Since I now own an EV, I needed to have a wall connector installed at my home. I needed to find a legit, insured certified and licensed electrician to install my wall connector. SFE Electric is owned by Pedro, and is a family local business who has reasonable prices, stellar professionalism and expedient installation. Pedro is certified by Tesla, so he knows what he's doing and will install your wall connector legitly, meaning he will ensure there is a permit for this. Another good thing witb Pedro is that he will request the permit and coordinate the inspecation after installation. That was one of the main reasons I hired Pedro. The wall connector took a few hours to install but they did it professionally. The wires that connected the wall connector to the panel were hidden with a solid, metal pipe so it doesn't look messy. Prices were very reasonable which included installation as well as Pedro coordinating the permits and inspection. I am very happy to finally find an electrician I can rely on. read more

I needed a Level 2 charger installed (got myself a Mini Cooper SE). I live in a townhouse community lol (lots of rules, strict HOA) also on the older side. Pedro delivered. He passed their requirements. He was very helpful and honest in his assessments. He even figured out a safe way to install the charger without getting the house rewired for a higher amperage panel (installing a DCC-12 unit). Or something to that effect (I forgot the electrical jargon he used lol). He took care of the paperwork, city inspection etcetera. You can tell that his company is very good because he seem to be in high demand. He is busy but he responds quickly via email and text (I don't really like phone calls who even does that anymore lol). Very friendly guy. Pedro is the owner but his associates are good too. We needed two sub panels replaced in our home due to a known defect with the brand. Because we knew this would be a costly replacement, we called several electricians to look at the job. Pedro was by far the most knowledgeable and most pleasant to work with. He instantly recognized the issue with our old panels, he knew the electrical code better than others we spoke to (one electrician wanted to put our panel in the bathroom, which Pedro immediately knew would not pass inspection), and his pricing was reasonable - not the most expensive but also not suspiciously cheap. The work itself was done quickly and cleanly. The crew patched up everything nicely - they even cleaned up holes previously left by less reputable electricians who have worked on our home. Pedro himself took the time to accurately label each circuit, which was a huge feat given the amount of stairs in our home. Pedro did a fair amount of work on our house and was great through every part of the process. His prices are competitive, he knows the codes well, he has a relationship with PGE so has a good concept of what and how to get things done, does very clean work and does not mess around on pricing or costs... honest, hard working, and knows his electricity well! I wish some of our other subcontractors were this good. We did a lot of work... Pedro moved a 100AMP Panel & all wiring from inside a closet to our garage, updated our box and breakers, replaced old & dangerous aluminum 110V wiring with copper (lot of attic and crawlspace work). Ran some new higher amp lines, moved exterior lighting boxes, installed a bunch of fixtures and motion sensors... also installed a bunch of LeGrande Adorne outlets/switches/faceplates which are not installed like regular devices. Probably some other things! I initially contacted two other companies that had a large number of 5 star reviews. The first was crazy expensive, the second was slow to communicate with. At the time I contacted Pedro (maybe March or April of this year), he had a bunch less reviews than now (October). I was hesitant because it was much less than the previous companies, but Pedro's reviews were consistent in how reliable and good he was. Initial thoughts: Got a quote from Pedro a few months ago and we were finally able to get started on the project due to delays on my part not his. He was very patient and explained things thoroughly. Although the quote was priced higher later due to inflation it was not terrible like others. He's very reasonably priced. When he comes over, he typically wears a mask and has shoe covers on him. He's been nice to our barking dog. I love how he gives us options and he's by the books to ensure you pass inspection. So far we're part way through with the electrical project and he has been very transparent. You can see the passion in his work. He's also been very receptive of feedback.
