I understand things happen, but what was frustrating was there was no attempt to offer a solution. No earlier or later reservation time, no bar seating option, no waitlist, nothing. Just a cancellation an hour before our reservation after we had already planned our evening around it. A reservation should mean something. It felt like our table was simply given away because a larger party came along. Not a great way to treat customers.

I have to give a shout-out to the wait staff. Maria was amazing! She made recommendations and was always coming back to check on us...and always with a smile. She made the experience and is one of the reasons I would recommend the restaurant. She wasn't walking through the motions - a value-add for sure. Now to the food. We just had water with our meals, but they have a full bar and what looks like a fun cocktail list. We started with the mother.Guacamole. It was FANTASTIC! It's a must have. Then I had the Braised Beef Tacos - which is 3 tacos with a side of salsa verde. You can ask for other sauces, depending on how hot you like it. My friend had the Cured Pork Belly Tacos, which she loved. Since it was my friend's birthday, we shared the Apple Pie a la mode Empanadas - which were delicious. The prices were great too! For all of that, our bill, with a 20% tip was $63.00. (I've had lunches for 2 that end up being about $50 and the food wasn't as good and we didn't have the dessert.) Highly Recommend.....I will definitely be back!

Not great, not bad, but in my opinion not worth the calories. First time trying this local spot in…read moretown and unfortunately wasn't impressed. I really wanted to be, because honestly I would love nothing more than to support small business. Their branding and graphics stood out to me, the aesthetic of the space (exterior + interior) was solid and the menu was intriguing. But there were a few things that stood out to me, I'll explain... Not necessarily their fault BUT their refrigeration had been down/recently repaired so some menu items we would have loved to try were unavailable. Healthier options were limited. Their outdoor metal seating was so incredibly uncomfortable, the chair arms physically hurt my legs. I couldn't sit still the entire time. Food took a long while to reach our tables, and I'm pretty patient when it comes to a wait time. The brisket empanadas we ordered to start were tasty, crunchy but did NOT need the white sauce on top. It made the empanada soggy in areas and made the dish feel heavy overall. I ordered the Ramen for my main. Aside from having it spilled on top of my legs and shoes when it arrived to the table by the young gentleman serving, it lacked umami and dimension. The egg was the tastiest part of the ramen dish, that should tell you everything you need to know. I wanted to love it, as I am a big fan of ramen. But it was very one note. But I will say the quesabirria my husband ordered was tasty, just a bit messy to eat but that is expected! Overall, would I come here again and/or bring friends/family to try? Probably not. But don't let my review sway you. Judge it for yourselves, you might order something that you thoroughly enjoy!

THANK YOU ROSARIO!!! We started with a regular sized nacho platter. It had seasoned grilled chicken. Delicious. We also enjoyed the warmed tortilla chips and salsa. My younger son loves their queso so we ordered that to go with the tortilla chips and to pour onto the nachos. So good that way. You have to try it. We were a party of 5. My husband and I got taco salads. I got mine with ground beef. He got his with chicken. My 3 sons all got the Quesabirria tacos. I almost did too because it's that good. Drinks were Spicy Piña for my son. For me, I got the Mangosissimo. Wow!! That is the most amazing drink. You have to try that too. I got mine on the rocks. Alternatively, you can get it frozen. Then for desserts, one of my sons ordered a flan to share. But in addition, the servers came out and presented my son with a giant sombrero to wear for that perfect b'day pic, a churros and ice cream dessert with lit candle and also sang happy birthday to our table. It was amazing, loud , and fun! Even patrons from another table stopped by and wished my son a happy birthday. My son said it was the best b'day dinner out. Thank you Casa Herrera!! We will be back for every birthday, holiday and for any reason to go have another Spicy Piña and Mangosissimo.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant, mostly because of the bartenders…read more They came across as rude and unwelcoming from the moment I sat down. It felt like asking for a drink or even a simple question was an inconvenience. Instead of providing friendly service, they had an attitude that made the whole experience uncomfortable. Not to mention, it took me 10 MINUTES to get a server. The food made me feel sick afterwards and the poor customer service at the bar overshadowed everything else. A welcoming atmosphere starts with the staff, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here. I hope management addresses the customer service issues because it has a huge impact on the overall dining experience. Based on this visit, I wouldn't choose to come back.

We stopped here for an early mid-week dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Food here was for the…read moremost part very good and in larger than expected proportions. We definitely over-ordered but told plenty home for leftovers. For appetizers we ordered the pork belly bao buns and the Thai salad with shrimp. These are more entree size so be forewarned. The bao buns came in a taco server and had three buns filled with plenty of pork and a spicy aioli. The Thai salad came with 5 nicely charred shrimp and a Napa salad. This ate a little dry-I would have appreciated a bit more dressing- but I can see where more dressing might have made this a bit soggy. We would definitely order these again For entrees, we tried the burger and the chicken pot pie. The burger was a double patty with cheese, pickled onion, and a mayo based sauce on a sesame bun. I have to say I was happy to see that they opted out of the usual sad lettuce and anemic tomato that is typical of early spring. I think it was lacking some salt as it was missing something but overall was ok and served with crispy shoestring fries. The pot pie was topped with some puffed pastry and had a nice velvety sauce with hints of tarragon. Very nice. My dining partner finished my burger and took most of the pot pie and the side salad that came with it home. Even though my dining partner couldn't finish his regular entree, he wanted dessert. After looking at the choices the server suggested the seasonal dessert which was beignets with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries. I was reticent but was happy with the choice because the chocolate dipping sauce (of which there was plenty ) was DELICIOUS! The beignets were fried puff pastry or croissant dough that one dipped in the warm chocolate fudge-y ganache and/or whipped cream. I ordered coffee which paired well with the dessert and it was delightfully fresh. Service was good, friendly and attentive. Decor is industrial farmhouse. Do not park in the lot next to the building because it is for the US Postal Service and your vehicle will be towed. The Blueberry Shaker was only 3 dollars more than the regular drink and it yielded a total of 4 drinks for my partner. The drinks were good. For our meals we had the Steak and Shrimp Bourbon, Bourbon Street Burger, and a side Caesar Salad. Everything tasted very good. The decor is New Orleans Style although not completely authentic. There is a beer garden for those who want a less formal atmosphere. The hostess was incredibly good at her job. She was very friendly and engaging. We really enjoyed her service. First, my girlfriend and I arrived to the restaurant. We requested a specific table, and the host was gracious enough to do so. We then waited 8 minutes before our table was even touched, and it was just our (server? No intro, nothing) ASKING us if we'd like water. We say yes, and then waited an additional 5 minutes just to receive water in PLASTIC cups. Again, this person never told us his name, and we weren't even sure if he was taking our order or not. He appeared to be about 18, and was most certainly high Then, we requested glasses, and since it had been 15+ minutes since we sat down, said we were ready to order when we got the glasses. The guy took our order. We both got cocktails, which also took about 10 minutes. Finally, our appetizer came. We weren't even halfway through before the entrees came, we probably had about 10 minutes to finish it. This all could have been negated if our order was taken correctly, and things could have been staggered correctly. The "two bite" check occurred within 30 seconds of our food being dropped, and by then I hadn't even touched my food. It was way too early and felt like he was just trying to get it out of the way. At that point both my girlfriend and I were just ready to eat and we said everything was fine. I had to ask the guy for a bag on the way out, rather than him giving me one after our food was put into 3 boxes. I want to be empathetic of whatever was going on at The Social that Sunday. Yet, if you are going to make your steak $42, the service needs to justify that price. I will not be going back to The Social, and encourage their management to speak to their server who flubbed the ENTIRETY of my experience there. Myself and my girlfriend both work in the service / restaurant industry, and we know what good service is. We also understand that there are bad days. This was just abysmal. 4/10.
