Of all the massages I have had this was the worst of the worst. The "therapist" yawned throughout the entire session. He only massaged one foot. For some reason he rubbed the tops of my ankles forever. My back was rubbed in a weird circular motion like he was washing a window but only on the right side. He forgot the rest of my back. He squeezed the back of my neck until I asked him to stop as it was so painful that I had a headache for 2 days. No arms, legs or hand and left foot massage. There are not enough characters in my review to list how awful it was. I am not a complainer, but I am today. I see a lot of good reviews on yelp but I would never go there again. I really enjoyed my experience here and loved the employees. The atmosphere is very calming once you get in there. The only reason I am not giving full starts is because of the application of the facial masks and time that the facial masks were left on which left me for more to be desired after the amount I had spent to pamper myself as a birthday treat. The massage was really relaxing and all of the people that worked there that I encountered were very likeable and friendly. I was able to schedule a same day 90 minute body massage with David. I have had so many massages in my life, and THIS was by far one of the best! David incorporated some stretching on my arms, legs and neck into the experience which wasn't expected but I highly appreciated. Price was also lower than other places I've been a member of. Yo, save your money.....go somewhere else. We do couples massages all the time, but first time getting one here. Dont get me wrong, super nice staff, but it was the most awkward experience ever. First off they use towels instead of sheets. Not a deal breaker but sheets cover more. The poor girl trying to massage standing on me had no way to balance herself so she was constantly stumbling and falling. After she almost hurt herself and me she decided to stop. Dude massaging my wife didn't have a shirt on ????? And they do these stretches moving your legs around but since you have a towel and not a sheet it doesn't take much movement for the wrong body parts to see light....even with clothes on underneath. Been twice for a full body and both were great! Recently went for a 30 min reflexology foot massage. You lay down with feet in water, which hurt my back. Then... it ended up being a shin / calf massage. Barely touching my feet and never massaging the bottom of my feet that truly hurt from high heels all weekend. If going for full massage- great. Clean and Relaxing My husband and I both go here, frequently. We have been at least 100 times. We have never had a bad massage or ill treatment. If it's too much pressure (or not enough pressure) you need to speak up like anywhere else. It was easy to get my meaning across even though some of the workers may speak broken English (no pressure or yes pressure) and I don't mind repeating it until I get what I want. The employees are kind and respectful. We have always left there feeling pampered and relaxed. They did leave the room momentarily to go get the hot stones we requested. We will DEFINITELY go back. My second time visiting King Spa in Denton TX, and to my surprise, I didn't expect to be racial discriminated against. I PAID for our services, and afterwards was held "hostage" because they assumed they wasn't going to receive a tip. I always tip!! I tip each person in cash, but my mom offered to pay the tip, and had to go her wallet. While waiting on my mom to return, I was going to make an appointment for next week, but the maussure yelled, "NO....more tip, 20% tip more, more money.." I charged the tips, even though I had cash, but I wasn't giving them cash I needed proof for my records. She was calling "someone" for help probably 911, and said the N word. I don't feel like explaining to the police, that I've already prepaid for my services, but was charged 20% more. looked around no signs are posted "requiring" tips. After going to Groupon and finding a deal, I called to make an appointment. The receptionist was so nice and accommodating that he honored the Groupon price without my having to purchase through Groupon. On the next morning, while en route, I received a friendly confirmation call. Upon our arrival, we were quickly checked in and our massage sessions began. W-O-W! I cannot say enough about this place. I had an hour sauna session and the 70 minute Tibetan foot massage. Everything was so amazing. Everyone was so kind and friendly. I felt welcome immediately and can honestly say that this was the most amazing massage experience I have ever had. 35 minutes were dedicated to a back massage and holy smokes! My tech was fearless she went after every knot and spot of tension like a warrior going to battle. I had to drive an hour and a half to get here and am only kinda joking when I say that I'm considering moving to Denton so that I can see this masseuse everyday. By the time I left I felt like a cloud. When I say everyone is kind, that is an understatement. They had 3 people at the exit genuinely smiling their faces off and thanking me profusely. You would think I was a family member or a movie star. Best spa experience of my life, hands down! Disclaimer: I saw that 1 reviewer complained about the towels on the table, the paper towels where you put your face for the massage and the language barrier. Yes, many of the women I encountered had difficulty explaining things in English, but they were genuinely so kind that I really didn't care. I even had a few miscommunications, but we were able to laugh it off together. Yes, there is a paper towel where you put your face and yes, they use towels on the table/to cover you. If you want the most amazing massage of your life, these things shouldn't bug you. (They didn't me at all!) everything is very nice and clean, but if you are just looking for an experience where they wrap you in silk and golden angel's tears and you don't care about the quality of your massage, then this may not be the place for you. I had the absolute best massage ever! This place has been opened for a while and I have contemplated going each time I Visit my nail shop as it is right next door... I finally decided that I was going to check it out and I am so glad that I did. I was pleasantly greeted as soon as I entered and showed the menu for the different services that were offered. I went with the 30 min foot and 30 min back massage. I believe it was called "heaven and earth". I had a short wait (about 3 mins) while my room was getting ready... Lin was my masseuse and she truly has angelic hands. She started off with a foot soak and foot massage (So glad I went go that pedicure first-ha!). The foot massage was so wonderful that I almost forgot that I was also getting a body massage. LIN applies just the right amount of pressure. She was very gentle, yet effective in getting rid of all of the aches and pains that have been bothering me for far too long. My whole body was included in the massage (head, ears, hands; legs, back, arms...). I caught myself dozing a few times, it was that relaxing. That massage was so bomb that I was already mentally preparing for my next visit . The price, atmosphere and overall experience was excellent. I walked in wobbling like Fred Sanford (Sanford and Sons) and walked out runway ready like Naomi Campbell. This massage literally put some "pep in my step". Last minute on a Sunday would seem impossible. I had no idea of what to expect The receptionist was extremely friendly and pleasant. My masseuse's name was May and she did exactly what I asked her to. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! She did ask me to remove my shirt and bra while she sitting right in from of me, but that didn't bother me as much as it did some others. I had the 70 minute Tibetan massage with hot stones and couldn't have been more satisfied with my service. Steer clear of this establishment. When I entered the first thing the receptionist asked me was "Cash or Card". I responded card, I then asked who would be the masseuse she and another guy pointed and said they were a team. Before I could even respond she began to work her neck insinuating that I had a problem. She then pointed at the wall to address her being licensed. Before I could process anything internally , such as the unkept foyer and sweaty masseuse she exclaimed, "Pay now! Cash or card!" I peered back at my sister appalled that this is even happening. The receptionist then screams "IS THERE A PROBLEM?!?!" Multiple times. My sister advised that we should leave she screams BYE and proceeds to venture into her cellphone. I understand tensions in the world, but I'm so shocked that this is what the world has come to. I really hope that God blesses her heart because that anger is unflattering, especially in a place that's supposed to be serene. Her hatred had to come from somewhere internal. TERRIBLE! I live 30 minutes away from King Spa but knew I'd be in Denton on a particular day so scheduled an appointment. They called me 30 minutes before my appointment to say they were running AN HOUR behind schedule and could I come later. I could NOT as I have young grandchildren to pick up from school. I had to reschedule for two weeks later when I was back in the area. When I arrived for my rescheduled appointment, they were 20 minutes behind (they said) but ended up being 35 minutes before they were ready for me. They did not listen AT ALL to me when I told them my problem areas. They just did "their routine massage" with no emphasis on my areas I discussed prior to my appointment. I went there today and had an amazing 70 minute massage. The place is clean and relaxing. I'd never had a reflexology massage so for some reason I thought it'd be just a foot massage. It was cold out so I wore heavy sweats and a sweatshirt. What I'm getting at is: it's full body, so you'll want to wear lightweight clothing. The massage itself was great. Very thorough and relaxing. This is Denton's best kept secret! I've been here multiple times and have always had a wonderful experience. I've always gotten same day appointments for different types of massages and have even been able to move my time up after plans changed last minute. I had a deep tissue massage with Lee/Li (spelling??) given my severe scoliosis and other back problems and it was absolutely amazing. Pressure was perfect and she worked on any knots or problem areas I had coming in. I've had the Swedish massage twice and the deep tissue for the first time today. They really care about the guests here, too; I said I was cold and they brought a heater to the room, they always give you water walking out and hold the door as well! I actually walked out feeling so good that I'm sitting in my car in the parking lot writing this review, lol!! You won't regret choosing King Spa for your massage. Highly recommend! I am not the type of person to post reviews but I felt like I needed to share my experience here. During my service I received a male to do my full body deep tissue massage for 60 minutes which I had no issue with. During the actual service though this male was extremely inappropriate with where he was touching and also removing articles of clothing off my person. He also ripped off my towel when I was asked to flip over onto my back. These people also aren't licensed in massages and I could definitely tell during my service. This place is an absolute waste of time and money. Don't pay $75 dollars to basically be sexually assaulted. Not to mention the pressure was too much and when I asked him to go softer on specific areas he spoke zero english. read more
