Visiting from California, I decided to stop here because the pizza looked really good in the pictures on Yelp. I walked in, saw the sign that said to order at the register, so I did exactly that... and then stood there for about five minutes looking like I was waiting for someone to tell me I was in the right place. Nobody said hello, nobody acknowledged me, nothing. I honestly started wondering if I had missed a step. And I'm not exaggerating when I say five minutes. I stood there waiting to be acknowledged before anyone came over. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like when someone walks into a business, a simple, "Hi! We'll be right with you," goes a long way. I work in hospitality, so that's just something I naturally notice and appreciate. The funny part? As other people came in, I noticed they were greeted, so I couldn't help but wonder... was it just me? Oh well. Now, credit where it's due ....the food was actually really good! I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and banana pepper pizza with a small drink, and my total was about $21. The pizza was a great size, and I really enjoyed it. I honestly would have given you guys 5 stars because the food deserves it. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the lack of acknowledgment when I first walked in. A simple hello or "We'll be right with you" really does make a difference. Other than that, I'd definitely come back for the pizza. Hopefully next time I'll get the greeting too. read more

A lot to like about Etalian. First is the pizza. Between Pizza DiLauro, Biga, and Etalian the best pies in the Chagrin Valley. A self-serve, order at counter business model. Small selection of beer and wine. I've brought my own in on several occasions. Not fast food but not full service either. A selection of salads and breads also available. I looked around awkwardly not sure what they meant and they explained I needed to use their coffee machine to make the latte on my own. I love the pizzas at Etalian however, I do wish that they had lettuce salads. Not everyone likes spinach. At least I don't care for raw spinach. The service is always good, and the ambience is very cute. But I can't go because I'm not allowed to have carbohydrates. Please bring in some Romain lettuce! Cute little pizzeria with salad options. I had the Arugula salad and was delicious! We ordered three different pizzas. They are personal sized perfect size thin crust and absolutely delicious! I had the margarita, my son had the pepperoni and my husband had banana peppers with sausage. They loved it! Staff was friendly manager super nice. Now, Etalian has expanded their menu to offer breakfast wraps using their pizza dough and Italan crepes. My favorite is the bacon, egg, mushroom wrap with arugula and a balsamic herbed oil dressing. It is simply outstanding. Surprisingly, their coffee produced by an elaborate coffee machine is quite frankly better than Starbucks. Today I ordered their Etalian hot dog. Again, this wrap was the most different and best hot dog sandwich I have ever tasted. The charred dough wrap with banana peppers, basil and parmesan herb oil dressing brought this entry to a new level. Etalian has a great location with outdoor seating overlooking the falls. We popped in on a gorgeous fall day and grabbed a quick bite. You can't deny the welcoming atmosphere- the view of the falls, the indoor decor... really makes for a wonderful experience. I like a simple menu, it's usually means everything is done well. There was enough to choose from without being overwhelming. My pizza was fantastic. We really enjoy this place for dine in or carry out. The food is quality yet fast, and the ambiance is fun and inviting. Both salads are great although a Greek salad with spinach still perplexes me! This is the best New York-style pizza I've ever had in Cleveland and it runs with the best ones in Europe, NY, and California. I beg you to try the pepperoni pizza. You've got that slight char you can only get when the temperature is right, the slice is thin, perfectly balancing the sauce-cheese-dough ratio, somehow retaining its softness and flexibility while still being crisp. The crust can almost be said to be the best part as it has unbelievable flavor and it's crunchy on the outside but perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. I prefer a wood fire grilled pie, and that's what these were. Tasty and ratio of toppings to cheese and sauce was perfect. Today wasn't the best for walking around Charging Falls, but we had to. After picking up items my wife needed, we were ready for a late lunch, early dinner but not wanting something heavy. Located over looking the river feeding the falls of Chagrin, this place offers some of the best fire brick oven pizzas, this side of Italy! (might be exaggerating, but you get my drift!) We decided on splitting a Greek salad and the mushroom/ banana peppers pizza. The salad was fresh, and more than enough for two. Great choice. Then the pizza! After being spoiled on pizza from our Italy trip last year, we both felt we were back. Thin crust, and served HOT, this pizza was fantastic!. Perfect crust, just the right balance between the mushrooms and peppers, we both praised our choice for something to eat. Decided to give ETalian a try for the Restaurant Week Special after work on Sunday. Located in a restored historic building sitting over the upper falls you find a cool modern place. The inside is a nice mix of the original beams criss-crossing the ceiling, modern touches and a nice casual feel. The tables have an upscale patio furniture feel and there are stools at the windows so you can watch the river and falls. You can either order at a self-serve kiosk or at the front register, you pay and then they bring the food to you. For Restaurant Week you got a salad, pizza and dessert for $20. I ordered the Greek Salad, Fungo Pizza and Salted Caramel Gelato. Beverages are self-serve, there is a cooler, a soda fountain, beer, wine and even some small bottles of liquor. The restaurant was busy both with in house guests and plenty of takeout orders so service was relaxed but well worth the wait. The pizza came out first, a mix of spinach leaves, cukes, tomatoes, onions, olives and feta cheese with a Mediterranean Dressing. The salad was colorful, bright and very flavorful. Everything was very fresh, the tomatoes and onions gave a nice pop of sweetness, nicely salty olives and the feta was creamy and pungent. The dressing was bright and brought the whole salad together. Next up was the Fungo (mushroom) Pizza. The pizza is a thin crust wood fired pie, with a really nice sauce, grated mozz, mushrooms and banana peppers. The crust was excellent, thin with a nice bubbly crust on the outside and a nice smokey char. The flavor of the mushrooms was great, with plenty of earthiness and umami; the banana peppers provided a nice contrast and crunch. For dessert the salted caramel gelato was nicely balanced, with just the right amount of saltiness and just a bit of burned sugar flavor; smooth and creamy. ETalian is a great place to get some exceptional food in a nice casual atmosphere. The food is high quality, flavors are big and bold, prices are reasonable. Well worth a visit. read more

I forgot to ask for it "Al Portofoglio" (folded wallet style), so it was served cut with scissors instead. This is a great addition to Chagrin Falls. It's casual - easy to walk in and get takeout. I think it would be a good option for if you're just looking to stroll around town. We ordered takeout and got all the vegetarian pizzas, cheese bread, 2 salads and cannolis. Depending on your appetite, 1 pizza per person would probably be sufficient. I loved the tomato sauce: it tasted like crushed tomatoes and was really fresh. The only thing I wish was different was that the cheese bread was bigger.
