March 2026 A few months ago, I decided to have an EV charging connector installed so that my tenant would be able to charge his EV vehicle. I contacted about six electrical contractors to give me quotes for this project. The quotes varied from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars. On the high end, a few vendors wanted to up-sell and make improvements in the electrical system of the existing house to "accommodate" the increase demand of the EV charging.
