There are two Estrella's restaurants in town. We went to the smaller one and were not disappointed. They were able to set up tables and umbrellas in their parking lot and really made the atmosphere lovely. The food and drinks were great. There was a good variety on the menu. The chips and salsa were some of the best we have ever had. My husband had a great margarita and I had a nice glass of red wine. Everyone wore masks and the tables were set apart so it's COVID-safe. We recently moved to Fallbrook from Oceanside where we had an abundance of sit down Mexican Food restaurants. We were happy to come across Estrella's after trying a few other restaurants in town. The service stands out to me at Estrella's. They were welcoming, attentive, and friendly (you may be thinking that should be a given, but service is shifting over the last year, and it stands out to you when it is great!) The drink menu had everything you would want (including some LARGE margaritas if that is your hearts desire) and the food hit the spot. I tried the crunchy beef tacos and my husband had the mole enchiladas. We will be back....many many times! read more

On Saturday, 3/29/2025, my husband and I had an early dinner and drinks. My drink did not taste good and I tried to get a bartender nicknamed "El Goto" to remake it. The drink tasted like ice and chamoy and not enough mango. This Bartender refused and said there was nothing wrong with the drink. He seemed to have taken it personally. This bartender is about 5'2" with a cross tattoo on his neck, toothless, and rude. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told there was no manager. My husband asked if another bartender, if she could make the mangonada, she said she could not because she was afraid he would quit and she would have to stay and work a double shift. When we got up to leave she offered to make a new drink if we would stay. We shouldn't have stayed because this bartender kept walking by and taunting my husband acting like a punk. Apparently not all their cooks showed up and orders were not cooked in order of arrival , so after an hour we gave up. We watched newly arrived guests get their meal. I am trying out this place for the first time on my way to Oceanside.. I came here because of the reviews, and I have to say so far not very happy. Yelp says they open at 11am today I get her at 11;02. Not open, I called and no one answers the phone, doors locked but the side door is open. I open the side gate to go ask If they will open or not. Thus one girl comes and says it's not an entrance. I was trying to ask if they were not open because there door says 10 but Yelp says 11.. she didn't even give me a chance to say anything and said 10more mins.. at this I should've just went across the street to eat BUT I figured y not give me a them a chance may they are behind schedule...I wait a few more mins and the girl again now opens doors puts front tables out and says oh you can have a seat outside.. didn't even walk us in just walked away. Nice right... then our server comes and offers a menu and drinks. Again not polite, no smile nothing.. just plain rude! I ask my husband, is it me or do they have an attitude? He said yup they do since we walked in... so at this point I am going to try there food and write a real review on their authenticity of MEXICAN food me being mexican.. stay tuned! I would love to give this place a solid five stars, but I'm gonna have to go with four. You will love the food, the prices and the portions. My friend and I went for dinner. There were only three servers and every table was full. It took about 5 minutes for them to acknowledge us. And another 10 to get ask for our drink order, while we lusted after the amazing food on the other dinners plates. My poor friend, needs to be gluten free and found out the hard way, The Tortilla chips somehow got mixed up, corn and flour commingled in the same bowl :( She totally got #GLUTENED. So.... tell your server. Learn from my friend!!! Don't be her! If you like your ice tea fresh brewed, order a water. When we got our main courses, they were amazing!! Like we didn't talk to each other until our plates were 1/2 way clean, because the portion sizes are huge. I really enjoy coming here! The food and service is outstanding. I come here a few times already and every time I have Leidi as my waitress she is always on point with customer service. Today I was surprised with a birthday song and dessert by Leidi and Andre. My husband or I didn't even ask for that to be done. It was a nice surprise and gesture. They used to be worth the price but after our last visit, I'm not sure anymore. One of our two burritos was essentially half filled and barely a meal. On top of that, we've been coming here for years and even after Covid hit they've always given us free hot salsa for our food when we asked. My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place! It has been a while but we used to go here every weekend almost religiously! Only bad thing I have to say is they have messed up the order a couple of times, but it is bound to happen when you have been there as many times as we have! So it was a nice place to side the waitress was nice, the drinks were good, but the food was bad we ordered the grilled fish tacos, she said it was halibut. It was terrible don't order it the meat was dry overcooked and re-heated probably several times. My son ordered the Carnitas, they were also very dry. He did complain and ordered something else. The enchiladas were good, like the green sauce. she brought more carnitas they still lacked flavor. My niece order the torta the meat was very chewy also. This place would have gotten 5 stars but the fuckery that day brought it down. My bf and I went during avocado Festival, which I would assume would be busy. However, it wasn't so my bf called and reserved a table. We get there literally 7 mins later, he goes to speak to someone about the reservations and they act line they don't know what he's talking about. He has a mouth in him, but he keeps chicken because he realizes the person is a minor lol. So the table never gets reserved. Instead of rushing us to get a table right away, we wait for about 40 mins. We periodically ask what's happening and they're having issues trying to find a table for us. At this point, I'm ready to go but my bf loves this place so we continue to wait. I, however, do not like lines nor people who are incompetent, but Whatevs. They finding tell us there's a table for us but they're waiting for the people to go so they can clean it and then we can get seated. I see an open table outside and suggest that one. The girl says that's give And they apologize, but it's just not good enough...for me anyways. We get seated outside and order 2 OMG chamoy mango margaritas. They run out of that size glass but the bartender says he'll refill them twice. I thought, "Ok, cool". We order, we get our food and it's flipping delicious. Although I don't think the wait was worth it. I barely eat my food because I'm drinking so much, but the drinks were delicious. In the end, I wish they'd honor us a little more with respect and did better to get us seated right away for the mishap. This has never happen to us before and this is my second or third time coming here so hopefully, this is the only hiccup. read more
