I finally came here twice in about a month's period of time with the same friend. Once before and once after the Ontario Reign hockey games. The service both times was very good from the seating hostesses to the waitresses, as well as others that ran the food out to us. It is a really clean restaurant inside and out front, including the restrooms. Plenty of parking around, but gets full close by quickly when the Reign are playing. The first time I remember being under strict diet rules, so I was only able to order a chicken Cesar salad. It had a very good presentation and they cooked the chicken well and I was given a good amount of dressing. On the second visit I ordered the happy hour Eureka Burger and fries, which was about $13. Great price for a great burger made medium patty my way and awesome French fries!!! My friend and I love this place and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!! 4+ pretty big chain at this point that has a really good spirits selection. I've had their burger and some food at another location a long time ago, but on this particular visit, I only came in for a drink. My buddy and I sat at the bar pretty much right away. We were waiting at the traffic because we had just gotten out of the Ontario Reign game across the street. The vibe here was pretty lively. It was pretty busy on a weekday evening. I typically order straight up whiskey at places like this, but I saw a cocktail on the menu that looked fun and interesting. It was definitely a fun drink with some performance aspects to it. I LOVE the Eureka in Claremont (near my home) and I thought I would check this one out. It was a cold and windy day and unfortunately, as people came in the doors stayed open and we were freezing. Eureka! is one of my favorite spots to come grab a burger and enjoy a cocktail. Before finding the Ontario location, I used to frequent the Claremont one, but that's going to change! To start, the service here is excellent. Our server, Trinity was very attentive and did a great job! There also wasn't a wait for us, but we also arrived a few minutes after they opened. The atmosphere on the inside is really nice! It feels more upscale but has a chill vibe at the same time. The food here was also excellent. Our table shared the mac and cheese balls and the truffle fries, you really can't go wrong with either! We also had burgers which were cooked perfectly! Stopped by here on a road trip mainly because it was one of the few restaurants that was open late. It's located next to a hotel. There's plenty of parking behind the restaurant shared with the hotel I believe. It wasn't too busy late at night and the service was prompt. It had a modern bar like feel to it but it was quite chilly inside. Not sure if it's because we were just seated under the AC. The food was typical bar food and portions were generous. My amazing daughter n law was in town and we decided to meet for dinner in Ontario. She chose Eureka and boy did she pick a winner..(she is also a YELPER) The food was delicious. We started with the Mac n cheese balls as our appetizer. Really good. My daughter n law had the wings, her mom had fish tacos and I had the cowboy burger and truffle fries... so so good... I've been a patron of Eureka for a long time. Back when Claremont was one of two locations... because the IE had really any other restaurant like Eureka. The gourmet burger boom was born, and an oasis in the desert of the IE was this place. I definitely am not as faithful as I used to be, but when my wife and I have a rare few hours without the kids to hang out on a Saturday night, I realize there's a Eureka nearby, the location I'm reviewing now. I swear I was at the Claremont location a little less than a year ago and thought, wow, the prices are still pretty solid in this new era of eating out... both food and drink. WRONG. I don't know if it's just because this location is right next to Toyota Arena, but the prices are funny on a Buffalo Trace sour. $17.50... it's like I'm at some dumb old school steakhouse. At least they make the sour well here? Uncharted Forests was a banger of a cocktail. This was their saving grace. It was nice to see some really nice creativity in a cocktail when this chain is getting bigger and more watered down. The salad changes were bad. The rib tips getting axed from the menu is still unforgivable. They eliminate their most iconic trademark appetizer... just because? Every server I talk to when I come back, they all say the same thing. The faithful patrons all bemoan this dumb decision. When we first walked in, the two girls greeting/seating looked almost perturbed that we had interrupted the conversation. I had to sit there for a good few seconds before they looked at us and then another couple of seconds before I got tired of waiting for a decent "hello" or "good evening" and just said, "there's two of us." One of these girls while we were dining was sweeping up around the tables, sticking the broom under the table and around a patron's feet while they were still eating. It was weird. What can you expect when the place keeps expanding the chain? Watered down. I guess if you're in a pinch, they do make better cocktails than most other places around. If you're gonna be overcharged for a sour, at least it's pretty good. Oh, and they did improve the cherries. I used to love going here for food and drinks but my recent visit was very disappointing. My husband and I usually get the wings and this time around they were very small, about bite sized. We got my daughter a quesadilla from the kids menu and it states it comes with a side unless we want to upgrade for a different side not listed there for $3 more. I ordered her fruit which was listed on there and they still charged us $3. The drinks were also underwhelming, my go-to is the spa day margarita but it didn't have the foam it usually comes with and didn't taste the same either. The restaurant wasn't busy but the service was very slow and our food was cold. When we ordered a second round of drinks it took about 20 minutes to receive them and once I got my drink I noticed the glass was broken. This was my first Mother's Day dinner and I was very upset about how everything went down, especially because we have been coming here for years. We've had previous issues dining here such as cleanliness and we gave it another chance, but due to our recent visit I don't think we will be returning here. The steak nachos had your average decent steak, glazed with some sauces, what looked to be black beans as well. The nachos were decent, nothing to ride home about. Anyway we show up at 5:30 only to be told they just seated people in the only area that could accommodate us. There were other open tables for couples so why wouldn't they have sat them there leaving the space open for us knowing we were coming at the time?! He said we could sit outside (it was over 100 degrees), sit on some couches with a coffee table set up or else wait an hour. I couldn't believe they couldn't, or simply wouldn't, plan for a large party for a special occasion. The young guys at the front didn't seem to care to help us at all. We ended up going to a different restaurant in the area and spent $300 there. Perfectly crispy outside, soft inside, with just the right touch of sweetness. I'd come back just for those! Almost every surface is hard, there is no sound abatement, and the music is too loud. I guess it's fine if you don't want to talk to anyone else in your party. It's easier to hear outside, but it was 90 degrees on the day we visited. We were there for happy hour. PLEASE NOTE: only 4-5 beers are on happy hour. Hubby ordered a beer taster and water with lemon, I ordered iced tea without lemon and with sweetener. The water and tea came (lemon was backwards) and sweetener options were sugar in the raw or Splenda. I've never seen anyone actually put SITR into an iced tea - it doesn't melt. No straw to stir it in with, anyway. I asked for one and it was paper. We weren't off to a good start. Taster arrived, and hubby ordered a beer (full price, oops) and 2 appetizers. Food was delivered by two runners, not our server. Brussels sprouts were good, and mac and cheese balls were well cooked but in desperate need of salt. (The ONLY thing I add salt to in restaurants are eggs.) Server finally came back by when we were done with everything, 2 minutes before happy hour was over. At that point, I just asked for the check. I was in the area and decided to try this restaurant as it seemed quite packed. It's located across the street from a convention center/hotel so parking is a little bit all over the place... I ordered 3 items, nachos, salmon and cheese fries. The nachos were very bad, looked like they were just thrown together in 20 seconds with no effort and the cheese on them felt and looked like plastic, and the "toppings" on the nachos were just not anywhere near enough to cover much. Truffle fries were cold, and the grated cheese on them literally would come off with the fry like it was plastic cheese. And the salmon...very salty and practically uneatable, mashed potatoes tasted like baby food. My friends got two drinks and said they were both very watered down. Lastly, I kind of liked the interior vibe and ambiance of the place, however there was a group of people who walked in and sat right behind us, about 7-9 people. Unbelievably loud and very obnoxious and talking loud the whole time. I can understand guests being annoying but what shocked me was that no staff members felt like this was disrupting other guests, any professional establishment would tell these people to calm down and stop being so loud. Overall, a very disappointing experience considering a relatively busy restaurant, food was awful, only positive was that our food came out quick...which now that I see how bad it was, maybe wasn't so good. This is the perfect place to stop in for a bite before an Ontario Reign game (or any event at Toyota Center). The place is HUGE and has such a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Perfect before a hockey game! You can come here in your own or with a large group, and you'll be fine. Elysia was our server, and what a huge ray of sunshine she is! So incredibly sweet and took such great care of us. My friend had the double smash burger, and I had the pulled pork sandwich, both of which were EXCELLENT. Anyway, we were greeted right away and seated shortly afterwards. Ambiance was on the darker side, but kind of romantic with the dim lighting. There are inside and outside patio seatings. Check-in staff was super friendly. Our server was amazing and very helpful with recommendations. He checked back with us regularly to ensure all is good. Another gentleman asked if everything was okay... he may have been the GM not sure though. Thank you for the exceptional service! We came here primarily for the crispy glazed brussel sprouts so we got 2 orders LOL. Unfortunately, it didn't taste as good as the one we ate at the Claremont location. The brussel sprouts were not tender... quite crunchy and firm. The orange chile glaze was not as sweet. It just had a whole different texture and taste. Slightly disappointed because this was the original reason why we came here. We also got the chicken wings with half firecracker and half Eureka! bourbon-smoked dry rub. Well, it wasn't exactly half because it only comes in 7 count which I don't understand. If it's a shareable, it should be an even number so it's fair for all parties. Anyhoo, now these were amazingly delicious wings! I would get these two flavors again. I would have to get 2 orders to get to an even number next time LOL. Lastly, we got the seared Ahi tuna salad. I have always been curious about this place and today I decided to finally try. All I can say was that I was impressed. First the service was great. I had Kalis as my bartender and he was friendly. He provided amazing customer service and gave some great recommendations. He continued to check up on me even when it started to get busier. He recommended some of the food I got. So for the drinks they have a great beer selection. Today I tried the Bottle Logic's Huckleberry Blonde and it was delicious and light. Kalis recommended the double smash burger and the burger did not disappoint. I had also tried the bourbon barrel cake. Everything I had was delicious. We drove over an hour specifically to try this restaurant and were excited to finally visit. When we arrived, there was no hostess at the front, so after waiting briefly, we seated ourselves. The restaurant only had a couple of customers at the time, so we didn't think it would be an issue. Shortly after sitting down, the bartender approached us and appeared visibly frustrated. Instead of politely explaining their seating policy, she spoke to my wife and me in a way that felt unnecessarily rude and disrespectful, telling us that we needed to wait to be seated next time. We completely understand that every restaurant has its own procedures, and we would have gladly moved or waited if asked respectfully. What disappointed us was not the policy itself, but the manner in which we were treated. First impressions matter, and as customers who made a special trip to dine there, we left feeling unwelcome and unappreciated. My son ordered a salad instead of fries and the cold salad was served on a hot plate. My niece ordered a chicken sandwich and it was so over done she could only eat half it was so hard on ONE side. So weird. The bacon jam burger was fine, two people ordered that. The fryochos (fry nachos) used sliced cheese that was obviously melted in the microwave because it was literally still square shaped, white American cheese not melted enough to even hold the toppings on. The plates were hot but the food was not which was odd to us. The server was dismissive and was annoyed that gratuity of 20% was included and felt the need to say exactly that.
