2 Thumbs Way down! The first time I visited pro nails on University in Denton, I didn't actually have a bad experience. The staff was very nice to me. Little did I know, it was only because I paid in cash and left a cash tip. To me, a great nail salon experience does not simply include a nice coat of polish. It is much more than that. It is the relationship you build with the ladies who do your nails and feeling comfortable and welcome to come back and have them done there again. Today as I was Having my nails done, there was a customer next to me who was being a bit picky and complicated. As I have worked in customer service, and still do, I understand how frustrating those types of customers can be. However, as employees or business owners, it is our job to treat the customer well both while they are in our care and when they leave. The lady who was working on this customer's nails, who I think is actually the manager, turned to me and the lady in front of her after the complicated customer had left and said "Man, she is so picky." I could not believe how tacky it was of this employee to talk to other customers about her previous customer. Later, as I was leaving pro nails after having a gel coat put on my nails, I explained to the ladies that unfortunately all I had in my purse was $20 cash. The price for a coat of gel nails without a manicure is exactly $20. I wanted however, to leave a tip to show my gratitude. When I asked if I could simply leave a tip with my debit card, the response was none too friendly. It began with the manager (I assume) looking at me and not even responding as she continued to work on the lady in front of her. I asked again, "is that alright?" And finally I got a curt response. "Yeah that's fine. Cash is better." "Okay," I said, a bit surprised at her ungratefulness to the fact that I was wanting to leave a tip in the first place. "I am sorry that's just all I have in cash right now. At least I am leaving one", I explained again...now feeling a bit humiliated. The manager grabbed my card out of my hand, swiped it quickly, handed it back to me and without even making eye contact, and said, "okay. You can go." I was astounded at her rudeness. I understand that some places have a charge put on their business whenever they run credit or debit cards. However, despite the reason that she was not happy that I use a debit card to leave the tip, it would seem to me that any business who wants their customers to return, would try to be a bit more careful about the way they treat them. One thing is for certain, although pro nails has great prices and has done a wonderful job on my nails both times I have been there, the fact that their employees are rude and disrespectful will forever keep me from entering back into their shop. read more
