I am on a yearly maintenance plan whereby they bring their telescoping camera and electric rooter. to first view, then, clean out the roots entering the clay pipe sewer line. Jorge and Efrain are amazing! They recently repaired my shower valves which were difficult to remove because they were bracketed in behind the tile wall. They carefully chipped the tile around the valve openings and were able to move the brackets just enough to insert the socket and remove the valves and replace the washers and o-rings in about 1 hour! They are super knowledgeable, friendly, and have a ton of experience! They said they had never seen valves that were configured like mine. they responded within 45 minutes with a technician to my door. The technician came in and fixed the problem, a clogged toilet, within another 15 minutes. He looked at the other components and told me what needs to be done in the future so I had an idea on what to expect. wow. just wow. we got hosed by a fly-by-night company who wouldn't honor a warranty after 2 weeks after they "rooted" our mainline which clogged AGAIN and we were gone 10 days of those 2 weeks. so, we knew of Alfa through a business connection so we called Jorge and Ephraim. turns out, fly-by-night company used a small blade through our mainline, leaving a bunch of roots behind. Alfa not only ran the proper sized blade all the way to the street, but they brought out a camera and gave us a tour of our mainline to confirm that the de-root was successful. the camera was an upcharge, but very much worth the extra. we are confident that we'll be alright for awhile on our 85yo mainline, but someday it'll need to be replaced. guess who we'll call? read more

We have used Alfa Plumbing once a few years ago for a major piping project. So last week, when we found a leak from our hot water tank, we immediately called Jorge. Although he was busy with a few projects, he still made time to come check on the leak right away. Our tank needed to be replaced so Jorge very quickly called his supplier and gave us an estimate that night itself. His estimate was reasonable and fair (we also had other competitive quotes). We decided to go with Alfa even though other plumbers had offered us extra warranties because we liked his work from the first project. It was a Friday when we confirmed, he and his team were at our place first thing on Monday morning with a new tank! We're so glad we made the decision to hire Jorge again as he provided us with timely, neat, high quality and impeccable service and workmanship. Just looking at the new tank, new pipes and the entire installation, tells us that he took great pride to ensure the installation was done meticulously and with utmost care. On top of that, it appears that we needed an expansion tank to regulate the water pressure and protect the new tank. We had a garbage disposal jammed with rice. We called Alfa, and Jorge promised that Efrain would come the next morning. He came, he looked, and he quoted three prices: to replace the troubled leaky pipe under the disposal, to do that and snake the pipe, and to replace the garbage disposal entire. I was grateful for his "This is what it may cost" clarity. Then Efrain removed the old pipes, replaced them, cleared the garbage disposal and reset it. He tested the work - snaking the pipe did not seem necessary. The garbage disposal was working again. He had delivered us a working kitchen for the lowest price quoted. Backed up kitchen drain caused the laundry trap to spew icky gunk (yes, that is the technical term ;-) ). Called, then texted, Alfa Plumbing and someone texted back immediately. Jorge is great. He was very responsive, came with everything he needed for the job, and was in and out in under an hour. He came in a mask, and covered his feet with shoe covers. He was respectful of all of the Covid 19 stuff. My sink is working great. I had a back up, and he was able to come in a very short time. He fit me into his schedule, and was very kind. We had a great experience with Alfa plumbing. We had some banging in our pipes when the shower was on. Another plumber came by and wanted $1k to strap the pipes and check the water pressure. Alfa came by and told me that the problem was with the shower cartridge. I ordered a new one from Amazon for $40 and Jorge was generous enough not to charge for the estimate. I can't give Alfa high enough appreciation and compliments for the quality of their work; and, most importantly, their responsiveness and service. Our kitchen sink hose under the sink burst and water sprayed everywhere. I turned off the water main and first thing in the morning I called Alfa Plumbing. They came out first thing this morning and within the hour fixed the plumbing (rusted out pipes), installed new hoses and cleaned out the debris in pipes. I had wanted a dual flush and he explained that parts are specialized for those models and can be hard to get, which is really inconvenient in an emergency. I used a local community board to get recommendations for someone to fix my leaking toilet, and wrote down several names in no particular order of preference. After calling one business whose recorded message stated that they would try to get back to me in a couple of days (still have not heard from them), I called Jorge. He got back to me promptly, and gave me a date and time range from 12-2. To my utter surprise and delight, he called on the scheduled day to say they would be there around 1:15 and that Ivan would do a preliminary assessment. Ivan was right on time, and was very thorough about ensuring where the leak was coming from so that I would not waste money. With a house full of people on a Sunday night, on a holiday weekend, the shower in my 1-Bath house suddenly stopped draining and, filled up the tub. Jorge from Alfa has been great. We've called Alfa twice to deal with bathroom sink backups that have bothered us here at my duplex home. As the sinks, back to back on the adjoining wall, are connected a bit more than they might be otherwise, this stuff can be complicated, but Jorge took care of it quickly and reasonably. On the latest call, I had tried Green Gobbler (an ethoxylated alcohol drain de-clogger) on the clogs, seemingly to no effect. For about 36 hours, there was no perceptible drainage, and smelly, brackish fluid had filled my sink until I bailed and sponged it out of the basin. It was another 36 hours or so 'til he could come by, and in that time, unknown to me, the de-clogger had done it's job, and in not checking otherwise, I had brought him out for nothing. I'm sure that can be frustrating to any contracting professional, but Jorge was very gracious about it. I now know to give a de-clogger like that much more time to work than directed, and to check for progress before I call Jorge again. I highly recommend Alfa Plumbing. read more
