I had the classic facial by Hannah and I can honestly say it was the best facial I've ever had, and I've had many--from New York to LA--Hannah has a gentle touch that made the experience relaxing and effective. My skin was glowing. I was so happy with the facial that I decided to come back the next day for a lymphatic massage with Jenn. I wish I could give them zero stars. I was never asked what I wanted for my nails. When I called to book the appointment, I wanted to keep my long natural nails and use a color dip, no tips. Instead she did a god awful THICK French tip. I was cut multiple times and she even drew blood, which she then dipped my fingers in the powder. Super unsanitary! Almost cried in the appointment from how horrible these are and how much she hurt me. When I was leaving and expressed my concerns, the receptionist had the audacity to ask me for a tip! I don't believe I should have had to pay $70 for the experience I had. It's sad, because I really wanted to try this place because of their really amazing reviews. 0/10 Do not recommend going here unless you want to get something completely different than what you ask for. Got a facial with Tammy and a mud wrap and massage from Jyn last week and the whole experience was wonderful! I love the vibe the place has from being built in a home and each room was decorated uniquely. Tammy customized my facial and did extractions without causing damage to my skin. She did an oxygen treatment with Hyaluronic acid that made me feel hydrated and glowy for days! Jyn is a great massage therapist and also customized my experience. She did some cupping on me for a particular stubborn knot and I kid you not it released something that made me feel like I was getting more air when I breathe! The whole place was also very clean. I just had a wonderful day of beauty at Essentials Day Spa. Tammy was my aesthetician for facial, Staci gave me a marvelous sugar scrub/massage, and my nail tech for the pedicure gave me a very careful and safe pedicure. I left "a new woman!" It's not fancy. It's in an old house in downtown Denton. I'm an old Dentonite, so it totally worked for me. The vibe is quiet and calm and everyone is friendly. Also, very affordable. I had a suite of services that cost me $305 plus 20% tip. I'd do it all over again. And I will. read more

Treated myself to a facial a few days ago and felt so lovely and refreshed during and after my treatment! The wonderful steam, blackhead extractions and mask application were all excellent, but I think my favorite part was the neck, head and foot massage! I also enjoyed the cozy, super soft blanket and sheets and felt very pampered! My only suggestion would be switching the music inside the facial room to something more spa/ocean-related and perhaps offering tea or a refreshing beverage! read more

AWFUL customer service. Staci here is extremely rude and selfish. First she asked about moving my appointment (made weeks in advance) to fit her schedule better then she cancelled on me same day. When I asked if there was any concession that they could give for a same day cancellation inconvenience, she got very defensive. I had already rescheduled with another worker there and Staci was unaware of that- bad communication all around. Would not recommend. read more

I put my body through a lot of abuse due to the job I have. Staci always gets me back on track! You know it's an awesome massage when you fall over putting your pants on cause your body is jello. Essentials is such a nice spa! They were especially polite while I was confirming an appointment for a massage over the phone. I had an expired gift certificate and they still let me use it! The massage therapist, Staci Waggoner, was very friendly and professional. Her room was very calming and dimly lit with sweet smelling candles. The only drawback was that when you walk in the door it smells like acrylic nails...not so good. I would definitely go back for a massage! read more

The spa itself is charming and relaxing. The massage suite was very relaxing. I could have just hung out in there with a glass of the Godiva liqueur that was provided! Lol! My massage was decent, definitely not the best I've ever had. Staci was very nice, I just did not prefer the technique. The spa is one of the best ranked in Denton, and there were women coming and going, so it's definitely worth a shot if you are looking for spa services. It's just not for me. read more
