Tony and his team did a solid job replacing my broken faucet. I found water under my sink on a Saturday afternoon, and asked several plumbers to stop by over the weekend. Unfortunately, no one was available to stop by in person. However, Tony was the only one who offered to have me walk him thru the issue by phone. I didn't take him up on his offer, but I appreciated his sincere desire to help. I was able to shut off the hot water supply so that the water flow would stop. Tony and his team arrived early on Monday morning at 8am, looked under the sink and then clearly described my options and gave me quotes before they started the job. He also provided recommendations without any high pressure tactics about upgrading the shut off valves under sink (to quarter turn shut off valves) given that he and his team were already here. I'd now actually demote them another star, to a two-star. While Ivan was here (at between $400 and $600/hour), he looked at the toilet, which had some odd stains that seemed to be coming from the tank. He told me that the parts in the tank had to be replaced, which would cost $375, and said I should act quickly because it could fail and be completely unusable any time now. Wondering about the $800 charge to replace the disposal, I went online to check the Home Depot cost of the disposal (between $200 and $400; probably $200, but I can't be sure as Ivan hustled the packaging out the door ASAP), and realized I'd been grossly and shamelessly overcharged. So I phoned Mauro's Plumbing to come re-check the toilet. Jose and Anthony came out today, checked carefully, and told me there was no problem at all; and they refused to let me pay them a penny for their visit. What a contrast! Catastrophe struck my home a few weeks ago when the second (and my personal) toilet began to leak in my household (full of boys). The series of unfortunate events that followed were disastrous as we were all forced to share one toilet. It took a few days (which felt more like weeks) and a whole can of flex seal for me to finally admit defeat and call in the professionals. Ivan showed up expeditiously. We have used Tony and his Bay Plumbing team on two major remodeling projects and a separate tankless water heater and sump pump installation for my home in Alameda. All of these projects were delivered to perfection. We had an emergency sewer issue in our new home and, once again, Tony delivered. Although the home had a major remodel in 2000, apparently they didn't "Remodel" the sewer system. Let's just say the "Blockage" created a terrible situation which, as you can imagine, caused great angst! The old clean-out access was inaccessible and had to be replaced. They were connecting to old steel pipes from the water main and warned us that the old pipes might crumble and it could turn into a larger job at higher cost. They deftly connected the new pipes to the old, and expertly integrated the new valve to our existing plumbing and sprinkler system. Clogged sink, toilet and water coming up the shower drain as I'm trying to cook dinner - what a nightmare! After calling 12+ plumbing companies with no availability or just an answering machine, I was so relieved that Tony not only picked up the phone, but had a conversation about what was going on and when he was available (8am the next day). So many other companies that I called simply answered the phone to tell me they were unavailable. What struck me most was his professional manner: calm, helpful and friendly without being pushy or demanding. He explained possible causes and patiently answered my questions about if it was okay to use our bathrooms and faucets by explaining what he thought the issue might be and why it might be risky to use them. He reconfirmed our appointment via text later in the evening and also texted me in the morning as he was heading over (arriving within the time frame he promised the night before.) Tony arrived with his assistant and immediately put on shoe covers before entering our home. As a neat freak and a family that doesn't wear shoes indoors, I appreciated this. He was also careful to take on/off his shoe covers whenever he entered our home - he wasn't just wearing them for show. After asking some questions and taking a look at our drains, he explained what he thought the problem might be and how he would tackle fixing it. His pricing was fair and included a warranty. He ended up having to use the mechanical snake from more than one area on our property to reach the clog and didn't raise the price for the extra effort involved. Tony is excellent. During the Coronavirus Shelter in Place he was quick to respond. A bunch of us in our neighborhood decided it was time to get our Earthquake gas shutoff valves installed for a number of houses. Tony was helpful with all of us neighbors, dealing with each of us individually for the work and payment, etc. Good communication and collaboration. He and his helper wore masks and kept social distancing. His pricing was fair and he explained it clearly. He treated each house and owner individually, explaining possible issues that might come up (e.g. an old furnace problem, a meter that was under the house--might be better to get it moved out from under first, etc). Tony at Bay Plumbing is just amazing! My garbage disposal had not been working for a month and as you can imagine things were already starting to smell, lol. I had asked a couple of friends with a bit of plumbing knowledge to take a look. They tried to reset the disposal machine with no avail. They just didn't know what was wrong with the machine. After a while, I decided that I had no choice but to call an expert. That's where Tony comes into the picture. He came and take a look at our disposal unit and after 20 minutes he figured out the problem. There was a tiny spoon blocking the machine. He proceeded to take it out and Voila! I am so glad I came across Tony and Alan. I had an emergency repair on Friday 4/21. I called a local company that I dealt with in the past to fix my heater. They send me someone who broke the cartridge while force pulling it, then asked me for $2175 to cut off the tile and replace my whole shower system. My complaint to them fell on deaf ears (see my previous review the same date). So I started calling around. When I called Bay plumbing the recording said to send a text for faster response. I left a VM anyway, then texted the number with a picture of the issue. He replied to my text right away offering a free estimate within the next 2 hours. We had a sump pump go down during the last rain and it caused major flooding in our basement. I called and he came out the next morning. He installed a new pump right away.
