Got this before they wrapped them all up. They make them fresh.

A lot of things Great! the food and time spent looking through their ingredients and meat. This is the place to grab a quick bite. Delicious food, great hospitality went in at a great time afternoon brunch out of town, neighbor perfect time to go see old friends and their family. Great place to bring my family right beside the other markets. I encouraged getting there early when they have fresh bread. Great place for my banh mi sandwiches patea. :D

    Imported chocolates absolutely beautiful

Wow! We tried another new place and was surprised by the amount of options and beauty of the pastries. Prices were high but if you want to splurge I definitely recommend this place. We tried their imported chocolates, canolis, cakes, and macarons! All were absolutely delicious! We did find out this is a family business. They are right next to a dollar tree so if you need to get some some little trinkets, you can go shopping and grab a delicious dessert on your way out! The only thing I would add is possibly having a more decorative way of showing off their delicious treats and make sure you let your cakes thaw a bit because ours was a little bit icy since we ate it right away! We tried the tiramisu and the vanilla and it was absolutely amazing!!

Euro Bakery Cafe is a small shop in a retail strip very far away from where I live. Mr P works close by, and has brought food home from this place gem. The shop has a food counter on one side, a few small dining tables, and a small Romanian grocery. The staff is very friendly, and are always grateful for your patronage. We ordered WAY too much food for two people, and it was all amazing. Mitetei are small sausages. The sandwich or the plate both satisfy. Let me tell you, the sandwiches are huge! The lamb sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich are equally tasty and huge. Breads are baked fresh in-house. There is a swirly bread thing that is stuffed with cheese - I have no idea what it's called - that is the most amazing thing. I believe it's also available with spinach. To complete your meal, there are usually a few fresh pastry items in the case. All wonderful. Again, I have no idea what stuff is called in Romanian, but I call them delicious! There are also staples and treats in the grocery section. Give this hidden gem a try!

Gotta put Vegeta on everything! Need the large bags to last in this kitchen! Lol

One of my best friends is Bosnian and told me to come here to get the spice that she turned me on too called Vegeta. It's a chicken based seasoning that I literally put on EVERYTHING. It makes food taste so much better. I specifically came here for that this time and also picked up some juices the kids like as well. They do have a bakery/deli that you can order fresh made food but it can take 20 minutes depending on what you order and we were short on time. They carry a bunch of foods and sweets here as well. Overall great and quick service and we will be back to try out some of the foods served!

Short story - Bosnian grocery store, bakery, restaurant and social center. The food we tried was Hit and Miss. Service is very minimal. They also made substitutions without notice. Long story - This is a humble local business that caters to the Bosnian Population. This isn't a fancy place as it looks very worn. The atmosphere is extremely energetic. Many people coming in doing grocery shopping and picking up bags full of prepared meals. Even with only a few seated tables there is LOUD conversation in foreign tongue and there also is foreign TV playing in the background. Everyone seems to know each other. We thought that our order wouldn't take too long because we only noticed one table before us but they were slammed with takeout orders so the food took over a half an hour. I tried a grilled chicken sandwich. I thought it was a safe bet because they've been in business for over 20 years... I received a GIANT SIZE whole bread with two grilled very flat chicken breast and an extremely large pile of what they called salad on the side. I thought the bread was fluffy and tasty. The chicken was seasoned nice but was extremely tough. It was like trying to chew a steel belted tire. I couldn't eat the chicken. The what-they-call "salad" was very similar American East Coast Health Salad (like cole slaw but not creamy). I have to rate my meal between one and two stars...Fresh baked bread and cole slaw was very good. I would stay away from chicken here. My husband ordered the Combo Platter. It differed from the description. It didn't come with steak or the hamburger. He received - some chicken breast (that was slightly better than what they gave me) Sausage - I think skinless beef that was ok one long sausage - spicy - very good veal kabob - dry and chewy - not edible One large bread - very good large salad (non-creamy cole slaw) very good We also picked up one dessert to try. We picked up a Subarice. It's also called a Russian Cap. It's suppose to be sort of like a cupcake but with vanilla and chocolate cake with coconut trimming and topped with chocolate. Neither of us could eat this dessert because it was a big marshmallow topped with really cheap tasting chocolate cake. We both thought the taste was offensive. It just didn't taste good to either of us. Hit and miss and some substitutions were made without notice. Service is minimal. You might want to give this place a try for people watching or to take out some fresh bread.

Clockwise from bottom left: bourek, Coke, cream pie, bread, Goulash stew. In middle is "Ajvar" red-pepper ketchup.

It was my first visit to this place. It is in a somewhat sketchy area. I lined up to order; there were two small groups of people ahead of me. The first person was done in a couple minutes. The second group of two ladies took literally 15 minutes! It's been a long time since I've waited that long in line. My lunch cost $20, which is way too much for a little place like this. (For comparison, I can eat happy-hour supper at Pappadeaux for less than that, and it includes an alcoholic drink.) I did get a lot of food. The goulash was excellent. But the bourek (filo dough meat roll) and dessert were not very fresh; a little old and dried up. Also they are set up as a bakery, so once you get your food, do not expect any service at the table. It was about 5 degrees too warm in there (need more AC). I might have come back for the goulash for a quick lunch on a work day, but they are not quick!

I am very gluten sensitive and wasn't sure what would be safe to order and it's very rare to begin with finding a place that advertises catering to such dietary restrictions. But Michelle -- the owner -- personally came over and took the time to guide me through the menu. Her warmth, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm for accommodating gluten sensitivities immediately put me at ease. We both decided on the cinnamon roll, and honestly, it was the best pastry we've ever had. You can truly taste the difference in baked goods that are made fresh daily and never left sitting around -- the quality and care shine through in every bite. What meant the most to us was how Michelle came back to our table just to connect and chat. That kind of personal attention makes you feel less like a customer and more like part of the community. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Beg Bakery. This is the kind of small business that deserves to be celebrated and supported. There's no place to sit inside, but there are two nice parking spaces out in the front since it's a busy parking lot by a gym. They have several cases of sweet options, cakes that you can customize on the spot, and pastries that are topped fresh to order. They also have so many cake pop flavors. I didn't even know how to decide! The owner, Melissa, was so sweet to me! I asked her questions about the business, and what they do for catering. I love supporting local businesses, especially bakeries because I'm a baker myself. I talked to her about customizing an order for my place of employment in the next couple of months and she was totally on board to customize it how I wanted. Aside for my too good bag, I ended up buying an ube cake pop and a Boston cream tart, and both are out of this world! On Fridays and Saturdays, they do buy one get one free cake, pops, so it's a perfect opportunity to try all of the flavors! Definitely try this place, you will not be disappointed!

I've ordered custom cookies before that were a bit hard, but these were so soft and absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. I also thought my cake turned out super cute. If I had to nitpick, I wish the 30 had been in a slightly bolder font like my photo reference, but overall they did a great job. The cake was also quite large and heavy. I believe I ordered the 10 inch, and it was very tall. The picture honestly doesn't do it justice. I chose the cookies and cream flavor, and it was pretty good.

I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

While I was still in NYC with my family on XMas eve eve, it hit me... I need to bring something besides wine everytime I go to their home. Nor a Southern dish. I wanted something unapologetically New Yaek. And what's more New Yawk than a box of classic Italian cookies? After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix! Do not walk, runswiftly to this place if you need a gift, a show stopping dessert, or simply want to treat yourself. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.
