I brought my wedding dress in here to have the length altered and to add a bustle. Maybe I was too naive and trusting, but I gave her permission to do the bustle as she pleased since I trusted her expertise. She quoted me $350 which was an amazing price! My qualm, however, is with the quality of the alterations I received. She did an American bustle on my dress, which just made me look like I had a diaper on. When I brought up my concerns, she just brushed them off. I had to bring my dress to another seamstress to re-do the bustle, where I also found out that the bottom seam of the dress was entirely uneven. I am receiving a $50 refund for the failed bustle but when I brought up the uneven length to her, she completely dismissed my concerns and hung up the phone on me. So now I'm stuck paying an additional $400 to get the SAME, EXACT alterations at a different location. If you're looking for a seamstress in the Pasadena/San Marino area, then I highly recommend Perfect Fit Design & Alterations! They're extremely knowledgeable!

Some of it was ignorable or blended in enough to ignore, but specifically a belted area around the waist ended up noticeably sloppy and wider than I wanted. They made a bunch of excuses and shooed me out the door. I couldn't even look at the dress without being mad - not a great wedding day vibe. Armeene came to my rescue with only two weeks left until the wedding! She was clear with me that it would be difficult to pull off - the dress was constructed in a way that made the customization difficult (why did the dress shop even promise it?? Ugh). Not only did she and her assistant understand exactly what I wanted and pull it off nearly perfectly, they did it in only two days for a price that I found to be more than fair!! I knew when I bought my dress that I wanted a few things to happen: close or hide the trending deep V in the front, add detachable straps (I ordered them from the bridal studio), and take in the bust. I also need some regular alterations, hemming the dress, bustle, and taking it in a bit. She made all the changes happen and they looked absolutely amazing! I was very happy with how it turned out. I knew my dress wasn't an easy one to alter since she'd have to remove and replace the appliqué on it throughout the process, but she did an incredible job! Greg told me the calves could be stretched so I paid to have them stretched and soled at the same time- turning a $5 pair of boots into a $105 pair of boots. He was great at communicating with me through the app and seemed kind, so I drove far for the service. I tried them on when I dropped them off so he could see where they needed stretched in the calf. When I came to pick them up, I tried them on with the new soles- and the calves did not appear to be stretched at all. What hurt my feelings was when he said "These are for YOUR legs?" and looked down at my kankles in UTTER disgust. The judgement on his face has left a permanent burn mark on my memory. I think back to that moment every time I pass the $5 boots-turned-$105 boots I still cannot wear, every time I walk out my door. I paid what was asked, I'm only sad I didn't have more self respect to say "YEAH. MY LEGS. YOU SAW ME TRY THEM ON. WHO DID YOU THINK I WAS GETTING THEM STRETCHED FOR?". 2 stars off for the contorted, disapproving face he made at my legs that will haunt me every time I try on high boots for the rest of my life.

The entire experience was so refreshing in the midst of stress of whether my reception dress would fit and look halfway decent. Jill and Maria were confident from the start and immediately got to troubleshooting my reception dress. Within minutes, Maria diagnosed the issues and assured me that it would all be fixed. What a RELIEF! Granted, I still had to get into the best shape of my life in the month or so that I had before the wedding, but knowing that I was in Maria and Jill's expert hands meant I didn't have to scramble for a new dress. Both dresses were completed to my satisfaction in a timely fashion. Jill was always responsive to my requests and calls and so kind. Maria is a wonder and I am so thankful for her skilled artistry.
