We needed to bring a water line into the kitchen to support our new refrigerator for dispensing ice and water. Jordy came out and reviewed our situation. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the situation. We got 3 quotes and Erwyn's was the best bid for all the work required. They have great service and integrity. While we found a different solution, I highly recommend Erwyn's. I will definitely call them again for future projects. read more

Israel answered the phone on the first ring, and came within 90 minutes. He explained the problem and how he intended to address it. He wasn't able to return with the needed parts in time to complete the job on that Friday, so he came out Saturday morning to finish the work. He was able to carefully extract the old (VERY old!) shower valve through a smallish hole, and install the new gear, so we didn't have to re-tile any of the shower enclosure. My only quibble is that he wasn't very transparent about how much of his quote was for parts vs the labor, so it was not easy to consider upgrading from a Delta valve to a different make. Overall, I'll definitely call him again when I need a plumber. read more

A frustrating nightmare. Israel came by to inspect our bathtub that seems to have either a pipe leak or a drainage issue. We discovered this issue as we were replacing the caulking to our bath tub. We told him numerous times that we had just removed the caulking. During his "inspection" he started running the water from our shower head but then he proceeded to point the shower head straight on the crevice where there is no longer caulking and say "see this is the issue!" Now there is a ton of water behind our wall in even more places then we had originally. He's a terrible communicator, constantly was interrupting, and couldn't articulate any of his reasons for anything. He was just guessing at what the issues were and hoping we would agree to start opening things up so we'd have to pay him. We were better off not having him show up at all. read more

Having a trustworthy, reliable plumber is 1 of those things you hope you don't need but really appreciate when life happens. We have a problematic clogged kitchen sink where sewer water will come up rapidly in the sink and even though we have a homeowners association, they are worthless for anything. EP came the same day and cleared out the problem and gave us a 30 day guarantee (barring we're not just shoving food down the sinks to create this problem). After this was solved, the water pressure started acting up and we had virtually little to no water flow and again our HOA didn't do a thing for 2 weeks. We called on EP again after buying a new faucet and they installed it and solved the issue. We know who we'll be calling on again and again for our plumbing needs! read more

I had a good experience with Erwin's Plumbing. I called to get a second opinion on replacing my main sewer and Israel came out and gave me a free estimate the same day. The estimate was reasonable and much cheaper than other quotes I had gotten for the same work. He was easy to communicate with on text and email. They also came out and did the job in about a day. They had someone come out the day before just to start on the digging. They did the work independently and let me know when I couldn't use the sewer which was only for about an hour or so. They also cleaned everything up when they were finished Overall, I'm very pleased with their services and would recommend them. read more

Requested an inspection service due to smell of gas. Person was 30 min late + never provided quote for the inspection + then lied about my husband signing a form to finagle $400 from me. Even tried to ask for credit card information OVER THE PHONE. I paid the $350 but never again. Terrible, dishonest service. read more

I had to replace my sewer line for a property I recently purchased in El Cerrito. From the initial inquiry up until everything was finished, Israel maintained excellent communication. He sent me updates and pictures daily when I could not be present at the property. His team worked very fast and was able to complete the whole project in under two weeks. I highly recommend using this company for any plumbing needs. Thank you Israel ! read more

We pretty much have Israel on speed dial at this point. I reached out to him and he was fortunately able to come out the same day to look at a leak. He finished the job beautifully in less than 45 minutes. This is the third job he's been on at our house. He's done great work with our trenchless and sewer lateral under the house. Their pricing is very reasonable plus he goes above and beyond. I highly recommend them. read more

Had a leaky shower faucet that needed a cartridge replacement. Israel got the job done same day and at a reasonable price.

We had a couple of clogged sinks at our house and Erwyn's came out quickly and snaked a clog 75 feet into our pipes. They cleaned everything up nicely after the fix and charged an honest price ($275) for clearing both sinks and for their two man crew's hour of work. Another highly rated Yelp plumber had already come out and had been unable to snake the clog. They had told me that I need to replace my piping in my crawl space and that the job would have cost me $4,000. I'm glad I got a second opinion from Erwyn's. read more

Erwyn came to my house on to check a leak under my house it turned out to me my sewer pipe had ruptured he gave me different options!!! I couldn't use any water because of the draining water was staying under the crawl space of house He came the next day and fixed it so i can use it temporarily we end up replacing the entire sewer lateral he got emergency permits finished the job i will say 2-3 days super fast installed a clean out with a concrete sealer and everything works perfectly now i'm so pleased with his work and staff they were respectful reliable definitely a great experience i would recommend to friends and family he won't disappoint you A plus they clean anything they used took the old pipes and they clean after them selfs read more

Tony came to help us with our leaking toilet the same day we contacted Erwyn's Plumbing. He showed up on time and did a great job replacing the wax seal on our toilet which was completely gone. Cleaned up the old silicone seal around the toilet, too, and put on a new seal when he put the toilet back. I felt he was thorough and clean. We will be sure to contact Erwyn's for our future plumbing needs! read more

Israel came out for an emergency blocked line and was able to take care of it asap! Great work and a great price in the Bay.

The Erwyn's plumber arrived on time and took a look at our issues (a leak and a request to install a filter we bought). He quickly identified the source of the leak and offered to fix it, but gave me the option to do it myself (which I took) to avoid being charged. I appreciate that kind of transparency. He gave me a quote for the filter installation, but because the kit I purchased didn't have all the right parts, it was more than I expected. I said thanks, but no thanks. So, he came, gave me helpful information, and knew he wasn't going to get paid on this job. But he was still friendly all the way out the door. That says a lot. I'd definitely call Erwyn's again. read more

Received a phone call from my tenant. She was having issues with the shower draining. After several attempts to use, Drano decided to call Israel.. Israel was off today, but he sent his guy. This guy was able to be there in less than 40 minutes . The drain was snaked quickly, and the tenant was very happy with the work.. this is the second time I've used Israel and his team and moving forward. I will be using him for all my plumbing needs. Matter fact, I just pinned his contact number. read more

We had a broken copper water supply line from the curbside meter to the house. It was upheaved by a city tree root. After getting no help from the city, I called Israel at Erwyn's Plumbing. He sent Jordy out first thing the next morning who surveyed the job and gave me an estimate. He went to get parts, returned promptly and started work. Five hours later, the job was done as well as the cleanup. Great job by a great team. Thank you! read more

Israel was very responsive and their team was able to tend to our kitchen leak on the same day. Their initial rate was lower than others I had consulted with and there were no additional costs. We are having his team follow up on another plumbing issue and will share more about how it has been working with them. I did provide feedback that the receipt I received did not have any details on it other than the price and Israel stated he would issue a detailed document. read more

Good price. Very responsive. I went with another company though. Big mistake. Should have went with Erwin's.

Israel and I coordinated late on a Saturday and he gave me a quote that was very reasonable relative to the market. He said he'll be here at 9am next day and he arrived exactly when he said. Israel from Erwyn's plumbing was incredibly helpful with my sump pump issue. He arrived on time and was able to detect the what was wrong with it quickly. I really appreciated his professionalism and thoroughness during his time at my home. Israel installed a very important valve that prevented water filling up the sump pump well which would have totally flooded my basement had he not been there on time, due to this past weeks much needed rain. I will definitely be using them for for now on. Thanks Isreal! I highly recommend Erwyn's Plumbing! read more

Good and fast service. Would recommend. I recently bought a house and needed sewer lateral certification. Erwyn's Plumbing was on the list of recommended plumbing contractors that the county provided. After getting multiple bids from different contractors, I decided to go with Erwyn because not only was he responsive and reliable but he also gave me a fair quote and explained everything to me. He also replaced some plumbing work inside/under my house in addition to the external plumbing between my house and the street. About the process, He arrived at my house on time, checked out the project and gave me the quote. After I signed the contract, he started working on it the next day. The project took 1 and a half day, Erwyn and his team did everything well, cleaned up, and left the house and a week later he brought me the certificate. Timely, efficient, affordable. If I have other plumbing project in the future, I will contact Erwyn again. read more

I had tried for months to get the overflow drain unplugged from the bathtub. Erwyn was prompt, knowledgeable, and efficient. Honest contractors are hard to find. Israel responded quick and communicated well via text message. He and his team did quality work and was up-front with the condition of our sewer line. My Toto toilet was leaking and Israel replaced several parts, saying he had to go out and get the Toto flapper because he didn't have it with him. A few days later, I found the toilet was still leaking and called Erwyn's again. Somebody came out, looked the toilet over, and said I needed a new toilet. So I ordered one from Home Depot and called Val Betti Plumbing to install it. I should have called Val Betti in the first place. The guy from Val Betti told me that a non-Toto flapper had been installed. When he installed the correct one, I no longer needed a new toilet. He said, "These Toto toilets are great, I wondered why you were replacing it." Luckily Home Depot had a no cost return policy. read more

I highly recommend you stay away form this company. It is owned by a guy with the name Israel who is not a licensed plumber himself. It seems he is renting the plumbing license of a guy with the name James. California State Licensing Board allows a licensed contractor to use his/her license for several companies. So, some licensed contractors take advantage of this loophole and "Rent" their license to others under the pretense that they have some ownership in that company, e.g. 10%. State of California should close this troubling loophole. Anyway, this guy pretends he knows how his instruments work. We had a clogged sewer line. After some playing with his instruments, he declared with 100% confidence that the sewer pipe is disconnected about 4 feet under the concrete slab next to the outside wall. He even marked the concrete slab with paint, marking what he claimed was the exact location of the problem area. I have a photo of it. His worker removed a concrete slab and dug down to 6 feet, but there was no sewer line. He then played with his instruments and this time he said the problem area was under another slab in another location which happened to be where the cleanout pipe was coming from. After digging 4 feet, this time the pipes showed up, and he had his worker cut off the pipes. There was no sign of any disconnected pipes. He then said that clog could not be opened and that he had to get paid $2,000. He then wanted to abandon the pipes under the ground and instead reroute the pipes through another area at the cost of another few thousand dollars. At that point, I asked him not to touch anything. I called another plumbing company who managed to remove some roots from the clogged pipe using their snake, in about five minutes. Testing by water showed that the pipe was doing fine. This other plumber charged me $443. I then had Israel come and reconnect the pipes that he had removed and pour the soil in and redo the concrete. They did a terrible job redoing the concrete. In conclusion, this company cost me $2,000 and damage to the property with no use. I repeat my recommendation: Stay away from this company. read more

A+++ I highly recommend this company's efficiency. Israel came over to clear our clogged main sewer line, after clearing the clog Israel still ran the drain snake all the way to the street pipe to make sure that there is no more blockage. That's not the end of it, he also ran a camera down the pipe to explore more to see what is causing the blockage, the camera and his other high tech tools gave us a precise and more conservative way to fix the problem. I am honestly satisfied and impress with the service. I'm looking forward to do more business with them! PS Israel explained the process of clearing the clog clearly and he also offered the most affordable rate compare to the others that I got a quote from. Cheers to you Israel! read more
