The absolute worst pedicure I have ever seen in all of my years of getting pedicures. my sister went there on Thursday evening 5/11/23 and a man working there did a horrendous job. 65.00 for a chrome pedicure that absolutely not a chrome color let alone a decent pedicure. juat 65 dollars for a terrible job. Literally the worst experience going to this nail salon. I got a full set and everything was fine until it was time for my design. The nail tech was racist and rushed me to get my nails done. Claimed I was holding her up from other customers but I was also a paying customer. Once I acknowledge her rudeness she responds "I'm not rude but if you don't like it, you can leave" I have never been treated as such in a nail salon. I haven't got my nails done in a very long time so I thought I'd go with my mom for a girls day. The application is just awful. It's been a while since I got my nails yeah, but I know how they should be lol. They didn't trim my real nail down at all, just roughed the surface, which okay they weren't crazy long but she could've definitely trimmed some. Again the application is just terrible, half of my fingers, the tip isn't even touching my real nail. She was just rushing the whole time, she did my full set in the time my mom got a fill. The filing job is not good, they have divots and bumps. After filing the acrylic she didn't even have me wash my hands, just brushed them off very lightly. I still had powder on my fingers when I left. Highly disappointed and i won't even go back to get them fixed. Save the money go else where. read more

I called ahead to see if they had space for a walk in to get an acrylic fill, which they did, and when I got here the place was empty except for one employee, Moon. She was very polite and chatty with me. I picked a color and she got to work. Now, on my right hand, I had two nails that had lifted some so they were a bit discolored, I thought they'd get filed down and filled in, like it is any other time this happens. I would have even been ok with her saying it is better to get a new set instead of a refill. So things progress and chalk it up to maybe the pink base for the French color would cover it, but she used clear, so it is still very visible. While her work was quick and she was very friendly, I was rather upset to pay full price for it. She did get my nails squarer than most others, and the fill itself is nice, the French tips I got, right hand is pretty good, wish it was a bit lower to cover where my real nail meets the nail bed, left hand certain fingers there is barely a curve to the French tip. I just wish there was a little more care taken or whatnot. A couple had walked in shortly after she got started with me, for pedicures, and since she's the only one there, I feel like she was a little pressed for time to get me done so she could attend to them. I would consider coming back again if I was getting a fresh set instead of a fill. read more

Literally awful. I don't even get my nails done and the vibe here was embarrassingly awkward. The workers were really rude. They seriously lacked customer service and people skills. Not to mention they rudely kept taking calls while doing my nails. Made me super uncomfortable. They literally with no effort filled my nails awkwardly then buffed them terribly and then applied nail polish and that was the "gel manicure" no soaking; no cutting of cuticles, no cuticle work at all, nothing. And, they did the job no better then I could at home. Don't go here, seriously. Just polish painted over a bunch of nail dust. She did the nails in literally 10 minutes and completely rushed me out the door. I was trying to make small talk with her I was so nervous and she was very unpleasant. read more

Ok, so let me start off by saying that my experience was very different from the other two people that I went with, with the exception of the fact that they took two walk-ins as we came in for our appointments, and 2 of us waited for an hour while the third was taken care of right away. The women that took care of my friends did a fine job. However, if the man tries to touch you, run! I tried telling him from the beginning that the massage chair was broken, and he ignored me. This sounds pretty Karen at face value. However, because it was broken, the rollers were sitting directly in my spine. And any time I tried to sit in a way that wasn't painful, he'd tell me to sit differently. Finally, my friend told him that the chair was broken and he said it was ok, he'd look at it later. As he was cutting my nails, he pulled a whole chunk off that still hurts days later. He told me it was ok. No apology. Then he got up and walked away for 5 minutes. He came back, then left another 5. When he did the massage part of it, it maybe lasted a minute total, and was deeply unsatisfying. There was lots of grinding a stone into my tibia. The only parts that felt good lasted mere seconds. I don't know if I'm spoiled by the place in my old hometown, but it did seem like the two walk-ins and my two friends had a better massage period. The painting wasn't done well. I can see all of the edges of my toenails. And he was trying to get away with only one coat, but it was patchy and awful so I asked for a second. He responded with an exasperated "oooooh, ok." Both of my friends were done LONG before I was, even the one that started at the same time. I Was there at 1:50 for a 2:00 appointment, and wasn't done until 4:35. When I went to pay, he ran my credit card without a word. When I was handed the slip, there was no line for a tip. Being that I used to live on tips, I felt the need to give him *something*, so when I asked about putting a tip on my card, he said I couldn't, and one of the other workers started yelling and gesturing at me. I was so embarrassed, I didn't know what I did wrong. But to be honest, I was kind of glad that I didn't have the option to tip. I mentioned this to my friends outside, and they told me their people told them that you have to tell them *before* they run your card. Having never been there before, how was I to know? All in all, I spent $70 on a very terrible experience. I understand that others have had a very great experience with other technicians there, but I am so soured that i won't be back. I recently relocated to the Butler area from Southern California where we had nail shops on every corner, so there was more competition.... so, I tried several nail shops before landing at Essence. Sally does a fabulous job on my pedicures, including acrylic on my big toes. They have all lasted & looked great for at least 6-8 weeks. I recently took the plunge and had Sally do a gel manicure. No acrylics....just my regular short nails, and I am SO PLEASED with how pretty and "finished" my hands look! I will continue to go to Essence. The staff is FRIENDLY. Their spa chairs feel great. They have a great polish selection. They are open later than most shops, prices are competitive with other shops..... and SALLY ROCKS!!! read more

Excellent! Honestly, I am really rough with my hands but would still like my nails to look nice. Lynn always makes sure that happens and is the best at what she does. i went to essence a few months ago, & i debated on even rating this place bc if there was a no star option, it would have definitely been chosen. i went & i got powder, & looking over the powder options, i noticed that the powder was expired but i didn't think too much of it until i looked up what expired powder can do to your skin & nail itself. as it went on & the tech was finally finished after an hour & a half. i got into my car & noticed that the nails were lifting off of my actual nails. i was utterly upset that i had paid $60.00 already for some half ass, expired job. that i went home. if you plan on going to get your nails done, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! read more
