Time tested establishment serving cheesesteaks, hoagies, pizza, and side orders. My large bacon cheesesteak was almost spot on but the bacon wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. I added a side order of fries and my total was $15.90. Well worth the money as the cheesesteak was very tasty and filling! read more

Best sandwich's , remember to bring cash. Makes awesome cheese steaks. Always ask any contractors who are here over lunch if they would like lunch from here and it is a resounding yes. read more

Esterlys has some of the best cheesesteaks in Pennsylvania. This is not an exaggeration! I've eaten cheesesteaks in Philly, all over the Lehigh valley, Pittsburgh, etc. and these are the best. Never greasy, always perfect mixture of cheese and meat, and great price. They have other wonderful food too but I usually stick to cheesesteaks from here. Pros: Good prices Amazing food Friendly staff Large portions Cons: Cash only Parking (just on the side of road) Only carry out (summertime you can sit at picnic table outside) read more

Esterly's Mertztown, PA. 3rd generation cheesesteak makers. These cheesesteaks have been around the world. I love this area. This is a converted house. I am 90% certain that the grill room use to be someone's bedroom. It is the 'no grease' cheesesteak. The 'no grease' makes it a great traveling cheesesteak. $5.90, yes $5.90. At $5.90, if you live in this area you are wasting money if you don't eat here every night. It had the Pennsylvania Dutch soft roll. That is a very good change-of-pace roll. Sneaky good amount of meat for $5.90. Very good amount of cheese and very good cheese melt. With 'no grease' you can really taste the meat and the cheese. Nice sauce and I like the big chunks of fried onions but I wish they were mixed in with the meat & cheese. Overall, very good cheesesteak. @Mikeyyyeatz did a very good job. read more

Esterly's Sandwich Shop - Had a good time - Sandwiches Near Me

Esterly's Pizza may be love it or hate it. This shop has been in business a long time and is a favorite of many locals. Something about the sauce is extra tangy and a little sweet. The cheese is just toasty enough. The crust chewy without being too dough-y. I usually get a side of pierogies and they are somewhere between fried and steamed, love them and have never seem them elsewhere. I like the friendly service. This is also the home of the "no-greasy" cheesesteak, and it is very good, though the pizza is still my favorite. It's not NY style or Chicago style, and perhaps more American than Italian, but still worth a shot. You may love it as much as I do :o) read more

I drive past this place all the time and friends said it was good. So today was the day to stop and give it a try. Quirky decor but lots of fun things to read while you wait for your order which you can eat at picnic tables outside or take out. Honestly the best cheesesteak around. The rolls are so soft and tasty! Prices are insanely cheap but bring cash! You can also wash down with a Kutztown soda which is always nice. Can't wait to go back to try the ham& cheese! read more

I've had a lot of cheese steaks in my life and I can honestly say that the bacon cheese steak from Esterlys is one of the best. Never had a greasy cheese steak and that's what they're known for. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the service is fast and that's about all you can ask for from a takeout shop. read more

Remember to call in early on a sat and Sunday in case thay close a bit early. And always check ahead when there closed for vacation. 2 times I called and thay were close a bit early. But were not on vacation. But there food is great I always go here. I think summer hours are shorter and winter hours longer I might be rong tho. But yes best to call early and not 30 mins before thay close. Or stop to order your food. Im glade there here. And food is great. read more

Pretty good cheesesteaks. I appreciate them making non-greasy cheesesteaks, but in my humble opinion, cheesesteaks should be greasy. I feel like if you eat a cheesesteak once a week, it's probably better for your health if it isn't greasy, but who eats cheesesteaks for their health? They are tasty, just not my style. I can't fault them for that and would recommend everyone at least give them a shot. read more

Why have I never heard of this place before all the food here is amazing from the cheese steaks to the chicken fries

Round of applause to you, my friends. Excellent cheesesteak. Cheese chopped with the steak (the way it should be). None of that melted on top crap (Lehigh Valley) onions had a pleasantly surprising sweet/zesty flavor to them so it actually neutralized the savoriness of the sandwich. Roll was fresh, soft, and chewy. I typically prefer a hard roll but this was still exceptional. I'll easily be coming back! read more

The only thing I've ever had from this establishment is their cheesesteaks, which are AMAZING! Probably tied for the best I've ever had. We've never eaten there, only called ahead for take-out. No parking and only a few outside tables next to the road which can get busy. That's why we just pick the food up. If I had any complaint it would be their hours. They close by 6:30pm, so if you want dinner from there you have to plan ahead! I think this is a small Ma & Pa type business which is probably the reason behind the limited hours. Also worth noting they're cash only. read more

Some of the best cheese steaks you can get in Berks County hands down! Even though you have to tell them to hold the stupid sauce. If I wanted a pizza steak, that's how I would order, Berks!!! Keep doing what your doing, love this place. read more

An amazing shop, really unique and the bacon cheesesteak is the best steak sandwich i've ever had. You can order pierogies 1 at a time for 40 cents each, and they are better than regular old frozen Mrs T's. read more

Once again everything was amazing. Bacon Cheese steak is the best around. Being able to pick it up with no grease is amazing.

The best cheese steaks around I stop every other week before work to get my lunch. I even pick up 4-5 steak sandwich's for a group of us before our shift. Cheese fries are really good to and the guy behind the counter is always nice. read more

I could write along review as to how it's worth driving out in the middle of nowhere to get the best steak sandwich ever. I worked in Food Service as a chef for over 16 years. I'm telling you it's the best steak sandwich I ever had. You must go and try it for yourself. I guarantee it read more

I love the cheesesteaks at this place, they are excellent. Don't even read the guys review with 1 star, you wouldn't go to a red lobster and order a steak and get all pissy when it sucks would ya? than why order a pizza at a sandwich shop that specializes in cheesesteaks? read more

The cheese steak might be good . But the frozen pizza is horrible . They should take the pizza sign down and just put a new sign up saying cheese steak shop. By tricking the public to think that they are a pizza shop is foul. I won't ever step foot in there again. As for the pizza as I took one bite and spit it out. I realize that this was the worst pizza in a America. read more
