We purchased a 90+ year old home in Oakland back in June. One of the most urgent things we needed to get done was to get our sump pump replaced. As simple as it may sound, to our surprise, it took us MONTHS to find someone that offered an expert solution at a reasonable price. What do I mean by expert solution? With city codes of not mixing rain water with drain water, proper drainage, etc. different plumbers offered different solutions (over 10-15 different solutions), which was beyond overwhelming as first-time homeowners. My slow draining bathtub finally refused to drain after a few previously successful vinegar/baking soda/plunger solutions. I called my regular plumber in the morning and he wasn't available so I did a Yelp search and came across Gasca plumbing and Andres' listing. I gave him a call and it turns out he was finishing a job in the area. Andres came over promptly and had good communications along the way. Unfortunately the snake was not able to clear the pipe. The drain pipe in my 80+ year old home had finally corroded to the point where it couldn't be snaked. Andres told me the issue was likely due to a corroded p trap and t line under the tub. He asked if I was willing to open up the ceiling downstairs to access the area and resolve it. I had enough experience with the problem to have enough faith that this could be likely so we proceeded. He opened up the ceiling and took out the p trap and showed me the corrosion/blockage. To put everything back together would require an extra set of hands so he had his other plumber come join to finish the job. While he was at it, he also replaced the antiquated drain plug in the tub and I also had him replace the tub water taps as the hot water knob had a slow leak. All in all Andres did a great job. He and his partner did not waste any time. My wife and I were working from home and could see they too great care of the work areas and were very respectful of our home. In summary they were: - able to fit us in on short notice - very responsive and responsible in their communications with us - efficient with their time - demonstrated their expertise by troubleshooting the issue correctly and fixing it the same day - respectful of our home and cleaned up the job site after completion very well - accurate and reasonable with the cost for repair Thank you Andres/Gasca plumbing! read more

The sinks were unclogged quickly and he managed to fix my shower without need of the costly replacement parts I had initially worried about by fixing my showers cartridge directly. I would not use Gasca plumbing. He refused to come out himself after the first time he sent a guy with a really bad attitude. The guy told me that usually plumbers don't fix garbage disposals. I then told him we had a smell coming from the bathroom and he said it must have been the previous owners dog and to buy some clorox. I called again about the smell, told him I wanted him to come out. He sent the same guy, the guy then blames us for the smell saying we don't clean the toilet (I can assure that's not the case) especially since the smell is coming from the walls. He then tells us that the first step is to replace the seal. Does that and leaves. We are out 400 bucks because of Gasca plumbing and their lazy team of plumbers if you can call them that. read more
