Baklava, rich and delicious at Estia Kitchen.

Estia Kitchen is outstanding! We wandered in to Estia, a recently opened place on Broughton St, in Savannah, GA on a recommendation from a friend. It really was amazing. Estia's staff was incredibly helpful with a food allergy, and was able to customize my dish. I'm allergic to cucumbers, so I'm always wary in Mediterranean restaurants and know to ask before I order anything. I had the Chicken Barg and it was incredibly flavorful and came with a salad that had cucumbers, and they made one for me without them. We started with the Omani Shrimp, which were very well seasoned and grilled, served over a bed of arugula and with a zhoug sauce (which was new to me!) but it is sort of a citrusy almost chimichuri type sauce that was delicious. And we also had the hummus with lamb. It had crunchy chickpeas and pomegranate seeds as well, and it has to be one of the best hummus dishes I've had. We ended the meal with an amazing baklava, that had soft philo on top and a really rich nutty center. Needless to say, we will be back to Estia soon!

Wonderful food and staff. Had the make your own bowl. A lot of great options. Beautiful decor and soothing atmosphere.

Build your own bowl (sauces are zhoug and pomegranate molasses vinaigrette -wow) and chicken kabob

Beautiful restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, and the best food I've had in a very long time. Every item pictured was 10/10 (haven't tried the baklava yet but I can assume it's amazing). So flavorful and fresh. We live in Jacksonville FL and this place is definitely worth the trip!

    Beautiful space

Beautifully renovated space! The food was amazing with lots of gluten free options (including GF pita and GF falafel....incredible!) Kudos to Hersch, our server, for helping to make this a wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back!

Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!

We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.

I came here three times during my 5 day stay in Savannah. There is no better stop, in the middle of the day, than at a beautiful location with a lovely glass of wine, and equally wonderful women happy to show you something new. The wine was great, the people were friendly, it was comfortable and welcoming. I also got some great local recommendations and some new wines to look for when I get home. They have a trivia night and live music, and offer something a bit different than all the other businesses on the river.

There was one other couple that was leaving and felt as if the bartender was annoyed by us coming in. He came to our table with glasses of water and was ready to take our order shortly thereafter. Had an idea of one wine to try and spoke highly of it without asking about my taste preference, which is something I was not used to. I did enjoy the wine though! While we were seated another couple walked in, received the same cold greeting and then walked out. The wines are selective here and a bit on the pricey side. They offer wine tastings at $28 for 4 sample which I find a bit steep. Overall, this wine bar is beautiful but felt between the coldness of the bartender and lack of guests it seemed a bit off.
