Little Dinner/Deli in Solon Ohio, waitress was awesome she had a lot of tables but was the highlight of my visit. Got Steak and Eggs with Texas Toast and scrambled eggs. Eggs weren't bad , waffle fries were good as well, steak was ordered medium it was tough, chewy, and not great at all. Diner/deli was pretty full, lots of tables and booth for a smaller place. Came here again for their St. Patty's Day brunch and prices were kind of high for what they served. My BF ordered their corned beef sandwich and we were expecting a towering amount of corned beef...yet it was relatively flat. Portions were smaller that day and it was packed as usual (maybe even more so). Still, it's such a close by, no-frills local diner I want to support. I have been going there for years, and always have a pleasant experience. There is always someone at the door to greet and seat you with no hesitation. all the waitresses are very friendly, and attentive to your needs, my favorite being Bridget. Large groups coming in are never a problem. They will place tables and chairs together to accommodate you. Always a clean and friendly atmosphere. They have a great deli menu which is served fresh, hot, and as ordered. I go there often with family and friends. read more

I tried Chicago Deli yesterday for the first time and was pleasantly surprised - the hostess was super friendly upon entering and greeted us with a smile and did let us know that they didn't have any booths available so we were seated at a table - not a problem! It was very busy so I was happy we didn't have to wait to be seated. Our server was friendly and took our order promptly. The restaurant looked very clean and well organized. I got a chicken sandwich with avocado and it was really delicious! The portions are huge so you get what you pay for as it is quite pricy. Overall, I loved this little deli and will definitely be back. This is a great addition to Solon. Especially if you love Corned Beef! read more

We moved out of Solon some years ago and made a special trip out today. We were unaware this restaurant changed ownership, but should have surmised something was a miss as the resturant was empty. Unfortunatley, the experience wasn't what it used to be. Under the previous owners, the food and service were consistently excellent, which is why we made the trip. The selections have been drastically cut. The quality has noticeably declined. The food lacks the flavor and care it once had, the prices are higher and the service feels less attentive. It's disappointing to see such a great place lose what made it special. I hope the new management can make improvements, but for now, it's just not the same experience we used to enjoy. read more

Whenever I travel I like to have breakfast at old school diners and Chicago Deli is an old school diner. First impression was that the servers were super friendly which is very important because they can make or break your business. I also have a thing for chicken fried steak and Chicago Deli's is probably the best I've had. It was super moist and tender and the gravy was perfect. I will return for this dish. read more

My best friend and I decided to come in around 12:30pm yesterday. It honestly wasn't too busy and staff was extremely friendly. We were seated right away. I decided to just build my own sandwich and got a ham sandwich with lettuce and mayo on sourdough with a side of steak fries. My friend got the Ruben with a side of steak fries. The food came out fairly quickly and it was pretty good! We had no complaints. My friend really really loved her sandwich. Mine was a bit dry as the mayo was very scarce, but overall enjoyable. New ownership has destroyed this once busy restaurant. Corned beef was chewy and tasteless - rye bread was stale and dry. Chucken soup was watery and tasteless. Decided to give Chicago Deli another try, Menu changed again, I think 3rd time since new owners, and prices went up again. They no longer offer Home Fries, which used to be excellent, instead they give you little cubed potatoes, fair a best. Had Hot Roast Beef Sandwich, also fair at best and also charged extra for gravy on my Hot Roast beef sandwich. wife had turkey sandwich which was good. service was very good. The quality of the king corned beef left much to be desired. Granted, it's been about 2 years since I'd last ordered, the quality of meat seemed more like supermarket deli, rather than the scrumptious cut I previously enjoyed. New owners. New problems. I've been coming for about 20 years, and this is not the same business anymore. The last two times I went was under new ownership, and each time, I had different problems. On the first visit, they took 45 minutes to make a hamburger. It came out burnt. I sent it back. They remade it, but I didn't get food for an hour. In some circumstances, I wouldn't have been able to wait. The second time I came back, the burger patty was no longer the same as I had expected. It had shrunk, the meat quality had dropped, and the menu had changed overall to remove items. Looks like the new owners bought the brand and are trying to shore up the profits to pay back on their investment. Too bad they are messing with what worked. Regrettably, I have made the decision not to return anytime soon. The changes made under the new ownership have significantly altered the dining experience, and I no longer feel the same level of enjoyment dining here that I once did. read more

First time here. Seems very busy but they keep it moving. Large to go orders going out. Short wait for a table. Huge bowl of chicken noodle soup. Good but too many onions for us. Corned beef was outstanding! They say it is the best. Steak fries were good - no salt, but you can add what you want. Vegetable medley was good - just the right crisp! The California BLT was good. I skipped the ranch. Sorry ranch lovers, but if you have to add ranch I would rather skip it. Love the grilled wrap. So much bacon!!! Staff was moving quickly! Signed up for their rewards. The food was awful. Had the garden skillet which smelled like fish as soon as he sat it down due to the rotten mushrooms used. There were so many mushrooms the scrambled eggs were an off putting grey color. The server never came back to check on us so I never got a chance to tell him about the rotten mushrooms, the fact that they never gave me the potatoes that were supposed to come with it or the fact that he gave me sour cream instead of cream cheese for my bagel. Not going back it's gone so downhill since the last time I was there. I can make a better breakfast at home and faster and cheaper. read more

I enjoy this restaurant, and we eat here frequently when in town. Their dessert cakes are fabulous; I don't know where they acquire their cakes and pies, but wow, get a piece to take home, and today we brought home Carrot Cake. We enjoy their soups; Matza is my favorite. I love their Chicken Shwarma Wrap, and today I ordered a traditional chicken sandwich with Swiss and bacon; it was perfect. My companion ordered the Turkey Club. The service here is excellent, and every time I have gone, management has visited my table to ensure my order meets with satisfaction. Prices went up and the service is down. The corned beef is more often than not very dry. The portions are smaller than most other delis in the Cleveland area. The last time we ate there, our food was sitting in the kitchen for an extended period of time. A table of 6 people who ordered before us were finished eating before the 2 of us served! It used to be family owned. George, the former owner would personally greet his patrons and would make sure that the food and service were good. There are a few very good servers. However, they were often not scheduled to work when we were there. We used to eat there 2-4 times a month. Improvements need to be made before we return. read more

While the quality of the food seems to be the same they did remove quite a few things from the previous menu and 1 of those being my favorite grilled veggie panini and the beef/chicken kabob dinners and beef kabob pita sandwich. While we still dine here the removal of those particular menu items is disappointing. In addition they now have a new rewards program when you pay via credit or debit card. That appears to be in lieu of the postcards they used to send out for a buy one get one free entree deal for birthdays. read more
