I'm visiting Denton from Boston, and desperately needed a gel manicure. This salon had mixed reviews. Some hated it, some loved it. So I decided to hope I would love it. I called in advance, and was told I could walk in. I did that and was taken right away. My technician was Jennifer. Jennifer was very nice, but we had communication problems. I picked a color, and I asked if she would please do the gel thin so it would look natural. Her reply was, "I do gel, I do dip. Sometimes I do gel, sometimes I do dip." So I again asked if she would please do the gel thin. I got the same reply. I gave up, because she clearly had no idea what I was saying. After she was almost finished, I looked at the nails and they were lumpy - and I mean there were BIG lumps of polish on several of my nails. The polish was uneven - it just looked horrible! I pointed at one of the lumps and said, "This is not good." I showed her the lumps on all the nails, so she filed the gel down and attempted to fix it. The final result was much better, but still not good. She massaged one hand/arm by pouring oil and some very greasy lotion on me and massaging it in, including all over a bracelet I was wearing. She didn't give me an opportunity to remove it, so I didn't have her massage the other arm. I felt completely covered in grease. For those who love this salon, I guess it all depends on who you get. Sorry to be negative but here it goes. Place was very dirty and just nasty to be honest, very decoration had months at the least of dust and dirt. Multiple staff sitting in chairs playing or whatever on their phones and talking loudly to each other. Multiple massage chairs looked like they had been attacked but a lion . The chairs also at one point had cup holders with plastic I'm assuming and ya all those are gone. We were asked several times to pay during our pedicure and that has never happened anywhere else so that was different. They did offer wine and that type of stuff but we declined due to the cleanliness of the location. The lady's did an ok job on our pedicures but the whole process seemed hurried. Fat Boy Tip: get your feet and toes done at least once a month if not every other. I would just select a different location when wanting to actually relax. With tip I think it was 130-140 so at that price you can find better options. Also they don't take any form of Apple Pay or phone payments. read more

I originally came in to get cat eyes done, and it didn't end up working because the polish was expired or something. So I asked to get a star or 8ball on my ring finger because my nails were already black, which is not what I wanted to leave with, but I was ok with it until the 8 ended up looking horrible and nothing like an 8ball. This was my first and last visit to this nail salon. My mom and I were initially going to go to Deluxe Nail salon located in the area but she took a wrong turn and saw this salon so decided to go there. This salon is dirty and unorganized. I asked for a classic pedicure and a manicure with dipping powder. When the pedicure lady asked me which pedicure I wanted I told her I wanted the classic pedicure and pointed to it on the menu. She kept pointing to the one just above it (coincidentally more money) and pretended like she didn't understand what I wanted. Eventually she "understood" what I was referring to. The pedicure turned out ok but the I didn't appreciate the initial interaction with her trying to upsell me when I was very clear with what I was requesting. The man who approached me for my manicure was friendly at first but when I asked for nails to be shaped in the almond shape he became agitated. He took a very long time to do my nails and seemed almost angry because I didn't want the square round shape. I had asked him to file them a little more round and he became more annoyed. As he was finishing my nails a strange man came out of nowhere and aggressively grabbed my feet and w/o saying a word he put my sandals on and then walked away. This was the strangest and most awkward experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Their customer service is poor and like I mentioned earlier that salon needs a good cleaning. read more

I've been here one time and ready to go back. Service was friendly and fast. I was in and out within 45 mins. It looked busy, but I was seen and worked on right away. Note, it was during a weekday evening. I got a pedicure and dip nails no tips. My nails lasted for almost a month! They didn't lift or anything like some other nail dips do. He did miss some of the corners of my nails, but because of the color it wasn't too noticeable. My friend brought up a chunky sparkly gold nail polish and he went around and found a better combination for her to get the effect she was wanting! Normally love this place but today I got Elaine. She did not do a good job. My nails are uneven and super thick at the bottom making them look really bad. I told her they were too thick and she proceeded to lightly go over them and move on, not fixing the problem. Now I have to go home and fix them myself. Second time going and the absolute last time!! First time I went, I was great!! And this last time, things were going really well with my manicure nail tech until the owner came over and basically told him he had another client waiting. Then the tech basically rushed through the rest of the work, while I would check each hand and pointing out issues, the tech told me he would fix or to let my nails dry and he said would fix. After he put on the top clear coat, he turned off the light and went over to start on the next clients. I said something about the work to the tech doing my pedicure and she said she would get him back over. When he came back over I told him the issues and asked him to turn the light back on (top coat not on the sides on the nails and deformed nail) and wanted them fixed and he basically grind down one the nail and tried to use the emery board to remove the side of the nails where I just asked for them to apply top coat to the sides as I wanted the whole nail covered. He continued to try to do what he wanted to eliminate the problem (which would have jacked up my nail structure) and I told him to get me some acetone and I would just take them off. He got up with attitude and went back to the other client. Then the owner came over, and I attempted to tell him the problems. I pointed out that the sides of my nails didn't have top coat and he told me that was my skin. I explained it was not skin as you it was color and you could clearly see the top coat was not there. While I was talking, he told me to calm down and I had not raised my voice or done anything that warranted him telling me to calm down but asked them to fix it or take it all off. The lady that did my toes, ended up fixing the issues, but the entire time she was helping fix them, she pointed out that I should have gotten an appointment with the lady I saw last time since she did what I like. I had tried to get an appointment with the tech from the time before, but she was not available, nonetheless, all the techs in that shop have a job of doing the clients nails to their liking and correct any issues. Regardless of another appointment or client showing up, the person you are currently helping does not become any less important when the other client shows up and your work still needs to well done. When I went to am check out the owner was on the phone making an appointment, had enough time to tell me the cost, swipe my card and give me a receipt to sign, but not an apology or even a thank you! read more

I saw multiple nail techs just sitting down not doing anything but nobody wanted to come help me they all just stared. After a few minutes multiple nail techs just walked past me. After walking past me so many times they sent 3 nail techs over to my friend and I and they took my phone to show the nail techs sitting down and nobody wanted to do them even tho it was the simplest design. I am super disappointed from my visit today. To sum up my story below: only come here if you want a signature or higher nail package OR YOU WILL BE TREATED POORLY!!!! I went with a friend and asked for mani-pedi. I got the classic pedicure and asked for the select manicure. My friend got the signature mani pedi. Luxe Nail Salon is the first nail salon my friend and I decided to try out since we moved to Denton and I can firmly say we will never be back here again. The customer service is awful and unprofessional, they didn't even have name tags so I don't know names but it was two men who did our nails. The final result of my nails were beautiful but the application had to have been completely wrong because only 10 days after I have had 3 nails break. These aren't just your typical nail chips either, bloody nails and little heartbeats beating in my nail beds, I believe this was because every time he applied glue before placing the nail tips on he only held the tip on for literally 1 second, not long enough at all for it to dry thoroughly. My nails have not lasted at all and while my nails were being done he kept tugging on them & cutting the sides of my nail beds. Not only did I receive a bad nail job but my nail guy was creepy as well and very rude, he made snarky comments and overall the whole situation was very uncomfortable to sit through. read more
