A great modern French Parisian meal.
A big step above a bistro or cafe, with beautiful plates and tantalizing flavors, but modest prices and a casual setting. Someplace you can enjoy a fine French dining experience without a suit and tie and without spending a lot.
This was one of our best meals in Paris. The flavors were well developed, the dishes well crafted and balanced. Four of us had the fixed price menu, and we tried to get a variety and share tastes.
The Tatin de Magret starter was really good, basically bacon on top of a caramelized onion tart with tomato. The white truffle crab ravioli was also fantastic. For Plats, we had grilled bass, veal loin, scallops, and seared tuna. The were all fabulous. The beef was exceptional.
Dessert was.... well everything we expected and more. Lemon sorbet with lemon cream, very dark chocolate mousse, caramel ice cream with grilled pineapple. Yum.
Overall, terrific value, outstanding service. The waiter let us and our kids struggle with French to practice, and was very patient. When we come back to Paris, we will come again. read more
