I can't say I was familiar with panuozzo before stopping into Crudo, but given our positive…read moreexperience there, you can consider me a convert. We decided to start with the Bruschetta ("Freshly Baked Bread Topped With Tomatoes"), and it's a solid appetizer. It's basically a very tasty dough covered in well-seasoned, fresh-tasting tomatoes. It's good. It in no way prepared me for the next-levelness of our main. We opted for the Mortadella Panuozzo ("Mortadella, Cream Of Pistachio, Stracciatella"). I took one bite and I was immediately blown away. All the flavors work so well together, and that super fresh panuozzo ties the sandwich together perfectly. Immediately after leaving the restaurant, my dining companion looked at me and asked if I was as bowled over as he was. We both agreed it was one of the best sandwiches we'd ever eaten. It's crazy. They know what they're doing at Crudo, that's for sure. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings (although let's be real, I'll probably get that Mortadella panuozzo every time I return.)

Mortadella is my all time fav, enormous amount of mortadella slices, stracciatella and pistachio butter. And my new finding is Dolce Salato! Perfect balance of salty and sweet from prosciutto, fig jam, and balsamic glaze! This is their main location and becuz if that, it's always busy during the weekend but still all the staffs were super friendly and prompt! The dining space got some upgrades compared to couple of yrs ago - more tables and chairs to accommodate more ppl. If you haven't tried this place, i highly recommend to try it out!

I'm honestly shocked I've never been to SanRemo before! There are so many things I already want to…read morego back and try--from the desserts, donuts, bakery items, and hot food to the drinks and, of course, the gelato. On this visit, I had the steak sandwich, mortadella sandwich, cold brew, and Nutella latte, and everything was delicious. The vanilla cupcake was especially good--super moist and not overly sweet. Parking is pretty limited, but if you arrive early enough, you can usually find street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood. Despite how busy it was, the service was incredibly quick. There seemed to be plenty of staff working together to keep orders moving efficiently. One bonus that I absolutely loved is that they carry Nutella and Orzo imported from Italy. It's nice knowing I don't have to fly to Italy every time I want to pick some up! Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

This was my first time trying San Remo Bakery, and I went with the prosciutto sandwich on focaccia…read moreand a small coffee crema. The prosciutto sandwich was okay, but unfortunately, it was really salty. I'm not sure if it was the particular cut of meat, but I've made prosciutto sandwiches at home that weren't nearly as salty. It was also missing a sauce or at least some cheese to cut the saltiness of it. Was very plain and just had meat and arugula. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly astounding about the sandwich for me. The coffee crema, on the other hand, was delicious! My only issue was the price. The small was a very tiny portion, comparable in size to a small iced coffee from Tim Hortons, and between the sandwich and coffee, I paid around $20. For what I got, I personally didn't feel it was worth the price. That being said, the desserts and pastries all looked really good, so I would go back to try some other things. Based on this first visit, though, I wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to visit specifically for the sandwich or coffee. The staff was very helpful and friendly, however, so 5/5 for that. It can be a little overwhelming with all the options and we went at lunch time so it was more chaotic (to no fault of their own of course!), but staff was incredibly nice and patient with us.

Jimmy Johns - Italian night club with added Jimmy peppers

Jimmy Johns

Finally! Jimmy Johns is in Ontario, and it's in my neighborhood, too sweet!…read more My first exposure to Jimmy Johns was when i got sent to Minneapolis St Paul (USA) and Jimmy Johns was across the street from my hotel. Came here on a super rainy day and was instantly annoyed with the layout of the restaurant in comparison to the parking lot, I feel like them retrofitting into this space, really didn't do them any favors, when I trekked through grass and mud to get to the door, I realized I parked on the wrong side of the building, even worse as you only have a walk way for one side? We finally got into the restaurant, and out of the rain and instantly the smell brought me back to both visits at MSP. a lot has changed in my diet where 80% of the menu I can't enjoy anymore. they also offer a toasted subs now, and I got one of the few items that wasn't available for this option, of course! Service was great, order was placed and we were in and out in ten minutes or so. The bread is absolutely killer, took me back to seven years ago, in MSP crazy good flavor and freshness for a throw back The parking lot is a huge negative for this spot, and warrants me not making this a five/five situation. being across from the mall, plus Home Depot/Wal-Mart and a bunch of smaller stores and restaurants in the mix, to get in and out of this section is nuts, and much like this super rainy night, not a lot of dedicated parking for Jimmy Johns Definitely an experience everyone should try, wish it was in the mall instead will be back!

Of course we know Firehouse subs is one of the elites but I always feel like doo doo after eating a Firehouse sub. None of that at a Jimmy Johns though! I felt great! Lol I ordered a 6 inch (Regular) Italian Night Club and added Jimmy peppers, which are essentially banana peppers but better. Such a great sub and all the flavours pop and work. The meat tastes like quality and they're not stingy (cough *subway* cough). I added some mustard on some of the bites and that made everything pop even more. Bread was nice and soft but not soggy. A great sub, all around. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable as well. Sorry Firehouse, I'm a Jimmy John's girl now!
