Chicken Kabob Dinner - with greek potatoes and roasted vegetables

I love Esperia! It is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. The greek salad dressing is insanely good. Their meal portions are a great size and the food is fresh and well-seasoned. 10/10 recommend

Spinach Pie Dinner

Been craving some greek food, so decided to check out this place in Brighton. When you first walk in, you can either order takeout or dine in. We decided to eat in. I ordered the Spinach Pie Dinner which came with two sides and a greek salad. The dressing on the salad is magical. I don't know what the secret ingredient is but it's soooooo good. They actually sell bottles of it behind the counter so I decided to buy one to bring home. I heard the lady at the table behind me say she wanted to buy a bottle too. It's that good. The spinach pie filling was good too, as was the rice and green beans. They also serve a bowl of warm pita bread before your meal. Tip: dip a little into your salad dressing...you'll thank me later My friend ordered the chicken gyro and she liked it too. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the overall vibes inside are good. They do have a private parking lot (shared with Dunkins) but it's super tiny and watching the cars come in and out of it was making me anxious. I suggest trying to find street parking. Will be back!

I was excited to try a new Greek restaurant because even though I cook some of the food, there are not too many restaurants that I actually like but this one I liked. They had lots on the menu, but I wanted the chicken gyro. It comes with a side salad with is a plus cuz it has the best dressing I ever tasted. The chicken gyro was cooked well and very tasty. It wasn't dry like some places. My daughter ordered the spinach pie with green beans and rice as the sides. That was a tasty dish as well. The restaurant is small but very pleasant. Lovely pictures of Greece, really cozy and warm when you are there. I enjoyed it, especially being cold day. You can get some things to go like deserts, the salad dressing, which is a big plus! We bought one. I would definitely come back and try something else. So happy I came.

The food is five stars every time! Whether you're sitting in or taking out it never misses. There is nothing better than this salad dressing! The gyro is consistently good as well. It's pretty no-frills on the inside and the parking lot barely fits three cars so be prepared to look on the street.

Chicken gyro

There are so many Mediterranean spots in the city that it's easy for them to blend together in my head, but Esperia Grill is a restaurant that stands out! I tried their chicken gyro on pita ($15.35) which came with a side of Greek salad. The gyro alone is slightly cheaper at $12.05. I highly recommend getting the Greek salad side because their salad dressing is herby, garlicky, and creamy! The gyro itself was super tasty. The chicken was flavorful and had a char to it without being dry. I loved how fluffy the pita was! The bread was chewy and soaked up all the juices from the chicken without falling apart. We also got their fries ($5.45) which had this crispy battered coating that added a lot of flavor.

I love this hidden gem of a restaurant! If you're looking for an authentic Greek restaurant with reasonable pricing, come here! Food: We got the Lamb Shank dish and Moussaka. The lamb fell off the bone beautifully, very tender and not dry at all! The sauce paired perfectly with the lamb. We got it with lemony potatoes and rice and I loved how strong the lemon flavor was on the potatoes! This was my first time having Moussaka and I loved it! The layers of cream, cheese, potato, eggplant, tomato, and beef all blended together in a beautiful harmony. Ambiance: This is a very casual, local spot. You can tell the owners are invested in the community which is so great to see! Every time I drive by this place during dinner time they are packed! Price: Prices are not bad at all. Each plate is about $20 each but comes with the entree and two sides. The Moussaka was $13 and so worth. Overall would go again (and I've gone again after my first experience already!) and everyone should check it out!

Chicken pita and fries

This is a cute, homey little grill with some pretty great tasting food. I ordered a chicken pita (and switched out the greek salad for some fries) which left me very full and satisfied. This isn't quite the best pita/gyro I've had before but it's still a pretty solid option. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, making it a great spot to dine-in!

#3 Chicken Gyro with side salad It's incredible!
Ryan M.

The chicken gyro at this place made me question what every other Greek place is doing wrong. It was incredible, so flavorful and so juicy! And the pita was done to perfection! So many other places make me walking away thinking that I hate Greek, but I'm realizing that other places are just bad. And the gyro comes with a side salad that is beautiful and has incredible dressing! I highly recommend and I'm defiantly going to be trying other things in the future!

That's already a steep price for a salad. I ordered a greek salad with chicken souvlaki. I didn't know kebab and souvlaki were that much different... so ok.... now my salad is $24. Oh. 25% more money.. I guess it's because they're about to put a massive amount of chicken on it because that must be the portion of souvlaki to justify the price? Nope. 5 tiny chunks of grilled chicken... about 1/3 of the kebab chicken it seems. Wow. I asked for some extra feta on my $24 salad. That's $2 more. I'm now having a $26 salad. I've noticed this in the past as well. They will find any way possible to upcharge you. I skipped a drink anticipating maybe a cup was $6 and the ice another $3. Lids for $2. Straw a bargain at $1.50. I will say this. At least for $26 I got a hefty amount of veggies. Not $26 worth but by comparison, when I order or do take out the containers are tiny. I swear it's a 1/3 of the size you get in the restaurant. I would be paying $26 for 1/3 of what I got. I like the quality of the food here but they're charging sit down prices for a counter service place. The staff seems really indifferent to just charging you whatever. You want extra tzatziki with your gyro? They sell $10 tubs. Don't dare ask for a side portion. You're in for that $10 tub. Now your $18 gyro is $28 but at least you got a container of tzatziki, more than you need for the gyro. I love the food but I feel like I need to negotiate every item I order and ask the price. Any deviation and you're looking at a 30% increase. You want those fries well done? That will be another $6. I'm no longer tipping at this place. For $26 salads, the staff better have Healthcare and be making 4 times the minimum wage.

A temperature of 13 degrees Celsius is already late autumn or even early winter for me as a Cantonese. After struggling through the biting wind and rain, the warm glow of the charcoal fire and the cozy decorations instantly warmed me, making a strong first impression. Moschari me Damaskina: The moment it entered my mouth, I couldn't help but exclaim "Wow!" Firstly, the tenderness of the beef cheek; the fibers almost melted at the very moment it touched my mouth, the fat and juices filling the space, making it incredibly easy to chew. Secondly, the dominant flavor was the tangy aroma; the fruity acidity of the prunes and red wine had a bright yet lingering fermented quality that immediately captivated my taste buds, leaving only the flavors of the beef itself and the spices. The tarhanas were sticky and chewy, with just the right amount of fermentation, complementing the beef perfectly. As a stew, it was rich and flavorful without being greasy--perfect for an autumn night! However, perhaps if the beef flavor had been a little deeper, it wouldn't have felt any overpowering. The waiter lifted the lid with a quiet cheer, and after I scooped out a portion, he gently closed the lid to keep it warm--a charming and thoughtful touch that added to the experience. Kontosouvli: A simple and straightforward roasted chicken, marinated with Greek yogurt. While not particularly surprising, the chicken was very tender and had a wonderful charcoal aroma--another excellent dish. The boneless chicken breast was even more satisfying than the drumsticks. The pickled onions had a slightly raw spiciness, making it less appealing than the one by Zaytinya at Washington DC. Samali: I touched the plate before eating; it was chilled, which added to my positive impression. The corn bread was standard, but the sweetness was slightly reduced to make way for the more prominent blueberry jam and grilled corn ice cream. The former was intensely sour, making it difficult to eat on its own. I personally think it would be better with a less acidic jam, such as orange, peach, or apricot. Despite having orange blossom syrup, it wasn't particularly outstanding. The latter, on the other hand, brought out the sweetness of the grains to the extreme, almost like eating an ice cream version of corn flakes, yet with a very light texture and melted exceptionally quickly--quite interesting. Looking back, this dessert might be more suitable for a July in New England, perhaps the best time of year, with bright but not scorching sunshine, a clear blue sky and sea, and even the wind barely perceptible. Blueberries and corn are just ripe, allowing you to quietly enjoy the land's most heartfelt gifts of the year. In the bleak autumn, perhaps the Galatopita with caramelized peaches and brown butter would be more seasonal, but seeing it on the menu made me think, why not let me just briefly return to that summer of yesterday's dreams?

A couple of friends and I were in the Coolidge Corner area and begged them to take us in for walk-ins - we'd be in and out within an hour. They kindly let us in and we started off with the saganaki, which was an ooey gooey cheese that was perfectly sweet, oily, and cheesy. This paired well with some of the bread we got with their whipped butter. Beef cheeks was the standout entree; insanely tender, melt in your mouth, and paired well with the couscous. Stifado was also delicious. The eggplant dish with a block of feta was also fun and yummy! Their cocktail game is also very fun - a couple of us got the Karpouzi 3.0 and we also got one "pump the briki" which was a fun take on an espresso martini. I can't wait for my next visit!

However being in…read morethe suburbs of Boston, it gave me the opportunity to try other cuisines, and I was excited to see this authentic Turkish restaurant not far from my hotel. Ironically, I found this place when I was looking up ice cream. They serve authentic Turkish ice cream, and it's been something I've been wanting to try. In addition to the ice cream, I ordered Manti (Turkish dumplings) and Uludag soda (which they say is a Turkish ginger ale). I loooooooooved the Manti. While the dumplings were filled with meat, the dish overall felt light since each dumpling is like the size of a quarter. The dumplings had a nice chew, and the sauces made the dish rich yet creamy. The Uludag soda was definitely much lighter than a ginger ale. Tasted like a light citrusy drink, and it's less sweet than American sodas. The ice cream had a nice pull and chew, although it didn't look as stretchy as Turkish ice creams I've seen. Nice amount of pistachio flavor throughout. I came on a weekday lunch, so there was ample seating inside. Ordering is done via a QR code on your table or on a tablet stand in the middle of the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, making it a great experience overall.
