I've been coming to this UVillage cafe every summer when I visit Seattle. The vibe is so fun and classy. The food and coffee always so yummy. So I'm sad to see the decline in this establishment. Upon entering I immediately noticed the worn upholstery in the booths. A serious makeover is needed. So trashy. But I get it times are hard. My food arrived on a chipped plate - time to throw it away folks. The counter server was very friendly as normal so that's a definite plus. However the BLT I ordered looked like they threw all the ingredients on the toast with no real prep. The tomato jam was not jam but pieces huge chunks too big to eat. While I'm glad they aren't skimping on the ingredients it was piled so high that it was challenging to eat. I ended up eating it in pieces with my fork and as such lost the tastiness of a combination of the flavors as it quickly became a deconstructed mess. A huge plus - the Seattle Fog was probably the best "London" fog I've ever had !!! Bravo. Not sure I'll come back again this visit. Maybe I'll check it next summer to see if improvements have been made. read more

I have been going to the Mr West downtown for many years and finally had the chance to check out the U village location. They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good. read more

We popped into Mr. West for a caffeine fix and loved the vibe. The interior is quite pretty -modern, stylish, and filled with plants--with a very cute, comfortable seating area and a long bar. Modern yet stylish filled with plants interior. The gal who took our order was friendly. We ordered a couple of lattes which were delicious! I had the cherry blossom latte which is seasonal, nicely balanced and delicious. Not overly sweet. We did not eat however i did check some of the food as it was being delivered to other guest. Mr. West is another one of my favorite cafes. I love their coffee and the ambiance. It's the perfect spot to get some work done or simply hang out and relax. I've also tried their grilled cheese sandwich, which was pretty good. Overall, it's a great cafe with excellent coffee. read more

Snagged 2 seats at the bar. Otherwise it's open seating and you stand in line to order food. It was nice to sit at the bar as it was not as noisy sitting at the tables. Ordered the club sandwich ($18.50) and Mr. West Combo $16 - half sandwich, tomato soup and a cookie. They messed up my sandwich as I wanted a tuna melt but quick fix for that. This used to be my go to coffee shop when in the area. I love the space and the vibe and the coffee / food used to be great. The last couple times I've been I've been disappointed in both AND the prices have really gotten high. I know most coffee shops are experiencing this but this place seems really extreme. read more

I really like this place in terms of it's ambience and vibe but I'm really sad. They don't have very much for a plant-based eaters. If you're allergic to dairy or egg, there's avocado toast but you have to get it without the egg and that's already $17. I'd rather have them just have it at a more affordable price and have the egg be optional. They charge a dollar for non-dairy milk. The tomato soup has cream all mixed in it so you couldn't just skip that which is a One party had a turkey club sandwich and said it was quite good. Gave it an eight out of 10. I've walked by here a bunch of times and finally made the point to come in. I ordered a cardamom latte and a butter croissant. For context, I had a cardamom latte on a trip to Vermont YEARS AGO and have been trying to find one just as good as that one since. The ones I've tried have either been too bitter/sour/sweet, or have come close but weren't perfect. I can confidently say Mr West has finally matched my dream vacation latte and I'm so happy to have found something just as yummy (dare I say... yummier???) Great breakfast place in U village (really the only option). Their curried avocado toast is incredible with the crumbled bacon on top. I will get it every time even if it's kind of overpriced...$21. Their drinks are on the pricier end as well. It's honestly a really cute and fun vibe once you're sitting down and have your food/drinks in front of you. I just really don't enjoy the mad house it is when you walk in. It gets stressful waiting in a line to order food and then waiting in a separate line to order a cocktail. Oh yes, Mr. West Café bar the local place you know the coffee is always gonna be good. The food is delicious. Wi-Fi is stable and there isn't as much background noise that noise canceling headphones can't solve and plenty of outlets to make sure that my needs are serviced while ensuring there's caffeine bathrooms and Wi-Fi. It's a great study spot to go grab a bite to eat drink coffee and work for a few hours. The staff are always pleasant to talk to and rarely get my order wrong so the service is great. read more

This place as cute as the photos! The inside is very aesthetically pleasing. However I could see how busy it gets. Luckily for me, no one was at the kiosk on a Tuesday around 11. I got a coffee (5.50) and a croissant (3.50). The croissant was 10/10. It was warmed perfectly and super buttery. The coffee was good but it's not the greatest thing. Great spot for any hour! You order at the counter and then find a spot and they will bring your food/drink to you. The maple toffee latte and peppermint espresso martini are amazing and I also highly recommend any of the sandwiches. All of their food and drinks (alcoholic or non) are made with quality ingredients and is very tasty. Wanted a bite to eat early in the morning at u village and this is the only spot open, it was pretty crazy line at 10/11 am and a little hard to find seating but we got spots in the indoor outdoor area. There wasn't much interaction with service as you order through a tablet and they text you to pick up your order at the bar and it's self service clean, it was a little hard to find the cleaning tubs though. Overall it was very nice and the food was good and great spot when you're at the mall. The savory roll was meh but the brussel sprouts and sandwich was alright, I thought the coffee was pretty oaky too. read more

My new favorite place where I can study and have good coffee. Although the place is generally full all the time and its a bit on the noisier side (understandably of its location), but it has a very good vibe to it and good place to hang out as well. If you are not into quiet places to study, then this is a perfect place. Their food is also good - my fav has been - Mr Breakfast, Grilled Cheese and Regular Fries. They are somewhat pricy but still worth it. Service is pretty fast. One minor suggestion- some baristas make brilliant coffee but some make it in a rush so they miss the correct proportion of milk. read more

I go to study spot around u district!! This place has so much to offer and such a good variety of food options. I usually get their Turkish eggs but since I came during happy hour this time I got their white bean hummus with pita! I love the addition of chilly crisp oil on top! They give so much hummus that u couldn't finish it and wished I got the leftovers to go. They also have a lot of outlets here so it's great for studying. First time in Uvillage and this was my first stop, it was delicious! I ordered the pecan caramel latte and it was out of this world! The ambiance so friendly welcoming and well decorated love the green! I was greeted up entering and the service was impeccable. Attentive and informative server RJ from Nepal friendly staff! I landed on the Shakshuka it was phenomenal, I forgot to take a picture because unfortunately I was in a bit of a hurry, they were kind enough to pack my meal to go and also my coffee! Their matcha latte didn't stand out, but I liked the unique flavor of the strawberry, yuzu, and matcha soda At first it wasn't strawberry or sweet enough for my friend so we had to ask for more. Mr. West Cafe in University Village is a great spot to go to if you're looking for brunch. We went on a Saturday morning so it was pretty crowded, but I was surprised at how quickly they were able to take our order in line. After you place your order at the counter, you seat yourself. Luckily, the restaurant is pretty spacious and we were able to quickly find a table for a party of 5. I tried the Mr. West Club, which was actually really good. They were generous with the fillings, but my favorite part was the layered sourdough + multigrain bread. There was a piece of bread in the middle of the sandwich, which added a nice crunch. The bread itself was also very crisp. I saved half of the sandwich for the next day, and it didn't get soggy at all! My table also got the fries and brussel sprouts to share which were really tasty. I also tried a croissant and the matcha. The matcha was stronger than I expected, although the croissant was less than impressive. I found it to be a little dry - maybe it just needed to be buttered a little more? But considering how good everything else was, I wasn't too disappointed. Mr. West also has a cute interior, although it can get loud so it may be hard to hear your party at times. All in all, it makes for a great brunch spot and I would definitely return! read more

My boyfriend and I ordered together & it was perfect portions. On to the ratings... Froze: that didn't taste too sweet. It's premade already. 5/5 Cardamon rose cold brew: amazing 5/5 Chia pudding: tasted super fresh, but less almonds would've been better. Still 5/5 Mr. West club sandwich: bread was nice & crispy. Love this place for the ambiance and the food! It has a very trendy vibe and they have really good coffee and cocktails as well as brunch food. We tried: avocado curry toast, shakshuka, Turkish eggs, eggplant yogurt dip, tuna melt for food. They were all good but my favorite was the eggplant dip with veggie crudités and the Turkish egg! For lattes, their coconut cardamom latte and Seattle fog were super pleasant and fragrant. Even their cocktails were amazing - not too sweet but just the right amount of fruity-ness! It is one of our favorite places to go for brunch or happy hour in Seattle! The line can be quite long for weekend brunch though. read more
