I've been coming to this UVillage cafe every summer when I visit Seattle. The vibe is so fun and classy. The food and coffee always so yummy. So I'm sad to see the decline in this establishment. Upon entering I immediately noticed the worn upholstery in the booths. A serious makeover is needed. So trashy. But I get it times are hard. My food arrived on a chipped plate - time to throw it away folks. The counter server was very friendly as normal so that's a definite plus. However the BLT I ordered looked like they threw all the ingredients on the toast with no real prep. The tomato jam was not jam but pieces huge chunks too big to eat. While I'm glad they aren't skimping on the ingredients it was piled so high that it was challenging to eat. I ended up eating it in pieces with my fork and as such lost the tastiness of a combination of the flavors as it quickly became a deconstructed mess. A huge plus - the Seattle Fog was probably the best "London" fog I've ever had !!! Bravo. Not sure I'll come back again this visit. Maybe I'll check it next summer to see if improvements have been made. read more

I have been going to the Mr West downtown for many years and finally had the chance to check out the U village location. They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good. read more

Mr. West is another one of my favorite cafes. I love their coffee and the ambiance. It's the perfect spot to get some work done or simply hang out and relax. I've also tried their grilled cheese sandwich, which was pretty good. Overall, it's a great cafe with excellent coffee. read more

We popped into Mr. West for a caffeine fix and loved the vibe. The interior is quite pretty -modern, stylish, and filled with plants--with a very cute, comfortable seating area and a long bar. Modern yet stylish filled with plants interior. The gal who took our order was friendly. We ordered a couple of lattes which were delicious! I had the cherry blossom latte which is seasonal, nicely balanced and delicious. Not overly sweet. We did not eat however i did check some of the food as it was being delivered to other guest. I have to say what I saw looked tasty. I would happily return. read more

Snagged 2 seats at the bar. Otherwise it's open seating and you stand in line to order food. It was nice to sit at the bar as it was not as noisy sitting at the tables. Ordered the club sandwich ($18.50) and Mr. West Combo $16 - half sandwich, tomato soup and a cookie. They messed up my sandwich as I wanted a tuna melt but quick fix for that. Food was tasty and decent portions. Good option for a meal and drinks in UVillage. read more

This used to be my go to coffee shop when in the area. I love the space and the vibe and the coffee / food used to be great. The last couple times I've been I've been disappointed in both AND the prices have really gotten high. I know most coffee shops are experiencing this but this place seems really extreme. read more

Great vibes, I felt like this could've utilized a little more space with more chairs as I could totally see it getting packed. Food was excellent, but it is a café so do not expect restaurant style service. I got the Niçoise salad and a cider, and the food came out pretty quickly and was absolutely delicious, 10 out of 10 would recommend. read more

Good place to study! It closes late which is really nice. I ordered a grilled cheese and a plain latte and both were good. I know they have good specialty drinks--I've tried the cardamom one in the past but wasn't a big fan--but lots of variety. Expensive-ish but worth it! In the cafe, there was light music, good lighting, and I could find a seat. read more

I really like this place in terms of it's ambience and vibe but I'm really sad. They don't have very much for a plant-based eaters. If you're allergic to dairy or egg, there's avocado toast but you have to get it without the egg and that's already $17. I'd rather have them just have it at a more affordable price and have the egg be optional. They charge a dollar for non-dairy milk. The tomato soup has cream all mixed in it so you couldn't just skip that which is a One party had a turkey club sandwich and said it was quite good. Gave it an eight out of 10. Coffee was OK not very hot especially the mocha that was lukewarm but people seem nice. read more

I've walked by here a bunch of times and finally made the point to come in. I ordered a cardamom latte and a butter croissant. For context, I had a cardamom latte on a trip to Vermont YEARS AGO and have been trying to find one just as good as that one since. The ones I've tried have either been too bitter/sour/sweet, or have come close but weren't perfect. I can confidently say Mr West has finally matched my dream vacation latte and I'm so happy to have found something just as yummy (dare I say... yummier???) The croissant was less than average, but seriously... the coffee and the awesome service made up for it. My barista drew beautiful latte art and even helped me to my table! I will absolutely be back! read more

Great breakfast place in U village (really the only option). Their curried avocado toast is incredible with the crumbled bacon on top. I will get it every time even if it's kind of overpriced...$21. Their drinks are on the pricier end as well. It's honestly a really cute and fun vibe once you're sitting down and have your food/drinks in front of you. I just really don't enjoy the mad house it is when you walk in. It gets stressful waiting in a line to order food and then waiting in a separate line to order a cocktail. After all the waiting, you then have to fight for the limited seating. read more

Oh yes, Mr. West Café bar the local place you know the coffee is always gonna be good. The food is delicious. Wi-Fi is stable and there isn't as much background noise that noise canceling headphones can't solve and plenty of outlets to make sure that my needs are serviced while ensuring there's caffeine bathrooms and Wi-Fi. It's a great study spot to go grab a bite to eat drink coffee and work for a few hours. The staff are always pleasant to talk to and rarely get my order wrong so the service is great. read more

This place as cute as the photos! The inside is very aesthetically pleasing. However I could see how busy it gets. Luckily for me, no one was at the kiosk on a Tuesday around 11. I got a coffee (5.50) and a croissant (3.50). The croissant was 10/10. It was warmed perfectly and super buttery. The coffee was good but it's not the greatest thing. Pricing on both items was reasonable! There was no seating available, but next time would like to see how dine in goes. A great ambiance and place to study or catch up with friends. Food is mid, but coffee is surprisingly from Stamp Act - Seattle coffee roaster. Great spot for any hour! You order at the counter and then find a spot and they will bring your food/drink to you. The maple toffee latte and peppermint espresso martini are amazing and I also highly recommend any of the sandwiches. The seating is both inside and out - usually it's busy but shouldn't be super hard to find a spot. read more

Wanted a bite to eat early in the morning at u village and this is the only spot open, it was pretty crazy line at 10/11 am and a little hard to find seating but we got spots in the indoor outdoor area. There wasn't much interaction with service as you order through a tablet and they text you to pick up your order at the bar and it's self service clean, it was a little hard to find the cleaning tubs though. Overall it was very nice and the food was good and great spot when you're at the mall. The savory roll was meh but the brussel sprouts and sandwich was alright, I thought the coffee was pretty oaky too. read more

I go to study spot around u district!! This place has so much to offer and such a good variety of food options. I usually get their Turkish eggs but since I came during happy hour this time I got their white bean hummus with pita! I love the addition of chilly crisp oil on top! They give so much hummus that u couldn't finish it and wished I got the leftovers to go. They also have a lot of outlets here so it's great for studying. My new favorite place where I can study and have good coffee. Although the place is generally full all the time and its a bit on the noisier side (understandably of its location), but it has a very good vibe to it and good place to hang out as well. If you are not into quiet places to study, then this is a perfect place. Their food is also good - my fav has been - Mr Breakfast, Grilled Cheese and Regular Fries. They are somewhat pricy but still worth it. Service is pretty fast. One minor suggestion- some baristas make brilliant coffee but some make it in a rush so they miss the correct proportion of milk. read more

I liked their chai, wish it was more spiced personally, but it hit the spot! Their matcha latte didn't stand out, but I liked the unique flavor of the strawberry, yuzu, and matcha soda At first it wasn't strawberry or sweet enough for my friend so we had to ask for more. The guy who took our order said our friend "didn't want it too sweet so I didn't put as much syrup in there". Weird since we were with her when she put the order in and she didn't say that lol. Feel like it took more effort to say that and lie instead of just adding more syrup. We weren't even angry or upset, just asked for more strawberry syrup haha read more

Mr. West Cafe in University Village is a great spot to go to if you're looking for brunch. We went on a Saturday morning so it was pretty crowded, but I was surprised at how quickly they were able to take our order in line. After you place your order at the counter, you seat yourself. Luckily, the restaurant is pretty spacious and we were able to quickly find a table for a party of 5. I tried the Mr. West Club, which was actually really good. They were generous with the fillings, but my favorite part was the layered sourdough + multigrain bread. There was a piece of bread in the middle of the sandwich, which added a nice crunch. The bread itself was also very crisp. I saved half of the sandwich for the next day, and it didn't get soggy at all! My table also got the fries and brussel sprouts to share which were really tasty. I also tried a croissant and the matcha. The matcha was stronger than I expected, although the croissant was less than impressive. I found it to be a little dry - maybe it just needed to be buttered a little more? But considering how good everything else was, I wasn't too disappointed. Mr. West also has a cute interior, although it can get loud so it may be hard to hear your party at times. All in all, it makes for a great brunch spot and I would definitely return! read more

I got the Tuna sandwich melt, which I might say is absolutely delicious. Although I would say it had more of a grilled cheese vibe, rather than a tuna sandwich, but it was still so scrumptious! However, the only downside is that this place is somewhat expensive. This sandwich was already $17, not yet including tax and tip. I know a lot of people who frequent UVillage could afford this, but if you're a college student on a budget like me, maybe keep this to a once a season occasion. The cashier was really nice, and they bring out your food within 10 minutes, very quick and efficient! I sat at a really good spot outside, I could feel the heat and enjoy the sun! Although I would say the seating is pretty limited and you may have trouble finding a place to sit, especially during busier hours. Overall a great place to spend quality time with loved ones or just a place to chill alone and work! read more

Wow this place is amazing. Stumbled upon this place looking for something to eat near our friend's hotel. Line was long, but food came out fast. My boyfriend and I ordered together & it was perfect portions. On to the ratings... Froze: that didn't taste too sweet. It's premade already. 5/5 Cardamon rose cold brew: amazing 5/5 Chia pudding: tasted super fresh, but less almonds would've been better. Still 5/5 Mr. West club sandwich: bread was nice & crispy. Perfect portion w/ some sides. 5/5 Orzo primaverda: really impressed with the ingredients and dressing. 5/5 It was really delicious that I want it all the time.
