Alfa plumbing deserves 5 stars. A small, well-established company based in Albay. Jorge, Erin, Efrine, and Kimberly are professional, friendly, and thorough. I am on a yearly maintenance plan whereby they bring their telescoping camera and electric rooter. to first view, then, clean out the roots entering the clay pipe sewer line. The camera is really cool, as there is no guesswork involved re the what and the where. Btw, my friend who an excellent plumber referred Alfa for jobs that he cannot do. Go Alfa. read more

Jorge and Efrain were fast to respond to my online request and set up a flexible time to come by. We exchanged a couple of emails and photos. They promptly arrived as scheduled. I really appreciated them putting on shoe covers! They were very knowledgeable and spent a good bit of time inspecting the problem and talking through the options. They gave me great advice, and in the end I decided that I would defer the work until I find new units. No charge for the visit. Friendly, great sense of humor. I will definitely call on them when I am ready to move forward. read more

Jorge and Efrain are amazing! They recently repaired my shower valves which were difficult to remove because they were bracketed in behind the tile wall. They carefully chipped the tile around the valve openings and were able to move the brackets just enough to insert the socket and remove the valves and replace the washers and o-rings in about 1 hour! They are super knowledgeable, friendly, and have a ton of experience! They said they had never seen valves that were configured like mine. Going forward the valves will be able to be serviced very easily. Thank you Jorge and Efrain! - Christopher Carter read more

We experienced a problem with the lav sink drain piping and had no sink for hand-washing. Alfa arrived very quickly and Efrain handled the job quickly and cleanly. I was back in business! I do not to hesitate to recommend Alfa Plumbing! read more

they responded within 45 minutes with a technician to my door. The technician came in and fixed the problem, a clogged toilet, within another 15 minutes. He looked at the other components and told me what needs to be done in the future so I had an idea on what to expect. It was a little expensive, 170.00 USD however for this type of service, it was well worth it. Absolutely would hire them again. read more

wow. just wow. we got hosed by a fly-by-night company who wouldn't honor a warranty after 2 weeks after they "rooted" our mainline which clogged AGAIN and we were gone 10 days of those 2 weeks. so, we knew of Alfa through a business connection so we called Jorge and Ephraim. turns out, fly-by-night company used a small blade through our mainline, leaving a bunch of roots behind. Alfa not only ran the proper sized blade all the way to the street, but they brought out a camera and gave us a tour of our mainline to confirm that the de-root was successful. the camera was an upcharge, but very much worth the extra. we are confident that we'll be alright for awhile on our 85yo mainline, but someday it'll need to be replaced. guess who we'll call? read more

We have used Alfa Plumbing once a few years ago for a major piping project. So last week, when we found a leak from our hot water tank, we immediately called Jorge. Although he was busy with a few projects, he still made time to come check on the leak right away. Our tank needed to be replaced so Jorge very quickly called his supplier and gave us an estimate that night itself. His estimate was reasonable and fair (we also had other competitive quotes). We decided to go with Alfa even though other plumbers had offered us extra warranties because we liked his work from the first project. It was a Friday when we confirmed, he and his team were at our place first thing on Monday morning with a new tank! We're so glad we made the decision to hire Jorge again as he provided us with timely, neat, high quality and impeccable service and workmanship. Just looking at the new tank, new pipes and the entire installation, tells us that he took great pride to ensure the installation was done meticulously and with utmost care. On top of that, it appears that we needed an expansion tank to regulate the water pressure and protect the new tank. Jorge just took care of it Most importantly, everything was working well after the tank switch! If we ever have plumbing needs again, Alfa will be on speed dial! read more

We had a garbage disposal jammed with rice. We called Alfa, and Jorge promised that Efrain would come the next morning. He came, he looked, and he quoted three prices: to replace the troubled leaky pipe under the disposal, to do that and snake the pipe, and to replace the garbage disposal entire. I was grateful for his "This is what it may cost" clarity. Then Efrain removed the old pipes, replaced them, cleared the garbage disposal and reset it. He tested the work - snaking the pipe did not seem necessary. The garbage disposal was working again. He had delivered us a working kitchen for the lowest price quoted. And he was pleasant to be around. I would recommend these folks any time. read more

Alfa Plumbing did a great job fixing a leak from my upstairs shower that was coming through my downstairs ceiling. Their quote was significantly less than that of of another plumber. I felt like I was dealing with a very honorable, responsive, and professional company. They even gave me advice on installing on my own new faucets I bought. I highly recommend Alfa Plumbing. read more

Backed up kitchen drain caused the laundry trap to spew icky gunk (yes, that is the technical term ;-) ). Called, then texted, Alfa Plumbing and someone texted back immediately. Half an hour later I was told someone could come over. Yay! Efrain arrived quickly, loved our huge friendly dog, then got to work assessing and snaking. Turned out to be multiple huge, disgusting clogs. He solved the problem and gave us recommendations for what to do going forward to avoid this issue. Great guy. I highly recommend Alfa Plumbing and Efrain! read more

Exceedingly honest and transparent. No gimmicks to extract money. I have every intention of rewarding this plumber with return business.

Our kitchen faucet started leaking a 2nd time in 3 months. We decided to call Alfa Plumbing rather than our regular plumber who had had difficult replacing the cartridge. Sal from Alfa Plumbing came out immediately, carefully studied the instructions, then put in a new cartridge, taking his time and making sure every step was done correctly. Our faucet is finally fixed! We were very happy with Sal's work and will certainly call Alfa Plumbing again. read more

I had a water heater issue and Alfa plumbing was able to come out within a few hours of me contacting them! My 2010 water heater had a few different issues and Alfa was able to resolve each one. I was happy they didn't push me to buy a new water heater and, instead, took the time to resolve the various issues. Thanks Alfa! read more

The water heater was acting up. Alfa Plumbing responded quickly with a technician who really knew his stuff. The problem was analyzed and quotes were provided for fixing versus replacement then research could be done for fixing versus replacing. Thought the old water heater had been here more than 20 years and learned they should be replaced every 8-10 years. read more

Jorge is the ONLY plumber I will use. We've called him several times to fix leaks on our 100 year old house as well as install an automatic shutoff valve on our gas meter. Jorge is honest, which is the most important thing you want from someone working on your house. He's given us great advice about installing equipment in our house and I trust him 100%. His prices are very reasonable and he's just an all around nice guy. I'm so glad I met Jorge. Best plumber ever! read more

Jorge is great. He was very responsive, came with everything he needed for the job, and was in and out in under an hour. He came in a mask, and covered his feet with shoe covers. He was respectful of all of the Covid 19 stuff. My sink is working great. I had a back up, and he was able to come in a very short time. He fit me into his schedule, and was very kind. Today I asked him to come and check out a running toilet. He looked at it, diagnosed the problem ( a chain blocking the seal) and didn't charge me a thing. I will definitely be calling him the next time we need a plumber. read more

We had a great experience with Alfa plumbing. We had some banging in our pipes when the shower was on. Another plumber came by and wanted $1k to strap the pipes and check the water pressure. Alfa came by and told me that the problem was with the shower cartridge. I ordered a new one from Amazon for $40 and Jorge was generous enough not to charge for the estimate. Glad to save lots of money to solve a problem and I hope to use Alfa in the future! read more

I can't give Alfa high enough appreciation and compliments for the quality of their work; and, most importantly, their responsiveness and service. I have owned many homes over the years in different parts of the country and have never experienced this level of responsiveness and service combined with quality. Alfa has done many planned and emergency projects for us. Most recently we had a leaking kitchen faucet which was super hard to diagnose and ultimately required a new faucet from the manufacturer. Alfa responded immediately to visit and try to solve the problem combined with giving us instant advice by texting on what we needed from the manufacturer. Alfa just keeps vastly exceeding what I thought was possible with a plumbing team every time I work with them. read more

Alfa plumbing does GREAT plumbing work, we are so happy with Jorge and his team. Jorge communicates and reply my message in a very efficient way. His team members who came to our house to conduct the work are very kind and knows what they are doing. They fixed our bathroom leaking problem super quickly, and cleaned up after work very well. They even fixed our water temperature problem in 30 minutes. We are so impressive. The price is also very reasonable. We are so happy with our experience that we have recommended Jorge and his team to our close friends and family members. read more

Our kitchen sink hose under the sink burst and water sprayed everywhere. I turned off the water main and first thing in the morning I called Alfa Plumbing. They came out first thing this morning and within the hour fixed the plumbing (rusted out pipes), installed new hoses and cleaned out the debris in pipes. This is the 2nd time I've used Alfa Plumbing. They respond immediately and fixed the problem right then and there. Not only that, but the 2nd hose was on its way to bursting so they replaced that as well. I'll never use another plumber as long Alfa Plumbing is available. Responsive, rapid service and reasonably priced. Thank you read more

We had a leaky toilet that needed fixing. I texted Jorge and 30 min later, Aaron was over fixing the problem. He was very clear about all my options and costs. He mad it very easy on my end to make a decision. All done within 2-3 hours of first reaching out. Amazing! read more

Jorge replaced a toilet for us. He was so responsive and helped educate us on what toilet to get. I had wanted a dual flush and he explained that parts are specialized for those models and can be hard to get, which is really inconvenient in an emergency. We are ready to have him replace our other toilet now too. read more

Alfa Plumbing came by to check out a faucet that was making weird noises and a toilet that had resistance to flushing. Scheduling a time with Jorge was active and considerate, which I appreciate in contractors. He took a look at our issues and was able to give us a few different options on how to address the problem. He also listened to what option I preferred and gave suggestions on how to approach the problem. I will definitely be calling Alfa Plumbing back for any future work I need done. read more

Jorge is sooo nice, honest, and helpful. He responds very quickly even after hours. It's clear his primary motivation is to help. For example, I heard a significant leak after 6 pm. He called back almost immediately and walked me through several scenarios until we isolated and stopped the leak. It's outside and he mentioned I can probably fix it myself or ask a gardener to help. He basically helped me after hours for free! I've worked with many plumbers of the years with old houses in Berkeley. Jorge is clearly the best! read more

Thank goodness ofr Jorge and Alfa Plumbing. I used a local community board to get recommendations for someone to fix my leaking toilet, and wrote down several names in no particular order of preference. After calling one business whose recorded message stated that they would try to get back to me in a couple of days (still have not heard from them), I called Jorge. He got back to me promptly, and gave me a date and time range from 12-2. To my utter surprise and delight, he called on the scheduled day to say they would be there around 1:15 and that Ivan would do a preliminary assessment. Ivan was right on time, and was very thorough about ensuring where the leak was coming from so that I would not waste money. Jorge and his crew, worked efficiently and were respectful of keeping my bathroom clean (removing a toilet is a messy job). I could not be happier with how this job was handled from start to finish. If you are looking for a company with expertise at a reasonable price, Alfa Plumbing should be your choice. Jorge and his crew were respectful of my time and property. Love these guys! read more

With a house full of people on a Sunday night, on a holiday weekend, the shower in my 1-Bath house suddenly stopped draining and, filled up the tub. All the obvious things weren't working, when I reached out to Jorge. He helped troubleshoot via text, offered tips and suggestions based on the info I shared with him -- and, he led us to SUCCESS, getting around the problem in a way we NEVER would have tried!! (snaking from the roof vent!!) I'm truly overjoyed that all our messy tinkering in the end was fruitful -- but, only because of the generosity and care Jorge extended!! Just WOW, that he was willing to help us avoid an emergency house call to clear the drain and, share his time and expertise without charge. I'm genuinely touched by his caring availability. I'm DEFINITELY keeping him in mind for any other jobs down the road! read more

Jorge from Alfa has been great. We've called Alfa twice to deal with bathroom sink backups that have bothered us here at my duplex home. As the sinks, back to back on the adjoining wall, are connected a bit more than they might be otherwise, this stuff can be complicated, but Jorge took care of it quickly and reasonably. On the latest call, I had tried Green Gobbler (an ethoxylated alcohol drain de-clogger) on the clogs, seemingly to no effect. For about 36 hours, there was no perceptible drainage, and smelly, brackish fluid had filled my sink until I bailed and sponged it out of the basin. It was another 36 hours or so 'til he could come by, and in that time, unknown to me, the de-clogger had done it's job, and in not checking otherwise, I had brought him out for nothing. I'm sure that can be frustrating to any contracting professional, but Jorge was very gracious about it. I now know to give a de-clogger like that much more time to work than directed, and to check for progress before I call Jorge again. I highly recommend Alfa Plumbing. read more
