griddled broccoli. I'm always excited to see a vegan Caesar on the menu -- it's not something you find everywhere -- and I loved that I could order a small size since I wasn't super hungry (and their portions can be generous). My husband couldn't stop talking about the Beyond Steak. The texture was absolutely on point and left him wondering how they even pull that off. The chimichurri was a perfect complement and really brought the dish together. I'll also note that I prefer this Veggie Grill location over the downtown one -- it feels cleaner, more spacious, and offers plenty of seating options. A reliable spot for satisfying, crave‑able vegan food. read more

3.5 / 4.0 - We stopped by Veggie Grill for lunch. They seemed to be short-staffed, so our food took time to be served, but we had a good lunch. I had the Avocado Bacon Cobb and sweet potato fries. The salad didn't look very large and I didn't love the "bacon," but the rest was good and it was actually quite filling. The sweet potato fries were crispy, with maybe a bit too much batter, but it was ok. It's a good option if you're looking for a casual vegan spot. read more

Long time Veggie Grill patron and fan here. I love their U Village location, we almost always stop here when in the area. I love their big menu, so many delicious things to pick from. On my most recent visit I tried the farmhouse chicken sandwich. It was my first time trying Yo Egg, and it was so good! Definitely messy because the egg runs like real egg when you cut into it, but it was delicious. My husband had a burger which he really enjoyed. We like the variety of sides you can get here now! Their salads, bowls, and nachos are also amazing. The cafe is spacious with lots of seating. Staff has always been very nice and welcoming. read more

Veggie Grill *June 2, 2025 *11am- Monday *5 Stars Seating/ Environment: *Self Seating *Lots of Parking *Self Service Kiosk Food/Drink: *Mushroom Tacos *Kimchi Veggie Bowl I checked out this Veggie Grill near UW for lunch and had a pretty solid experience. I've had vegan food here and there, but this spot definitely stood out. The mushroom tacos were flavorful with a good bite to them, and the kimchi veggie bowl had a nice kick without being too much. Everything tasted fresh and came out quickly. It wasn't busy at all when I went, so finding a seat was no problem--pretty ideal for a chill lunch. Parking was also way easier than I expected for a campus area, which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even though it's a counter-order setup, they made sure everything was smooth. I'd come back to try more of the menu if I lived around here. read more

I've been coming here for years and I really love the marketing of Veggie Grill. The atmosphere is bright and the decor is minimalist and warm. Service has always been great and the various GM's and managers that circle through really give it their all. I appreciate the hard working cooks and prep staff getting orders out and you can hear and see preparation of food in the open kitchen. As this is fast and convenient food, it is also thoughtful and balanced. If one doesn't want the faux chicken or beef then they can opt out. There are lots of fresh salads and healthy options to choose from. I like that Veggie Grill has its own vegetarian identity. The food tastes really good and it doesn't try to be something it isn't. I say this because some vegetarian restaurants try to make their food as close to non plant base as possible and the end product may be not come out right. Thanks for keeping my belly full. My go to's have been the fish tacos, the kale salad, and buffalo wraps. So good. read more

Down to 2 stars. Just went back and buried in my receipt was a new 5% charge of "Seattle Operating Fee" Interesting, because I live in Seattle and eat at a lot of different places and this is the first I've seen. Maybe everyone else just raises their prices but Veggie Grill wants to add this bogus fee to my purchase? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Sorry, I won't be back until you take away the fee. read more

Holiday Feast 2025 Served 5 people, some of whom had seconds, and had enough leftovers for a full lunch myself the next day! We were all impressed with the quality of the meal. The only carnivore, I found the feast DELICIOUS! Oven-ready containers, and the heating instructions were clear and enabled a efficient everything-ready-at-the-same-time presentation at the table. Incredible value for the price. Highly recommend!!! read more

We were in the village so decided to stop by here for lunch. Ordered both the veggie burgers on menu and Buddha Bowl as well as fries. Food was acceptable. Butternut squash was particularly tasteless. Service was good. They don't have many drink options so we ended up getting coffee at Starbucks instead. read more

First time trying out this place. The hydration smoothie is so tangy it's hard to drink. The Mac n cheese was not very cheesy, had a weird flavor, and the slightest spiciness to it. The tiny chocolate cake, which the cashier assured me was good, is good but more fudge top and little actual cake. My meal was $31 plus change for a 14oz smoothie, snack size mac n cheese and small piece of cake. They do have student discount of 20% but the sign is (in)conveniently located around the counter after you pay, I obviously do not see this until after paying which was disappointing. Also the guy who is calling names when food is done, does so very softly and my food sat, smoothie melting, for quite a while before he called the name again, I wasn't the only person who was waiting for food that was done and did not hear him call the name. They also need an extra employee to maintain the dining room better. The cashier is swamped and doesn't have a lot of time to wipe tables between customers, when I arrived the seats and almost every table was dirty. In my hour long visit I saw her try her best to keep up but the constant stream of customers in line made it hard for her to get anything else done. I think this is one place I can confidently say I'd skip next time. read more

This is for the catering. WOW. Veggiegrill catered a large dinner (~100 people) for us with many folks who normally eat meat. They were responsive, friendly, set up a beautiful couple of tables, and the guests absolutely demolished the tacos. Not a single taco left. They also were happy to make up a custom meal for a guest with dietary restrictions. I'm amazed at how good the food was and how friendly the staff and catering coordinator were. Definitely will look at them for my next large party. read more

Slimy filth covering every surface, including the silverware and cups they give you. The toilet seat in the women's bathroom has been dangerously loose for many many months (6+). I've complained to management and even sent an email to VG about it, but they leave it. I guess they want a lawsuit? Also, every time you walk to the bathroom you risk breaking your neck because the floor is super slick from their kitchen. The seats in their book look like someone took a knife to them, seriously. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for years! I was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I went for lunch. She had a "cheeseburger",fries and a green smoothie. I had a tempeh bowl that was lightly dressed with dressing that was sort of sweet, a bit spiced. All of the food was good. I will definitely go back, I saw other dishes I would like to try that were tofu based. My friend loved here burger. I tried the green smoothie highly recommend it. If you want a more healthful option or are vegetarian this is an excellent choice. The service was friendly and quick. The restaurant was clean if a little well-worn. read more

I've been a Veggie Grill addict since 2009 - I lived in Southern California and went a few times a month to enjoy the All Hail Kale with blackened tempeh. I'm not vegetarian but I would pick the original version of that salad over any other salad from anywhere. It had a sweet papaya ginger dressing that offset the bitterness of the kale, topped with a corn salsa that also added a bit of sweetness to balance the kale salad. We moved to Austin and I literally found a recipe for a copycat all hail kale salad so I could still have it between trips home. When we moved to Seattle, imagine my joy at finding a veggie grill less than a mile walk from my office. I ate there multiple times a week. Then the All Hail Kale was discontinued. I continued eating at Veggie Grill weekly but really missed that salad. Imagine my joy at seeing its return years later. But friends, it's terrible. The papaya ginger dressing was replaced with a mango lemon vinaigrette that taste all vinegar lemon and no mango. It's so tart that it literally hurt my mouth too much to finish. And I like sour and spicy foods so that's saying something. The corn slaw is gone, taking the tomatoes from the salad too. It was so bad. After years of waiting to see it on the menu again, I'm really disappointed. And my mouth still stings from that way too tangy dressing. Please go back to the original All Hail Kale recipe - it was a masterpiece and the new version falls so short of the original. Other than the sad salad situation, the service was quick (I ordered through the app) and friendly. The sweet potato fries and chipotle sauce are still amazing. read more

I'm not even vegan or vegetarian anymore but I go here from time to time anyway, the food is amazing and I didn't know it was vegan until my friend told me! I loved the Veggie Grill in Downtown Seattle and decided to drop by this specific location while shopping around U-Village. I would not recommend this specific location at all. The food we got was not good and tasted extremely fake/off. The mac and cheese tasted cardboardy and I don't have anything good to say about the particular entrees that we got. The service was pretty good and we were able to get our food quickly, but I really wouldn't recommend this location simply because of how bad the food tasted. read more

I don't always go to chain restaurants, but Veggie Grill is always a safe bet, even when I'm hanging out with omnivores. All vegetarian all the time, they have a small selection of beer/wine and they provide tasty cooked to order food. I've been to several Veggie Grill locations over the years and this one is basically on par with the others...just as a chain should be. Menus are provided right at the front of the door so you can sit down and decide at your leisure what you're trying to eat today. I know I always struggle a bit because there are so many options I want!! Also look around for the seasonal menu sign - there are usually 5+ more choices that aren't listed on the normal menu. This establishment had sticky all over the floor (I was wearing my hiking shoes, but still not happy), but was overall fairly clean otherwise. I decided to go with a Reuben and some mac & cheese. The sauerkraut was a bit different that other places, which isn't a bad thing, has a kinda dill pickle note to it. The mac & cheese was crazy bland and I hated it. Seems like Veggie Grill pasta items and I don't mix, never again. Overall a great place to get some good veggie friendly food. read more

I visited this vegan fast food place for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant had a variety of seating options like booths, tables, benches and bars, and the staff take your order then call out your name when your food is ready. I tried the Sante Fe Chicken Burger and Crispy Fries, and found it to be very tasty and filling. It was loaded with veggies and served on a thick whole wheat bun with a fried plant based chicken patty and vegan sauces. I would try more on their menu if I was in the area again. read more

I will be raving about this place to anyone with ears to listen. This is vegan junk food that doesn't skimp on quality, quantity or presentation - everything looks just as mouthwatering as their menu pictures. I'm amazed because the prices were the best I've ever seen (in university village, too!) and the burgers and nachos were among the best I've ever had. Inside was casually cozy, with warm lighting creating a nice ambiance. Service was prompt and friendly, the bathrooms were clean, and there weren't too many people on a Saturday night. - Southwestern Nachos ($8.50) - fully loaded with beans, guac, cheese, corn, sour cream, pickled peppers, tomato, taco meat, and extremely delicious!!! They sure don't skimp on variety. Crispy and yummy. - House Veggie Burger ($9.95) - one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Extremely moist and well balanced with pickled onions, bitter arugula and rich spicy patty. Certainly recommend to blow the minds of veggie burger skeptics everywhere (like it did mine)! - Sweet potato fries (small, $2.95) - just how they should be and loved how they were sliced like ribbons which gave them more crispiness. Chipotle aioli was good but it didn't stand out. - Reuben on Rye ($11.50) - a little salty and oily but my meat-eater friend couldn't believe it wasn't meat! It a bit lacking in texture but otherwise hit the spot. Bread was done just right with a big crunch. Again, the prices! The high quality food!! The deliciousness!!! I had my doubts but it just completely blew me away. Veggie Grill is a must-try for everyone. read more

I really love this Veggie Grill location. It has a lot of Vegan options and they are incredible. I especially like the buffalo chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, and nachos. I also enjoy the bbq Mac burger. Whatever your taste, I am sure they have an option for you. I also like their selection of beverages and organic sodas. Their carrot cake is also one of the most delicious vegan carrot cakes I have ever eaten. The staff is always friendly and their service is prompt. The burger was edible, but the middle was cold so I didn't eat half of it. When I ordered I asked for ketchup and ranch and was waved off and then served a mystery dipping sauce that was very good but not what I ordered. I tried one bite of the chocolate pudding and it was like putting acid in your mouth. It was so sour and very obviously spoiled. I had to spit it out. I have ordered this same dessert at the downtown location and know what it normally tastes like. You can even see clearly in the photo that everything is separating and the topping is clumpy and "curdling". I've been to the Veggie Grill in downtown Seattle and loved it so much. I'm not unopposed to veggies by any means, but Veggie Grill is not my idea of fast food when I'm in the mood for something quick (and by extension, something greasy and fried). Nevertheless, I was really impressed by how flavorful, filling, and how NOT boring the Chipotle Harvest Bowl was for being a bowl full of nutritious veggies, greens, and grains. I loved the grilled mushrooms especially. The prices seemed a bit steep for being meat-free, but the portion size was so big I actually got two meals out of it. This location wasn't particularly busy when we went on a Saturday afternoon, but they did seem understaffed, with just 1-2 staff members bringing food out and clearing the tables. It seemed to be more of a bus-your-own-table kind of place, but the staff insisted we leave our dishes at the table, which was very kind of them, except for the fact there were many tables that had yet to be cleared. read more

Took a while to order but it was super quick to come out. All this was $20 using the app! My favorite was the tacos and my friend's favorite was the kids pasta. The steak kimchi bowl was a hit with my non-vegan friend and I personally loved the fresh ingredients, sauces and fresh drink options. The menu was overwhelming with vegan options so I asked for some suggestions from the server Luis who was really friendly and helpful. The table next to me ordered a burger that smelled so good walking by I think I need to come back to try one. I sat outside and hung out for a while and had leftovers. Food is amazing, honestly really good options which honestly is the reason I think a lot of people double think what vegan and vegetarian means and realize the options there are. The service at this location is always really bad, I avoid this location just because it could be completely empty and the workers will be sitting at a booth, when they eventually take the order it can take up to 30minutes and the paying machine is always having issues. Sometimes they'll forget something and it takes even longer. On the days where it is busier it seems like they're really disorganized, I've tried ordering on the app really ahead of time and the order will take so much longer than what is predicted, when I get the notification it's ready and get the food it's cold. read more

Got new owners a few years ago and took off all of their best menu items. It's obvious they want to cut corners and save money, because most of the items they kept are the things that already come frozen that they can quickly throw together. This also reflects in the taste, as the food now reminds me of a sad, school cafeteria chicken sandwich. I tried giving their "revamp" a few tries before I realized I'll never have a good Veggie Grill meal again. RIP to the old VG read more

Oh my god! I never thought vegan bacon could taste good, but the Avocado BLT Croissant has it figured out! As a bacon lover, I appreciate the crisp veggie bacon paired with the fresh avocado. The croissant was also baked to perfection. As for the VG Classic burger, you can barely tell that the burger isn't real meat. The sandwich came with fries. She also ordered the crispy cauliflower which was breaded and came with Buffalo sauce on the side.
