Found this place when I asked Siri where's a nearby place to get a sandwich. Everyone inside the store was so friendly. The store was clean and well laid out with a nice selection of sandwiches and Italian entrées and desserts. i'm glad I got there when I did because when I left a little bit after noon, the line was much longer. Stopped in to grab a to-go lunch. They had several prepared sandwiches in one of their display cases. Store was Nicely laid out and with a stop in. I had the Franco salad with a house dressing g which I enjoyed. I also had a muffuletta sandwich. I really enjoyed that too on a hard crusted but soft inside roll. This is NOT the traditional bread this sandwich is served on, but was an excellent option in my preference. The olive spread was also less definitive in this version. Stopped for some takeout on our way back into town. This was our first time in. Everyone was very helpful. Great selection in the case and bakery items. I'm in this area often, yet I never knew there was an Alesci's nearby. This is a combination Italian grocery, coffee bar, deli, pizzeria and bakery. You can dine in or carry out. There are lots of ready made items for a quick and delicious meal. We picked up the broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breasts and green beans almondine. I popped them into the oven and 15 minutes later we had a terrific dinner. The grocery area is smaller than a typical Alesci's but still there were lots of fun items. (Glad to find a place that carries Tiberino pasta, their pesto Genovese is delicious!) They have a small, but interesting selection of Italian wines. I picked up a nice Sicilian red. While shopping we enjoyed a couple of espressos from their coffee bar and some nice Italian cookies--which were fresh, not like the dried out overpriced cookies you find in other stores. I didn't try the bread but it looked great and they were selling a lot of it. They also offer catering and boxed lunches. Glad I found this place! read more

Sorry, I'm done. The quality of the food cannot overcome the service here. If it was just once or twice, I wouldn't even be writing this. We've had catering orders that were missing huge components and embarrassingly left us without food at a dinner party at our home & the phone order takers are incredibly rude. I make a point to call later as to not be part of the lunch rush, so what's the deal? Everybody has a bad day, but it seems like calling here or dealing with this company turns my perfectly good day into a BAD DAY, so I'm done. Count me as one less bother or nuisance... The woman was super friendly and helpful. I tried the special of the day which was ravioli - beef or cheese and she let me mix and match them so I got 5 of each, 10 total. She asked me if I wanted extra sauce and Romano cheese. I agreed to both! Next, I went to the bakery where I got a piece of tiramisu. I went to check out and the cashier was super friendly and sweet. I ended up deciding to eat in, in a small dining area. They had utensils, condiments, etc. available. My ravioli were really good as was the sauce, but especially the cheese. A little salty with great flavor. The portion was large and I couldn't finish it. It also came with 2 pieces of garlic bread. The tiramisu was different sort of thick and dry, but not dry meaning over cooked. read more

They have quite a few food options here. Pretty much all Italian and subs. There was some quiche to. The reason they lost 2 stars because the staff was not friendly at all. The woman who served food, chicken fillets and sausage, etc. was completely unfriendly and abrupt. it definitely made me not want to come back even if they had amazing food. She didn't explain to me how the charge was by the way because I ordered pork sausage, and I would like to have a few more peppers on it then 2. I was buying for a group of people so I asked the cashier if they had plates and I got the abrupt answer of yes, but you have to pay for them so this isn't a good place to come if you are buying for large groups of people because like most places, give you silverware and plates. You have to pay for your plates. Parking is easy. Prices for the bakery stuff is very expensive. A small piece of tiramisu or lemon cake was over five dollars a piece. read more

Super disappointed. I ordered a cater order for Christmas Eve pickup. I was told 1 pm pick up. I got there right at 1 pm. I stood outside with everyone else as the line was wrapped around the building. I was totally understanding,along with most people in line. It was great to see everyone positive and not complaining about the long line. I waited and hour and 43 minutes. I finally got my 15 pieces of chicken piccata. This place is a gem here in Solon. I ordered food to go a few times on the way home when I was still working, and the place is right around the corner and on the way home from work. You walk in and the place is filled with incredible smells of fantastic food! I only gave four stars ONLY because it's a "touch" on the pricy side for what I personally ordered, but it was very good. I have purchased pizza ingredients to make it at home, and they have whatever you want. In fairness, I have only ordered pizza by the slice and a calzone, but the place is filled with literal delectables. This place was amazing! I had the Meatball Sandwich with a side of Alfredo Penne pasta and the meatballs were the star of my meal! The customer service was top-notch, as I got helpful recommendations for food and dessert. I don't know what type of pizza business this is but so far you do not have my trust to be effective, efficient, or trustworthy at this point. I previously wrote a review about a month ago saying that the pastry was stale. I asked when the pastry was made, I was told the previous week. Yesterday, my husband decided to give Alescis a second chance and bought a red velvet cookie. Hard as a brick. Apparently, no quality control and pastry is left out until sold even if it is weeks. Delicious food and the smells when you walk in are to die for. Makes me think of my grandparents' house on Christmas Eve. The only complaint I have is that there's no warning regarding nuts in the tiramisu (though there weren't many so it may have been a mistake). I've lived in Northeast Ohio my entire life. My family has used Alesci's catering for as long as I can remember, and it's always been delicious. So imagine my shock when I discovered how incredible this place is and how stupid I felt for never stopping inside in-person. While we'll always continue to do catering, I'm making visits here more regularly. My brain kind of goes into overload when I think about describing Alesci's. It's part bakery, grocer, coffee bar, prepared foods, and wine shop. They moved into this new-ish location somewhat(?) recently, and it's impressive. When you walk in, you don't feel like you're in Solon. It's so great, you imagine that you surely must be in Cleveland or Little Italy. It instantly became a new favorite place. Everything was wonderful-- the Italian groceries, the gorgeous cheese selection, colorful olive bar, the delicious-looking prepared foods bar...I could go on and on. But a highlight is surely the bakery. The items are DROOL worthy. For lunch, I ordered the daily special (cavatelli and meatballs) from the prepared foods bar. Oh my god. So. Delicious. I also picked up a pepperoni bread, a few drinks, a few cannolis, and a piece of cassata cake... all for nearly $20. This might not sound like a big deal, but when I consider what this all would've cost me in CLE, it would likely be double. I'm coming here way more often, whether for just picking up lunch or grabbing bakery/appetizers for a party. The suburbs are so lucky to have them as a local institution! read more

We stopped in Als Italian Deli & Market for a sandwich and did some Memorial Weekend grocery shopping. We enjoyed our Guido Sandwiches. They were made well when we visited, and the products used--meats and cheese were tasty and fresh. In the market, the different kinds of pasta, olives, and other products were priced reasonably. Watch out for some desirable items such as jarred Fabbri Amarena sweet cherries, they're charging 22.95 for a small jar, and you can buy them at Amazon for 11.99 for the same size jar, so that's quite a mark-up! People love to purchase these cherries to add to their Martini, Ice cream, and Chocolate Desserts. We were incredibly disappointed in their pastries as well. Everything we bought had to be thrown out. Everything was dry, even the jelly/fruited and cheese-filled pastries and the dough they used--old. We couldn't eat any of the pastries we purchased. But, if you want pasta, canned goods, beans, sandwiches, and a cup of coffee, their cold cuts and cheeses--I highly recommend those purchases. I also purchased some large unpitted green olives, and those are very nice! read more

This is a great little family owned Italian deli. They have lunch specials every day from ravioli to chicken Parmesan that include a slice of garlic bread. There's sausage peppers and onions is always delicious. The baked good section has something for everyone, and they have a pretty nice wine selection as well. There are a few tables to sit down and eat if you choose not to do carry out are usually come in for one or two things and wind up with a cart full of things I never knew I wanted! read more

We were looking for a place to get gelato and this came up in my Yelp! search. It was only a mile and half from where we were so we checked it out. I can't say we were impressed. The staff were not really friendly or helpful. We did get gelato but neither I nor my daughter finished ours. We both had Buttery Carmel flavor and we both initially liked the flavor we did not care for how grainy it was. The store was closing in ten min or I would have looked around more. The food is AMAZING. All of it is super fresh, because they are always super popular and I'd imagine they'd go through food quickly. You can't really go wrong with choices either: pizza, sandwiches, make-your-own pizza ingredients, small grocery, bakery and more! We were there when the store is closing up, and they throw away whatever is left over in the glass case. - Gelateria: Recently they started serving gelato. My Italian folks told me to judge a gelateria by the color of the pistachio flavor. If it's neon green, walk away. That's not the natural color of pistachio. As you can see from my photo, it is very pale, hardly green. And you can see whole pistachio in the gelato.
