Always a friendly staff no matter how busy they are, they stay polite & helpful. Great drinks & delicious food. So expect a wait depending on the day and time you go or order..try to be patient or ask for an estimate wait time ahead of time so you're not the person throwing a tantrum outside the restaurant. They must have hired a new cook because the last time we went there, the food was subpar. It wasn't too fresh and moist. The chips were kind of stale, and the refried beans were dry. The shredded beef on the tacos was in big chunks, not to easy to bite into. Their food used to be so good. They do have great salsa. My husband ordered a margarita there a short while back. The owner made it. It tasted like water, it was so bad. The wait staff is very friendly, but if your waiter/waitress goes off duty, they don't let you know, so you don't know who is going to be waiting on your table. I don't think we'll hurry back there. Small family owned Mexican restaurant in Fallbrook, Ca. We were able to get seated right away with no wait, but the line got long while we were eating. Cute decor and traditional Mexican music on the radio. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive. We ordered the queso fundido which had flavorful chorizo. The chips and salsa were a hit. They had homemade flour tortilla chips...so good. I wanted to pick them all out of the basket just for me! The salsa was very fresh with just the right amount of kick. It reminded me more of a pico de gallo than a salsa. For dinner we ordered the flautas with carnitas. The order was piping hot and large enough to share. Overall a great dining experience. I think I may have eaten here when they were in Bonsall, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It is the only place, that I am aware, serving a combination of corn and flower tortilla chips with their salsa upon being seated. The food was a very safe rendition of many popular Ameri-Mexican favorites. Nothing stands out other than a few signature menu items that I think I remember. Just wanted to update my review. My mom and I come here almost every Friday and have not been disappointed once. These are the dishes we stand by: Chipotle quesadilla. So huge! We always share. Rib eye steak. Marinated so well! Cooked to perfection. Chamoy Margarita. Not too strong but delicious! Shrimp chimichanga. It's appetizer size but real yummy! Fajitas suprema. Cannot go wrong. I ordered from other viewers of Yelp! Recommendations and they are amazing!!! Like other mentions- must order a Chamoy Marquita! Not to be missed! Cute little place that was packed, we got a table immediately. Service was on point. Our waiter was very attentive. The bar tender had a rockin mustache and was working very hard to keep the drinks flowing. We ordered the queso fundido that had an awesome flavor of the freshest cilantro ever and chorizo was out of this world. I have never liked fundido THIS much. I actually ate more after my meal to the point of being miserable because it was so tasty. We also ordered carnita flautas...they were absolutely wonderful. Great fresh flavor. Meat was super tender. First off the food was amazing , second the service was my style of service meaning the waiter joked around he didn't sound fake when he talk to me . He was hundred percent was real . he always checked up on us . he told me about what his thoughts of food that went with I was ordering . I went with the three piece order ( hard shell taco , chili Reino , an mole enchilada , he help me out with my order which I really appreciated and honestly the food came out so fast and was so delicious I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Mostly us locals to Fallbrook patronize it but has been pretty packed lately with new people. Very very good food. We ate on the patio outdoor, which was a bit noisy. Service was prompt and attentive. Salsa is good, and I love the flour tortilla chips with it. I met a friend here for lunch today. I got a bean and rice burrito and a skinny margarita. My friend got the shrimp quesadilla and a glass of Merlot. We sat in the outdoor eating area. They had heaters out. The service was excellent. My food was very good. The chips and salsa were very fresh. They provided us with both flour and corn tortilla chips. If you're ever in Fallbrook, I recommend trying this cute place. It is small and seating is limited. They do take-out. read more

I remember when people all around Southern California talked about going to San Louis Rey horse training facility and the word was to go before the training session at 4am and you could get the best huevos rancheros ever. The El Establo in Bonsall closed and Ramiro and Imelda reopened as "ESTRELLAS" Then they widened the 76 and the building was demolished. Over the next few years they renovated two different buildings that had sat vacant for many years into landmarks in fallbrook. We were super excited to try this place, but when we got there we stood at the host stand about 10 minutes before anyone "greeted" us. When they finally came out, the man who spoke to us was cold and not friendly whatsoever. He didn't even look at us. We were not happy with how we were greeted so we left. The food was so-so. We ordered the red kid's enchilada, mixed fajitas (steak and chicken), and green chicken Encinas. I will say the portions are very generous. The fajitas are enough for 2 people, maybe even 3 people who eat smaller portions. The meats were tender but lacking in flavor. Red enchilada sauce was like "entomatadas" which was okay, but salty. Green enchiladas were too acidic. Overall, ALL of our meals were very salty. I would return but for margaritas and chips/salsa, and the service - not the food. Went to the restaurant today after working the farmers market. Had a great day at thr market & wanted to celebrate with a beverage and some salsa. The hostess was very nice and attentive. This can not be said for the waiter and bartender. The waiter brought us water & placed it on the opposite side of the table so we had to get up to get it. We sat in the bar area, watched our waiter place our drink order (1 beer and 1 margarita) and the bartender didnt acknowledge it. 10 minutes went by, no drinks. We watched him just standing there talking. Final a beer came. The margarita took 10 more minutes. When we were done the waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to ask the hostess for our check. Got the check, waited 15 minutes for the waiter to come around and he never did. We had the bartender ring us up. When we left the waiter was in the front doorway talking with another employee. He didn't even acknowledge us leaving. We won't be returning to this location and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We will be going to the smaller location in town where the staff is attentive and friendly. read more

Great place! Get here early when they have a live band on Saturdays! My favorite thing to order here are the steaks! Great atmosphere and the owners & management team is always "hands on" working with their staff. NOT PEANUT SAFE. That is the only reason I'm giving this a 3 star rather than a 4.5 star. The server was very gracious and did her best to give us a peanut free meal. But, the fryer is used to fry peanuts for the mole and then used to fry everything else as well. So...because of my sons severe peanut allergy, we couldn't eat anything fried...which was most of the menu. Tortilla chips, rice, etc. that being said, even the food we did have was really great. And the atmosphere was very pleasant. We'd love to go back but won't until there's a separate fryer for the peanuts. read more
