About a year ago we hired Floors Free to take out carpet and put in hardwood floors in two rooms to match existing hardwood in our kitchen. Bryan and team also refinished the existing kitchen hardwood and stained all three rooms to match. The process was unbelievably smooth and the quote was extremely reasonable. Communication was easy and the project was done in no time, before we even moved in. The floors are beautiful and we remark all the time how they totally transformed our house. Bryan's team matched the existing hardwood perfectly - we actually can't remember where it started and stopped. The work is just fantastic and we plan to call Bryan again when we re-do some other flooring throughout the house. Then most recently, Bryan and his team put in our kitchen backsplash (previously we had an adhesive "tile" until we were ready for real tile). After initially starting work with another more expensive company that we fired (dodged a bullet!), we remembered that Bryan's company did tiling. We were so happy we contacted him and wished we had sooner - quote came back next day and we were able to get work scheduled within two weeks! Bryan told us his tile pro was an artist and he truly was. The work was clean and took much less than two days. Bryan worked with the tile we had previously purchased, and we supplied tile adhesive and the grout - we loved that we bought them ourselves and were not up-charged for supplies. Thomas the tile pro was in and out - he was so friendly and obviously proud of his work. We wouldn't hesitate to contact Bryan again for more work. Reasonable prices, easy to get ahold, completely flexible - great all around. Floors Free has taken our house from bland to beautiful!

Denver Dustless did what they said - provided us with like-new hardwood floors with a minimum of…read moredust and mess. They were booked out a couple of weeks, but worked well with us on scheduling. We were able to get the floors done without having to be out of the house, which was a great benefit. We could step on the freshly done floors within a few hours so we could get upstairs. The odor was minimal as well, and did not cause any discomfort. I wish someone would do this service and also move furniture. The hardest part of the ordeal was getting large items moved out and back in again. We had called several companies with the same response, so it is not unusual. The one thing I would have liked was a say about the final finish. We were not asked how we would like it. It is matte rather than a shinier surface, and while it looks good, it is not what we would have chosen. Similarly, the original finish had a slight tint to it and this is much lighter. Again, it looks good but communication in advance would have been appreciated. I still highly recommend this company. The work was well done and efficient, and our floors look great.

He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.

But when it came time to have the floors redone in my own home, I was very worried about trusting a contractor I didn't know to re-stain my floors to my satisfaction. Having flipped homes for a living, my eye is a little sharper than most when it comes to home renovations and if there's a flaw, I'm going to see it. So after doing some research online and viewing the work of a few different flooring subcontractors, superior floor care stood out above the rest. Their online portfolio and wide variety of flooring expertise looked promising. I submitted a request on their website and they immediately got in touch and arranged to come quote refinishing my floors. From end to end the process was just easy and straightforward. Micah kept me in the loop and explained his process in simple terms and didn't talk around things in the typical manner that I have come to expect from contractors, even when they are masters of their trade. The project started off very good. They removed carpet in three areas and replaced it with…read morehardwood flooring that matched our existing flooring. They did a very good job on this. You can't tell what was the old flooring and the new flooring. They also did a great job on the stairs (removed carpet and replace with oak steps. During the project the team was very good to work with. Their team moved our heavy items onto the garage which was very nice of them to do so. We also liked the way the taped off a sanded part of the floor and put 6 staining we picked out so we could see how each looked on the floor. this was a great help in determining which stain we liked most. Junior and team were great to work with and did a few extra things which ended up looking great. The team was very personable and professional. However, there were three main issues we had after the job was done and we had an opportunity to look closer at the quality of the staining and followup: 1) They didn't tape the baseboard to prevent stain or final coating from getting on the baseboard. There were many spots on the baseboard that had stain on it. I tried to wipe the stain off but it was on to stay. We had planned to have the interior painted next year but had to move that schedule up to right after the flooring was done so the baseboard liked nice. The paining company (Colorado Painting) did an excellent job and the baseboard looks great now. If you use Gold Hardwood flooring insist they tape the baseboard before staining. 2) They do not do a good job with corners. We have 5 corners that look bad because they didn't do a good job sanding and staining them (there were a few spots which were not corners where the stain didn't take but the majority of issues were corners). I understand corners require manual sanding and staining which is time consuming but these spots are not a quality finished product. These spots were originally fine looking before this job and now they don't look like a professional did the work. If you have Gold do your floors make sure you check all the corners before final payment. 3) We were told we could have them come out (within reason of course) if we found any issues. We called on an issue we found (bad staining not in a corner but in front of the fireplace) and they come out and tried to fix it but they couldn't because they said the wood wouldn't take a stain (they manually sanded the spot and re-stained but it didn't improve). This was odd because that spot looked fine before the job so the wood took the stain when the builders put the hardwood floor in. As you can imagine, we had to have everything out of the area being worked on. As we started to put things back we noticed many corners that didn't look good. I sent Gold an email (with pictures) asking them to come back and see what could be done with them. I did get one reply saying a picture with a stain dot was done by the painters and I replied that the painters didn't use stain. I also got a reply saying I would contacted on Monday to set up a time. This is now Thursday and I haven't heard anything from him. At this point, we'll probably just live with what it is. Thankfully many of the spots aren't in a high traffic area so they aren't easily seen by others.
