Looking for a new place to grab some take out so we gave the deli a try. Food was good and portions were large enough for a second meal. It's obviously a popular spot since every table was full and there was a line out the door waiting for pick up. Staff were scrambling all over the place. This is kind of an issue for me given the current state of things- just too many people jammed into a small space for my comfort. Just okay. My family brought me here for Sunday brunch and although the servers and owner were friendly, the service itself was painfully slow. We ended up sitting and talking for at least 45 minutes before our food arrived. When it did, it was just average. My egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich was essentially an omelet on top of a bagel which is not what I was expecting. Again, it was okay but I have had better elsewhere. Usually when I order a breakfast sandwich the components are layered separately and this was just not that. This used to be one of my favorite places in Solon. Since the owner, George, sold the restaurant, it has gone downhill fast. My husband and I went for breakfast. At least 1/3 of the tables had not been cleaned, it took 15 minutes to ask if we wanted coffee. A waitress passed us three times in 20 minutes and said she'd be right there. We got up and left! We gave it a second try because when we went there right after ownership changed, I ordered a patty melt and sweet potato fries. I went here with my grandma when I came to visit her. Corky and Lenny's along with jacks was closed due to Passover, so we went here. My grandma got the matzah ball soup while I had a corned beef sandwich. The atmosphere was nice and you can tell there were a lot of regulars, my grandma included. The owner came to our table and said hi to us and talked to my grandma for a while, which was very nice. The place was packed! I had a taste of her soup and it was really good. Took the family to visit relatives in a C-Town suburb. We got off the plane, got our rental and started to ride eastward. When we got to Solon, we decided that we wanted to grab a bite to eat prior to our family visit. We used to live in this area but a lot of our old standby places were gone. So off to Yelp for recommendations - that brought us here. Overall, good quality, nice menu and good portions. I'd probably consider this place more of a diner than a deli as their menu is pretty diverse. My corned beef sandwich was pretty good. The rest of the family enjoyed their meal as well. If you don't go in with a plan, you're in trouble. This place has so many options that it was really hard to narrow down what to eat because everything sounds so good. The portions are pretty large and prices very reasonable. The desserts are the size of a newborn, so just keep walking past the display or you will be tempted to grab a tasty treat which no one will blame you for going for it. The service was good and fast. Most impressively, this can be one of the busiest delis on the east side (particularly on Fridays), but the staff handles it like total pros. We've been coming here for a few years as an alternative to Bob Evans. The potato latkas are great. Do is the challa French toast. Fast and friendly service. So we've been here a few times now but I wanted to wait and see if the issue was just a one off. But here's the thing, everyone is nice and no issues with the service... but it seems like the food is just ok and never comes to the table HOT. Just always somewhat warm. Last time we went for breakfast and my potatoes were literally cold. Granted the owner, or manager I'm not sure which, was very nice and brought my potatoes that were steaming. The steak I got really didn't have much flavor and was really thin... made it difficult to get it medium rare, was closer to medium well. I have lived in Aurora for over 20 years and for whatever reason have never eaten at Chicago Deli until now. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Our waiter was super attentive and very knowledgeable of their extensive menu and gave great recommendations when we asked. There is definitely something for everyone on this large menu, they have everything from deli foods, to Mediterranean foods, to good old fashioned comfort food. The owner also stopped by our table multiple times to make sure that we were happy with our experience. I ordered the New Yorker corned beef sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I will say my corned beef was a little dry but I asked for a side of horseradish which was just what my sandwich needed. I went there on a Saturday morning around 8:15 am. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and great service. The name of my waitress was Sam and she was super nice! I ordered the corned beef hash and it was so much better than a very famous deli in New York and Connecticut. The waffle was good also but I didn't taste it until I was done with my corned beef hash so I wasn't able to taste it when it was fresh off the griddle. Pretty much an average Deli sit down restaurant. I went here for lunch and it was a huge portion for the price. I had a tuna melt sandwich. It was honestly pretty bland. A good dill is sometimes hard to come by. Search no longer, amigos! They have different seasonal specials and although I didn't try it, I strongly admired the interesting options they had available for Fall.
