The technician who attended to my pedicure did not wear gloves, and his nails were long and unclean. additionally, he smelled strongly of smoke, which made it difficult for me to breathe. the quality of the pedicure was subpar. he did not cut my cuticles correctly, struggled with shaping and trimming my nails, and the overall result was unsatisfactory. the polish and base coats were not allowed to dry properly, resulting in several of my nails being smudged. furthermore, he did not speak English and did not seek assistance for translation, which hindered communication. the foot massage was inadequate, and despite informing him that the towels were too hot, they were still used. The entire process felt rushed, leaving me extremely disappointed with the service. I will not be returning and I am so disappointed I had to pay in full. read more

I'm very picky when it comes to atmosphere and hygiene and this place has both. The prices are the same in the area, but the staff is personable, skilled and efficient. I have gone to this place several times in the past to have my eyebrows done, though I have never gotten my nails done here; I usually only ever get my nails done once or twice a year because they don't really work well with my job however, I am on vacation this week, and wanted to treat myself and my daughter, who is 3yrs. I have seen mixed reviews online concerning this place but my friends' nails always look amazing so I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! It was my first time to do the dip nails the guy that was working on me was extremely friendly and made an effort to talk to me, my daughter, and my friend who came with us. He was very gentle with my hands without me having to say anything about the nerve damage I have in my hands and wrists. The woman who painted my daughters' nails was so sweet, she came over and painted her nails and talked and laughed. Whatever you do: don't go to Jimmy. I haven't had my nails done in a while. I was excited to get them done, and I had gotten my toe nails done here a while back (years ago). They were packed, and I was set up with Jimmy, a male nail tech who looked frazzled, turned off, and hurried. I was there to get NexGen nails with tips. His kit was messy, and he appeared to be very unorganized from the get go. This should have been my first warning, but instead of walking out the door, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now- I had healthy, unpolished, virgin nails when I walked through the door. He filed my nails down so hard that I felt shooting pain. When applying the tips, he constantly kept messing up. When I asked if I could go shorter, he let out an angry sigh, yanked my hand, clipped the tip more, and more or less shoved it in front of my face for approval. At this point, I didn't talk to him for the rest of the manicure. I left with bumpy, uneven, poorly-filed edges, and a pointer finger that has a completely crooked nail. I was so peeved. I have been coming here for years. In the beginning it was awesome. In the last 6 months it really has gone down hill. Today 7/30 I called to make an appointment for 2 people for mani and pedi with Yvonne. Well, evidently the lady that answered the phone didn't understand English and only booked 1 slot. When we arrived Yvonne said she had another appointment and could only do one person. I was surprised because I clearly told the young lady 2 people. Yvonne asked if it would be ok if someone else did our pedicures. I told her I could come back tomorrow and she said no, no we can do it. I told her if she's ok with that we will let someone else do our pedicures. I have my Mom sit with Yvonne to do her mani. I wait for Thomas to come and do my pedi. He sets everything up and we get started. He ask what color for the gel nails. I tell him. Since I am wearing gel he has to file it down and then put nail polish cotton balls on it to completely remove it. As he files on my toes I keep jerking away because he is peeling the skin on my toes. He stops and switches the directions of the nail file which is not rubbing my skin. He places the nail polish cotton balls on toes and wraps them in foil. I am wondering why I never went through this much pain before with Yvonne. Ok this guy must be new give him a chance. Then he comes back around, removes foil and begins to file and gets in my skin, again. Now I am starting to cry because he adds the nail polish remover to the toe that now has an open cut. I jump. And he's trying to put on the nail polish remover cotton ball on. I holler for Dennis the manager and tell him this is not going to work. He asked what's the matter I said he's making me bleed. I have two toes that's scraped from the nail file. He says ok and is looking for someone else to do it and I said no I am not staying here. I don't trust y'all to do a good job anymore. I get out of the chair and go outside to talk to my husband. Now I am full on crying on the phone with him. I look down at my toes and realize I have to go back in or go home because my nails look like shit half nail polish and half filed off. At this point Yvonne comes out with my Mom, and I tell her I need you to fix my toes. She said yes of course. She sits me in the chair and uses her dremel to take off my nail polish. She tries to get me to commit to staying. I told her no, I am going elsewhere. She said Crystal they didn't know there was two people coming. I told her I gave y'all a chance when we first sat down. I said I could come back tomorrow and you said I'll do both of the mani's. She then explains her son has an ear infection and she doesn't know if she will be here tomorrow but I told the boss man I would come in for you. I told her no you take care of your son that's most important. I told you I am done here. I'm going somewhere else. She said but Crystal I already know how you like your nails and you'll have to find someone and start over. I told her yes I know. I started new with you in December. Difference between Yvonne and Thomas he was using an emery board nail file and she used the dremel. No pain and she got it off in a matter of 5 minutes. When I got my nails done at the end of May I had to go back 10 days later because the acrylic was cracking and splitting. Then 7 days later I went back to get both hands replaced with the old brand because the new brand wasn't working. And I didn't even get offered a discount. It's not even about the money it is about the incompetence and the pain of the injuries. read more

Came in with two little girls wanting nails done and so did I. Never got told a wait time and never offered a drink. 2 hours later, both kids finally done and I was skipped twice and then removed from waitlist without telling them to remove me. Plus charge $30 (total was $80 with other child) for my 6 year old to just get her nails painted with gel and wish I was told price before going forth! Been here a few times for nails to be applied and removed. Always busy when coming here and a wait of course which is understandable. I came often and ended up know by a few yet my nails never came out the way I wanted them to, it's like I was rushed on every time. However, two days later my eyebrows are seeded with acne. I wash my face regularly (using 99.2% natural ingredients--Burt's Bees) but I think that the product was slightly unsuitable for my skin. $12 with tip. That's almost two meals at Panda Express. I asked for a simple flower and she kept messing up and when she finally got the flowers looking decent, she put top coat over it in a hurry and it smeared the design ... I came here to try out their spa manicure, which included a massage, parafin, and a choice of exfoliants and lotions--I chose Milk and Honey. I also got Gelish Gel polish, which is nice, and the girl did a great job. The salon is beautiful. It was busy, and all of the patrons seemed to be having a great time--I do think that Spa Pedicures is a bit more relaxing, and you have more room between stations (and thus more privacy) at Spa Pedicures, but since Deluxe is a lot closer to my house, I'll probably alternate between the two places. If you live on the north side of Denton, give them a try! read more

I have been here 2 times now. At the advice of my friend I have made appointments with Jenny/Jennifer. Her work is amazing. I get a gel manicure with French tips and clear base. My first manicure from her lasted a month! I've never had a gel manicure last that long. I recommend you make an appointment with Jenny, you won't be disappointed! Lee did my pedicure on my first visit but she has since left the salon. She was great too. Do be aware that if you make an appointment for your first visit they will assume you've been there before and know the drill. On my first visit I almost left b/c they sat me in a pedicure chair, with no water or chair massage, for 20 minutes without any direction. I went in and showed a picture of the design I wanted and the nail tech, Mimi, said she could do them. After she cut me multiple times she started on the design. My nails were all different lengths and shapes and looked nothing like the picture. I called as soon as I left to make an appointment to get it fixed the next day and when I went back they wanted to charge me $25. After telling them I wasn't going to spend $75 on these awful nails they decided fix them free of charge. I decided to treat myself to getting my nails done for my 20th birthday. After much debate (price or quality, which was the more important aspect?) I decided to come to Deluxe Nails and Spa. I have previously gotten my nails done here and was pleased by the service, but it had been a while so I just wasn't sure. I walked in and was greeted by the girl working the front counter station. She gave me a short moment to look over the services before asking what I would like to have done. When I told her I wanted the basic NextGen (the powder dip) nails, she didn't try any pesky up-selling to a more expensive service, which I really appreciated. The salon offers free drinks (sodas, wines, and margaritas) and I had a Coke-a-cola in a little cup with a straw sitting next to me faster than I would get it in a restaurant, very impressive! They were fairly busy, so I sat at the station waiting for about 10 minutes. The atmosphere in the shop is odd... 4 muted televisions hanging on the walls (the ones diagonal from each other we're playing the same channels), and music from the late 90's-2017 playing over the speakers created the "ambience". It isn't too odd, just a bit different than most places. My nails themselves are really great! The guy who did them (his name tag wasn't readable or I'd share) took his time making sure each one was shaped nicely and uniformly. I went in with long-ish nails, so he just filed them down and shaped them a bit. The girl next to me needed longer nails, so the technician glued on tips and then cut/shaped those to the appropriate size. The only negative thing I have to say is that on a few of my nails, the treatment doesn't cover the entire nail the way it should. On my ring finger especially, there's a gap along the bottom and one side. It's not too bad, just a little bit annoying... Overall, this place is great, and if they last as well as they did last time, I look forward to returning in two months when these grow out to get them redone! read more

It seems this place is under new management. Using the word MANAGEMENT very lightly Used to drive all the way here. Not any more. Had a 3pm appt. for my mom and I to have a mani pedi. Mom is in her 80's and specifically asked that my nails be completed before moms in order for me to assist in putting her shoes on. Well. That wanted to start the pedi before mani and now they started mom's mani and telling me now "we don't have enough people to do a mani for you". What they FINALLY Came to put the water in for mom's pedicure she kept telling them it was too hot, too hot. The young man did not understand and was just smiling and nodding. NOT GOOD!!! Lady named Ivy I believe did a pedicure and she missed some spots in both of my heals. I went back a couple days later as clear dead skin was missed. Guy at front starts making excuses of why she missed both spots but that it was normal. I explained that I've never had an issue with this before with other establishment that have provided the same service . He finally tells me that they could fix it like they were doing me a favor.
