Everything was perfect, food was great. Our server yaz was very sweet. We will be back!

We ordered the lamb chops and the dish was served in minutes with hair on it .The manager took the dish in the back and came out with a new dish right away which makes me think it was the same dish. We were not offered any discount and when the bill came out the waitress stood there and waited for payment Rudely. I will not return! read more

The food was very mediocre, when I tell you the salmon was very gooey and soft I don't think it was cooked fully. But the waiter was very nice and also attentive. It was a very busy night on a Saturday night I think they had a private part upstairs , the door was VERY chaotic. Atmosphere was ok , small restaurant but the decor was nice . The drinks was good I won't lie I'll give it a 4, will give them a second chance on a weekday not a weekend . read more

Strong drinks, very friendly staff, awesome bar tenders, good music and dope vibe! With Obama-lookalike manager Make sure to ask for the meatball appetizers. It's off the menu and so delicious. The flatbread was good too. You'll have a good time here. read more

Estella is one of Boston's best restaurants hands down. I've been a few times and can't recommend enough. I loved the food, ambiance and drinks so much, I had a birthday party and a group dinner here with friends. The asparagus fries, brussel sprouts are divine. The lamb chops are my favs but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, portions are also big. So many delicious cocktails to choose from but my fav is bloody orange concoction . And best of all the owner, management and staff are top notch. They are so attentive, hospitable and accommodating. You feel at home but in a beautiful palace with the gorgeous gold esthetics of the place and marble walls in the bathrooms, etc. I frequent all the best restaurants in Boston and this has easily become a top on my list. Can't wait to go back!! read more

AMAZING RESTAURANT VIBES ARE GREAT AND FOOD IS EVEN BETTER. I've visited this restaurant on multiple occasion and my last two visits I had the pleasure of being served by one of the male waiters. However I will say that his people skills aren't the greatest- as he came off very passive aggressive. My party felt rushed and an attitude from the waiter. He is a great server and making sure your food is correct as well making sure you have what you need. But his people skills were not appropriate. This review is not to bash, as I mentioned prior he's a good server; but so that maybe there will be an improvement and awareness . read more

Lina was awesome. Gave great suggestions great customer service. She deserves a raise. So nice and helpful.

Myself and my partner went to Estella for a dinner prior to going to see a show at the opera house. For appetizers we ordered the coconut shrimp and the pretzel knots. The coconut shrimp appeared very burnt but my partner liked the pretzel knots. For my main I got the filet mignon and the mashed potatoes which was an okay meal nothing exciting at all. My partner got the salmon with fettuccine dish. They gave her bow tie instead of fettuccine she also said her dish was okay. Nothing here is bursting with flavor. The food is simple okay. The decor is really nice however. If you are going for a couple beers I'd recommend this place but not for good food. I think there needs to be a little bit more thought and effort placed into cooking the food they serve here. read more

I had dinner there last night, great fun ambiance overall but what made it even better was our server Josie. she was kind, funny and very knowledgeable on the menu. The best thing we got on the menu was the lobster Mac n cheese which the server recommended. We had also got the short rib which was pretty good too. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My cousin and I took my aunt here to celebrate her birthday. We were originally seated under the stairs where it was dark and gloomy. We asked the hostess to change our seats. We moved upstairs which gave an excellent view of the restaurant. One of the wait staff offered us water while we waited for our drinks. Upon receiving the water my cousin noticed there was a lip stick stain on her glass of water. This is the most disgusting experience I've ever had at a restaurant in all my years of living. We explained that we would be leaving and while attempting to leave the manager aggressively begged us to stay. And we continuously explain that this was a special night. Thankfully we able to go across the street to Boston Chops and turn the night around. read more

Wish I could leave a 0 star review but unfortunately that's not an option. I was fortunate enough to witness the manager of this restaurant fire an employee after she had asked to wait to speak to a manager. It looks like others have also witnessed this based off of the comments!! YIKES! I'm sorry, but was customer satisfaction not taught to the owners of this restaurant? Did they seriously think people would want to keep coming back to their restaurant after seeing how they treat their employees? Well, you lost me from coming back, and it seems like you lost other people too based on the reviews left here. Also, ya your food is trash. Stop trying to overcharge for shitty food. Do yourselves a favor and get new managers for your restaurant, or just shut down. Either way, I won't be coming back read more

We were in a pinch to find a reservation downtown two days ahead. Estella fit the bill - great location but I see why they had lots of open tables. We were seated in the basement which was a bit depressing. The drinks were $16 and terrible. Wings were good hummus was not. Beggars can't be choosers :) read more

Amazing customer service food was delicious, the steak was good calimary was delicious

I'm saying no because I don't want others to experience the same disappointing dining experience that we had. The menu is a bit confusing - a limited number of new American dishes including "pizza" - but the owner I believe is Cape Verdean. Not that the food needed to be from this culture but it would have been nice to have 1 or 2 dishes that represented. Overall the food is frozen meals that they cook in their kitchen and garnish. We started with the brussel sprouts, which were essentially huge burnt sprouts in a thin unappetizing cheese sauce. The ceviche was okay but super sweet and the chips were borderline stale. After the 2 apps I decided to play it safe with a chicken sandwich. Another disappointment! I was served a large fried chicken breast slathered on bbq sauce and blue cheese with crunchy fries. The fries weren't bad but they didn't have malt. My daughter ordered the Irish pizza. A cardboard like this crust with little flavor and definitely not chef made. My mom had the Shorty & Mash (short rib with mashed potatoes) the short rib portion was decent. But it was dry looking and covered once again in bbq sauce. Plus there was a very small serving of the mash. Oddly enough we ran into a relative at the restaurant who was there to support the establishment as well. He ended up leaving after realizing his coconut shrimp appetizer was straight out of the frozen food section at BJ's. I believe he even questioned the waitress about the authenticity of the food. The service was slow for a 2 pm late Sunday lunch for an eatery that wasn't crowded. We were there for over 75 minutes, with at least a 10-15 minute lag between apps and entrees. No pics to share because there were no memorable dishes. I will say that the venue seemed okay with the exception of the dirty restrooms (one even had an overflowing toilet). Good luck to you Estella! read more

Absolutely terrible experience. We were seated immediately and we ordered our drinks , apps and meal as suggested by the waitress since she said it would be better. I ordered a negroni and my wife just wanted a root beer. We ordered pretzels and then our meals. After 45 minutes our app came out. The pretzel was cold . Still no drinks. About 10 minutes later my negroni came out and they informed my wife they didn't have any root beer. She then asked for an iced tea. I tried my drink and it wasn't exactly what I expected from a negroni so I asked the waitress if what I got was the negroni . She said yes and then suggested she can ask the bartender to double check. Twenty minutes later , my wife still didn't have her drink and I haven't gotten my drink back. We had to ask for a refill if water. At this point we decided to leave. We told our waitress we were disappointed and just wanted to pay for what we got . She looked at our order realize we didn't get anything we ordered and said don't worry about. She said she was going to bring the manager immediately but then proceeded to take another tables order. She then walked us down and said she was going to have us talk to the manager but I think she just brought us down to walk us out. Unsure if she was worried we were going to make a scene or not. It wasn't the best way to celebrate my wife's birthday or valentine's day. read more

Awesome dining experience. Staff went above and beyond! Great ambience. Excellent food.

Atmosphere was amazing. Service was subpar. I went for an after work mixer. Instead of hiring pretty people they should try hiring pretty people that understand the service industry. The bartenders were absolutely overwhelmed. The floor staff had two rocks in their brains between the few of them. I had second hand embarrassment for this establishment. I would've loved to meet the hiring manager. There's no way that he/she looked at this staff & felt confident to put them at the helm of service for a busy event. They were great to look at but piss poor to execute any type of request or problem solve. It's 2023. This restaurant group needs to get it together. read more

Estella has been my Friday night getaway when I can getaway from my busy work like. The service staff are amazing and attentive. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. We enjoyed our wings and calamari.

I never write reviews but after our waiter asked us multiple times to write him one I figured I'd comply. This experience was WILD. We told our waiter early in the night that we were going to a show around the corner after dinner and he took that information and ran with it. We paid our bill without being showed the itemized and only upon request were we finally given the full itemized bill. ONLY TO FIND that we were charged for a BOTTLE of wine, not a GLASS and we were also charged for the "on the house" dessert our waiter brought over unprompted. We ask to get it corrected (which took two tries) and they applied an automatic 20% tip??? He said we chose 20% but that was before they royally screwed up our bill and wouldn't let us adjust it. I'm not a Karen but it was giving *we are going to try to scam you because we know you're late to this show and are drinking too much to ask for the itemized.* Also the food was mid AT BEST and the music was giving 21 year old club. Don't go here read more

Three of us stopped in after a show. Menu is online only and all over the place. The food we ordered was delicious. Kickin Ribs, Muscles and some Mac and Cheese. It wasn't busy and it was fully staffed. Our waitress took our drink orders while someone else gave us water and plates. The waitress wasn't very attentive and as I said, it wasn't busy. She stood at the end of the bar while she and the 2 bartenders were more interested in their phones. Drinks and food came out at different times and our waitress didn't deliver it, someone else did. Although pricey $183 for 2 drinks and 2 meals and 2 appetizers, the waitress decided to add 25% to the tab. I work in the restaurant business and although I understand the automatic tip, 25 % was over the top considering she did basically nothing and there is no place listed that gratuity is included. Every place I've gone to is up front about it. Deceptive and for that reason I will not be back. read more

Amazing service and food was great! The bitcoin wings were soooo good! If you are in the Boston downtown area and are looking for a nice night out, i suggest Estella! read more

I looked at the food photos online and the menu looked good. But, I was disappointed. It sounds ambitious... lamb chops with rosemary, beef short rib with mashed potatoes... The lamb chops were thin and very well done. There was no rosemary, it was some kind of chutney/salsa that was a bit bitter, some kinds of herbs I couldn't place and something else (could have been pineapple). I scraped it off. The beef short rib was well cooked, fell off the bone, but was sitting in a puddle of what tasted like barbeque sauce. So diappointing, a beef based sauce or jus would have been so much better. The bang bang cauliflower was fine. The place is LOUD, and much more casual than I thought it would be... I heard they are open til 2am so some people go there after theater, but I heard it gets even louder the later it gets. I wanted to try a new place in the theater district, but I won't be going back. It would be better to go with an old standby like Legal Seafoods, someplace in China town, the new Chinese place where Teatro used to be, Ostra (very $$$$) or some other place. I won't be going back. read more

The food was great, and the service was even better! loved the atmosphere of Estella's and the music was great. Early 2000s-current.

Service was absolutly terrible, our waiter completely ignored us, and we needed to be out of the restaurant by 7, which was told and understood. Our food didnt show up until 6:40, and we asked multiple times for water and the check which never even came. My $38 filet was literally rotten, It was the consistency of yogurt, i didnt even need my knife, it was like eating mashed potatoes. It even smelled awful, and I ate half of it thinking it was just me, before my family at the table informed me that it wasnt and it was a rancid piece of meat. Now i have food poisoning because of it. Please dont serve rotten pieces of meat, and please take this issue up with your waiting and kitchen staff as well as management. They need to be taught how to professionaly work in a restaurant and to take responsibility for screwing up, enough making excuses every single time. Just overall an awful experience and will not be going back. I dont want to risk food poisoning again. Im sorry this is a bad review, i have nothing against anybody personally. I hope whoever is reading has a good day. read more

We loved this place! We were in Boston for a short stay as part of a bigger vacation trip and heard about Estella's from another traveler. It was incredible - the friendliest and most attentive staff I have ever had the pleasure of interfacing with and the food was great!. We had the coconut shrimp and their mashed potato crust (that's right) pizza. Both were wonderful and we would definitely order again. I love pizza but have a problem with grains so I was thrilled to find this pizza option. I HIGHLY recommend it and Estellas'. read more

This is a really cute bar. The drinks were really good and the staff was very friendly. Also, we only got the apps, and they were good; excited to come and try dinner. The music was excellent as well. My only critique is that I wish they dimmed the lights earlier in the evening. The vibe is gold and black leather and I think it feels much sexier when the lights are dimmed and you can appreciate the chandeliers' glow. It is a new bar, and they're still finding their groove, but I am very excited for this place and I hope they do well. read more

I had such high hopes for this place as I planned a dinner date with my wife . Don't believe the reviews the service was a NEGATIVE -0 terrible terrible. Went in at 7:15 no one approached us till 8 ,plp we're walking out to our left and right , plp we're complaining about wrong drinks being served them. The male waiter had no idea what he was doing,He was very rude and unprofessional. At 9:00 me and my wife had enough and ended up walking out. I spoke to the manager how disappointed we were as everybody else was walking out and I told him I'm willing to pay my bill, but I'm not leaving a tip as the waiter came down, and I handed him my credit card, he could care less about his service to us or anybody else and when I told him I'm not leaving him a tip. He got very upset as I put my hand on his arm to explain to him the reason he told me don't touch me with an aggressive tone and wanted to fight me a CUSTOMER imagine that . I change my mind and told the manager I am not paying for anything. This is very unprofessional and we will never come here again. The manager voided the bill as we walked out. PLEASE PLEASE listen to my review do not go there on a Friday or Saturday night. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER read more

Diners beware. What you order from the menu is not what you receive. Asked for the strawberry fig jam missing from my burger...was handed a jar of strawberry preserves. Burger ordered medium arrived well done. My husband ordered the pork chop dish, which was supposed to be two pork chops...one arrived. The staff is super nice but still learning. The kitchen needs work. Great location though. read more

Hands down the WORST dining experience I've ever had! Had a 5 pm dinner reservation and noted in the reservation - and told everyone we had a 7 pm showtime to make. We were seated upstairs and told immediately they were short-staffed, with only one server upstairs. Drinks and apps came within 20 minutes. But, then ALL SERVICE STOPPED for 90 minutes. Every time we asked for not only our food but for even just WATER, we were told, "just a minute" or "I'll check on that" - but nothing. It was just apology after apology - even from the manager - but, no food, no water, no check - after asking multiple times for all. Finally got food at 6:40 pm - couldn't even choke it down because the filets, lamb, and chicken were all undercooked, and one of the $38 filets was legitimately rotten - food poisoning that evening confirmed it. It was all inedible. At that point, we literally had to YELL across the EMPTY dining room for water - since we still couldn't get that. Through all this, our server NEVER ONCE CAME TO THE TABLE. There was never any honesty from the manager either - multiple excuses of "system trouble," "shortstaffed," and someone "didn't speak English" - even though all other tables were served, and checked out, all while we waited. We left, hungry, with nothing but empty apologies, excuses, and food poisoning. Never, ever, ever again will I eat here, or recommend this restaurant. The people in management have NO business being in those positions. I am a regular on the Boston theatre circuit, and a pre-show dinner is a must - always looking for new restaurants to try. Some are hits, some are misses - this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to go online and leave a WARNING - STAY AWAY FROM ESTELLA - not worth the money, aggravation, or potential pain and suffering. read more

Just not a great experience and really not great food (except for the burger) walked in and asked for a physical menu (QR code said ask server for physical menu if you preferred) and they said that they didn't have any... My boyfriend had left his phone at home so we had to both share the online menu on one phone. we got asparagus fries (parmesan, herb, buttermilk aioli) just not good at all. so chewy that it wasn't worth even attempting to eat more than one. I got the "Stone Fruit and Prosciutto" Entree I will include the description for context. This was under ENTREES. "stone fruit, prosciutto, cucumbers, romaine, microgreens, champagne vinaigrette" it may be on me but I expected a heavy charcuterie type plate. it was just a salad. a romain salad with a little prosciutto and a few slices of peach. unripe peach.. over dressed romain. my boyfriend got a burger that was really yummy! fries came in a "fry basket" that was super cute but about ten fries in the basket. margaritas just weren't good.. I hate to write them off I just hope they'll evolve the longer they're there! read more
