I have to admit that I have been very pleased with their customer service over the phone and with their installers. I used to have another alarm company and their service was slow and didn't have good customer service. Switched over to ERS alarm because friends and family had recommended this company, I had it installed in my home for years now, i'm quite sad they do not get much good reviews since only people who post on here only posts when they are angry. Overall, I had a great experience with this company. They have great service, and great service technicians. The appointment times were depending on how many people they had requesting service, which is understandable, the technicians were really nice and respectful, they even wore their little shoe covers when entering. Tips are do read the contract. It does say you have to pay for service and material (which was obvious and fine) also to cancel account, you need to send a 90 day letter prior, and they pulled out all my equipment I had installed, they came to take everything and patched up all the holes. I've read the contract through and through and found those terms agreeable before signing. Overall the company does a really good job, just need to read the terms and adhere to their policy since the contract was signed. Gave them four stars because my one complaint is due to the wait time they had, I guess they were backed up that month, but i'm still a fan. Unfortunately, I have moved out and they do not service my location, but I would definitely recommend this company to other friends and family. read more

Just had a burglary day before yesterday at 11 pm and the alarm didn't go off till 4 am next morning when the police went in which was reported by next door employee. Everyone is so happy to cancel. This company is complete crap and I've never even been their customer! I bought a house in Rosemead and the previous owner was using ERS. I said I didn't want it. I didn't think any more about it. The next day ERS showed up while I wasn't there and they literally ripped their equipment off my walls; leaving huge holes in my drywall. Terrible! My business has been with the company for 6 years, but in order for you to cancel 1) YOU MUST CANCEL 90 DAYS PRIOR TO CONTRACT TERMINATION & 2) YOUR CONTRACT AUTO RENEWS EVERY 2 YEARS (Note even ADT auto renews). BEWARE!!!! READ THE CONTRACT!!! I regret our manager didn't read it carefully 6 years ago. Oh well, I rather pay a 90 days cancellation penalty than give any future business to ERS. read more

I am finally done with ERS. Took me 90 days to cancel my service and have to return the whole alarm system including old windows/doors sensors and old motion sensor, So not sure what they would do with those old parts, let's hope they don't reuse them. As a update to my original issue, they WILL CHARGE you $120 to come out to fix THEIR equipment. I have ADT now and their service is 100 times better than ERS. read more

This company is very dishonest. We installed the system back on 2011 and had their monitoring service for 5 years. The sale person told us we did not need to return the old equipment. We removed the old units and throw them away. Now they sent us notice that they want the old system back. This is totally BS. When we called them, they denied it. I wish I can give these jerks zero stars. Be-careful of their auto contract renew. I sign a contract with them for 2 years. I call about 4 month prior to my contract expire to cancel the auto renew (yes 4 month. This company require you to cancel 90 prior to the contract end). Their rep told me just fax it in and it all done. 5 month later I call to cancel my service. They told me my contract was auto renew because they did not receive my phone call or fax. Like most of the reviewers, I cannot recommend ERS. In the beginning, I actually didn't have any problems with them. However in the last year and a half that I was with them, one of my alarm panels was having problems with the display and voice. I asked ERS about a replacement, but the technician said it was an older model and he would have to source a suitable replacement. After a couple of months passed, I called for an update on when they would help me fix my alarm panel with no real answer. I voiced my displeasure to customer service, and I received a call from the owner a couple of days later telling me they were working on finding a replacement alarm panel and to give them some time. However, they never helped me fix my alarm panel. Because of the lack of service, when I moved to my new home, I decided to go with another company. That's when I found out how hard it is to cancel your contract. First of all, I don't understand why I even had to enter a 2 year monitoring contract. At the time, I already had an alarm system installed by the previous owner. In doing research, it seems alarm companies ask you to enter a contract in exchange for free/cheaper alarm system equipment/installation. However, I already had the equipment installed and just need monitoring. So I am not sure why I have to enter a 2 year contract and couldn't just go month to month. If you don't want to incur any cancellation fees, you have to cancel after your contract is up (which is obvious). However, they automatically renew your contract. So at the time I called about cancelling, I was on my 2nd 2 year contract (which I wasn't aware of). Luckily it was towards the end of that contract. Make sure you check out their terms for cancellation. I believe its a 90 day notice and it has to be in writing. After faxing your cancellation letter, print out the fax confirmation that it was sent. Also, email it or send it by mail with return receipt. That way you have multiple proof that you sent a cancellation letter in writing. Their monitoring is good. In the 4 years that I had them, I only had one incidence and the police responded fairly fast. But I'm sure any reputable alarm company has good monitoring service. Their service technician and customer service were also pretty nice for the most part. This rating is more for their inability to help me fix my alarm system equipment and their ridiculous contracts and cancellation policies. read more

We have ERS as our alarm company for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, our business has the first breakin over the weekend. The sensor didn't go off and so we called to request technician to come in and see what else we need to do. After 2 hours, they haven't showed up. So I called ERS, Becky advised me that they urgent service is to put us on standby, so their technician will show up after their daily appointment. We even have their DVR service which has been 12 years and the quality is so bad that we could only see the lights of the thieves. ERS cannot even arrange someone to see what they can do to upgrade the service today. Wow. It is totally frustrating to use a company who doesn't care when bad things happen. read more

I would like to comment on ERS Technician, Alex, who is a very caring and helpful person. He treats customers very well. He explains the back up battery's life expectancy, its function and its drainage so we understand in case of power outage in our area, the back up battery can be drained to the ground that we need to change the battery. read more

He was very thorough and gave me many options and worked within my budget. My experience with him was excellent. He was there for the beginning of my installation and even came the next day on his day off to show me how to use the system. He called and texted me several times after my installation to ensure I had no issues. On the installing day, the technician Jorge was courteous and professional. NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD! This review is Looooooooong over due, but I was finally able to cancel our contract (may 2018!). BEWARE! This company uses BAD ETHICS! My father passed away in 2016 leaving behind my mother and my little brother whose still in high school. I just finished my last year in college and was coming back to live at home to support my mom. Since my mother is traditional, she's scared that someone will break into our house so we decided to get ERS to calm her nerves. THIS COMPANY DID NOTHING BUT STRESS US OUT. Within the our first year with ERS, our alarm system started giving false alarms. We figured it was probably faulty wiring so we called the customer service rep to send a technician. Unfortunately, the next available time for a technician to come was a week later. No problem. I set up the appointment and told my manager at work that I would have to leave work early to be at home when the technician comes. The day of our scheduled appointment, no one shows up. I received a call 2 hours before our appointed schedule that the technician can not make it today since they ran behind schedule and they only work up until 6pm. Now, I'm a fairly reasonable person. I've had my fair shares in customer service jobs so I can not get angry at the representative because it was not her fault. I told her I understood and she told me they'll dispatch someone to us tomorrow morning. Once again, I had to call my work and tell my manager that I can not go to work tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning comes and I await my technician. I received YET ANOTHER CALL from the service rep girl that they have to ONCE AGAIN push back my appointment because they had to service their "special clients". WHAT??? I've been fairly reasonable but what kind of service is this ? I along with a bunch of other people have been waiting for a dispatch for a week! I was fairly angry but the service representative told me that they'll for sure send someone right after they're done with the special client. They showed up at around 1 PM and fixed the issue. This was only the first time. I had no issues with anything else till early this year (2018). Once again, the false alarm came back. I called ERS again and spoke to the sales rep. Same scenario. No techs were available for two weeks, scheduled an appointment two weeks later, and ONCE AGAIN a special client was placed ahead of me. What the literal fuck. I felt bad for yelling at the customer service representative because I knew it was not her fault that ERS is dispatching their techs to these special clients who don't have to wait in queue. This was beyond ridiculous. I asked to cancel our contact and was notified of the horrendous cancellation process. Whatever. After THREE MONTHS, the cancellation process was finally done and I'm so happy we're done with this company. Do not waste your time and money on this shit company. Call girls were nice and apologetic regarding my situation but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

Had our corporate alarm system installed by this company in 2013. Last night when my accounting manager was leaving the building, she got an alarm error. This morning when we contacted ERS to have them come out and repair, they told us the soonest they could come out would be NEXT Wednesday!!! This was on a Friday morning when we called. I decided to call them back and speak with a Supervisor and when she got on the phone, she told me that I could still arm the system but that it just wouldn't call anyone. No police or even their monitoring system! I thought, that's odd, I have a warehouse of goods I need to be protected over a weekend and she tells me that "the sound of the alarm going off SHOULD be enough to scare them off...!" REALLY?!?!? OBVIOUSLY this Supervisor of Customer Support has NEVER had any FORMAL training on Customer Service Supervisory etiquette or how to handle a customer in THEIR best interests, not the companies!!!! I would like to give them a zero star but no option for me. We got the system installed like one and half years ago and the guy broke my window when he did installation for one sensor and they did nothing from that time except sending us the invoice for final bill for the installation and contract for starting service. Nobody called us according to finish the installation and fix or replace me windows until half year ago, they contact us want to let us start the service, we said ok let's find out what you guys did to my house. Then they sent a guy to check all the sensors and the broken windows, the guy said they to install 6 more sensors and waive all the final fees for our installation, so we signed the contract. But we sold the house two month ago and told ERS please ask for new owner to finish our term and transfer the system under their names. They told us that is our responsibility to transfer service to next owner and ask them to pay the bill or they will keep charging us. I pretty sure this is the worst experience with a company especially they didn't do anything to the new owner after we already sent them the transfer service form, they keep charging us and called a collection company to collect a total $1600 fee. The thing I pretty sure that we already paid $550 for the pre-installation fee and you guys waived another $550. Where those fee came from? We will ask a lawyer to take care of it and suit them for this ridiculous case. Don't use this alarm company if you have other options. read more
