As I wanted to keep my current eyewear frames, I had to turn them in to be shipped for the installment of the lens. Fine. I was told it would be a week to ten days to get the new glasses back, so I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, after TWENTY days I called and was told they were indeed in. And when I asked when they had arrived, I was told a date THIRTEEN days prior. When I voiced my objection to not being notified then, the person said I had been notified-- which was a lie. I have reviewed my contacts, and I received NO phone call, NO voicemail, NO text message, and NO email that the new glasses were in. An unnecessary, nearly two-week delay. That is NO way to conduct business!

Last week I dropped in with my goggles as I'd had some issues with the lenses over this past winter. To be honest I hadn't done the best job keeping them safe while commuting to/from the mountain so the lenses had started to pop out every now and then. Apparently my #1 ski buddy did too good of a job popping the lenses back in at the end of last season as the staffers couldn't find a single thing wrong with them. Thankfully I had dropped in because Zeal was running 50% off of many awesome goggles. The staff shared which was their fave (of the sale goggles), I snagged a pair that caught my eye and the trying on began. I settled on a pair with a flashy purple band and sashayed on up to the register. It must have been my lucky day as the goggles also came with an alternate lens. I was thankful to be told the options along with what each alternate lens would best be used for. I settled on a pair for those snowy low visibility days. Score! Took my new goggles out for a spin the following day and am happy to report that they certainly delivered (and I looked pretty cool too)!

I wear them all the time for good eye protection outdoors. The sunglasses do a good job of not muting or changing colors too much outdoors and the polarization is good at looking at water. I love the ski goggles I got here as well! The lenses automatically change colors depending on the outdoor conditions and are amazing quality. My mom recently accidentally broke a really old pair from here and they replaced them for free with a new model because they don't sell the ones she had anymore. The service is awesome and I wouldn't buy sporty eyewear from anywhere else.

I made an appointment for glasses only and they charged me for glasses and contacts exam. I walked out paying over 800 for glasses. I called them today to order contacts and asked for 1 box. The receptionist was so rude and told me she couldn't order 1 month supply and I needed to order 12 months at a time. I will never return to this place. They should always ask if you want to take a photo of the back of your eye- they didn't ask this and charged me for it anyway after I didn't even need a prescription for contacts at the time. After showing my bill to another optometrist friend, they even said this is unethical. They will tell you, you will pay a little more for the better service, but the service was not better. Every person who works here seems miserable and will not show you customer service. Take your money elsewhere where they will respect you and your wallet.

The second appointment was just to look for my glasses. I used them for three days and had a constant headache! On my third visit, I found out the prescription was wrong--the doctor had put too much "power" in it. I left the glasses there to be fixed and also got fitted for contacts. While waiting for the glasses, I tried the contacts, but they didn't work either. On my fourth visit, I went back for another pair of contacts. They handed me a plastic bag with the contacts inside and told me to try them at home. As soon as I put them in, I couldn't see a thing--and on top of that, they were expired! I waited three weeks for my glasses. I had to call to find out if they were ready, and by chance, they had arrived that same day. No one bothered to notify me. The glasses still don't work to this day. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!

I tried several more times to reach the store by phone and there was never an answer. Towards the end of the day I contacted another LensCrafters and explained that I couldn't reach anyone at the Boulder location. A very nice person there said they would reach out to the Boulder store and have them get in touch with me. I never heard anything back. On July 16th I attempted to contact the store and had the same results. No answer. I asked others to call the store and see if they could get any answers with the same result. On July 17th I received a text message saying my glasses were in. We arrived at the location and Christian began to help us. I told him I was concerned that their phones may not be working. He said they were fine. I explained that we had tried to contact the store and he explained that they were short staffed. I asked where one of their regular employees was and he said they were not with them any more. He explained it was LensCrafters choice to part ways with him. I was surprised that he shared that employees employment decision with me. I expressed my concern that customers could not reach the store by phone and suggested that they could call customers back when it was slower. He quickly dismissed that and said we don't have time. I asked if I could speak to the Regional Manager (Jessica) and he said that I would not be able to. I asked if he could give her my contact information so she could call me and he said he would not do that. I explained that his corporate owners (Essilor Luxottica) would not be pleased with his handling of customer concerns. He said he doesn't work for them. I then asked for and received a refund. He threw the glasses case into the trash. This was among the worst examples of customer service that I have ever witnessed or experienced. We went to Warby Parker, purchased two pairs of glasses and had fantastic customer service. The difference between the two businesses was night and day. I hope that this is isolated at LensCrafters and that Christian was perhaps just simply having a bad week. If you want a pleasant, friendly and fun experience go to Warby Parker. It's a short walk from this LensCrafters. If you want a frustratingly rude experience LensCrafters Boulder will give you that.

I preface this lengthy review by saying I'm a medical health professional with 12 years of experience. I empathize with the stressors and constraints placed on the medical teams. However, negligence is something I have zero tolerance for. Being made to feel that my life choices and doing what is best for me is incorrect, is something I do not stand for. Here is the list of my concerning encounters with Dr. Heather Adler. First, during my intake paperwork, I disclosed medications I was on. 4 to be exact. Of the 4 were two, are impactful as my life as a woman and a nurse. Dr. Heather Alder asked about only 1. This medication I see a female specific doctor with which I have a great report. However, Dr. Heather Alder, felt the need to discuss this med in particular, claiming she was wanting to make sure I was content with the side effects. Yet no other medication side effects were inquired. Only. This. ONE. Med. Second, during my eye exam she discovered a tear/hole in my retina along with associated dried blood. I explained I was in a motor vehicle accident earlier and she said this was a definite cause. I requested she write a note with this statement so I could give it to my lawyer. She was more than happy to accommodate the request. And would send me an email with the note. She gave me a card for an ophthalmologist and said I needed to make an appointment soon to make sure my vision doesn't deteriorate. She instructed me of the signs and symptoms to be on alert and to call if they present which are considered a medical emergency leaving me with permanent blindness. Third, I returned home got an email with access to the patient portal. I followed the directions however was informed that login information was incorrect and I needed to call the clinic. I called and was told by her that she does not use the patient portal. I was reassured the note would be sent to me. Fourth, a few days passed with no email. I called the clinic and was told the email would be in my inbox by the end of the day on a Friday end of August. I waited. A week and a half goes by, no email (now early September). Fifth, I called this week (mid September). Two times in 1 day actually. The first time was to ask about the missing email and that I need a referral from her as well as the imaging to see the recommended ophthalmologist or my appointment would be cancelled. I notified the male employee and was told Dr. Heather Alder was out of the office until later in the week. However, the kind gentleman would text and get back to me. He confirmed by call back number and email. Sixth, A few hours later I called back because I noticed my vision getting blurrier suddenly - one of the symptoms I was to be on alert. I mentioned this new symptom, the missing email and missing referral. The woman said she was going to call Dr. Heather Alder and call me back. Again, my contact information was confirmed. I waited. No call back. Seventh, Dr. Heather Alder was supposed to be back in the office today (mid September). I was never called. No email sent. No contact attempt ever made. If you value your vision and being treated like a decent human, please go elsewhere. I am specifically vague with dates and posting this later for fear of retaliation.
