I'm in California but have a rental house in Seattle. This house has a sewage injection pump for the whole house's sewage to the main line uphill. We had to replace the pump a couple of years ago, using a now-defunct plumber, but the tenants had problems recently. The pump either did not work, or it kept running and wasting a lot of power. So I sent out requests on a Sunday to several Yelp plumbers, and Eric was the only prompt response. He called Monday morning, and I gave him the details I knew (not much) and the tenant's phone number. He coordinated with them, and called me about an hour later saying the check valve needed to be replaced for a total bill of $250. I was a little shocked at the (what seemed to me to be a) low price. :-) But I asked about the pump itself, and he said that the existing one was underpowered and might be suspect, although he never tried to push me to get a new one. But I decided to get one to solve the problem for long term, as I don't like to deal with problems, and I don't want my tenants (and their young kids) to deal with sewage problems. So, he called about an hour later saying the pump was installed, tested, and everything was fine. He was able to take my credit card info over the phone. Total cost was $680 plus taxes. I have no idea how that compares to other plumbers, but I don't think it was too much, considering it was dealing with raw sewage. And I found out from the tenants that the outlet pipe had been loose, so the sewage had leaked back into the chamber, which is what caused the pump to overwork. So, it sounds like it was pretty messy. The tenants told me "the plumber seemed to really know his stuff and was very nice to deal with even though he was quite busy getting calls from people needing urgent plumbing needs." I almost hate adding a good review, as he might become too busy to be so responsive in the future. But I didn't want to be selfish, so I decided to share. :-) read more

You can tell from my reviews (and it's been awhile) that I rarely give out 5 star reviews but Erik deserves it. Prompt on calling me back (on a Friday late afternoon) and was able to get a very nagging clogged pipe unclogged the next day. I have no idea of costs to fix these type of things but what he quoted and charged me for seemed super fair. Especially after all the horror stories I read about Mr. Rooter and Beacon completely ripping people off. I have worked with many a contractor in my ownership of 6 different properties (total 10 units) and Erik is always one of the best. He's my "go to" plumbing guy as he does good, reliable and reasonably priced work. As a real estate agent, I am asked regularly for referrals to local service providers of all kinds for housing, and when plumbing comes up, he is my first referral every time. In fact, so many of my clients end up liking his work (and him) that they end up referring him to their friends and family too and using him as their longtime plumbing helper. That alone is a sign of a guy who is doing a good job because no one calls a mediocre plumber out again. He's done work on 4 of my properties and the only reason he has worked on the other rental units I own is because they are out of state. I highly recommend Erik's work. A failed wax ring in a condo is a insurance claim waiting to happen. So at the first sign of water on the floor my Husband and I said "we gotta fix this". So off we went to our local hardware store to purchase a wax ring. We went home and after watching several youtube videos said "we got this". So we pulled the toilet, scrapped the remains of the disintegrated ring away and put the new one on. Enter this girl here, not so strong, and clumsy and....when we were oh so carefully positioning the toilet for the install...dropped the toilet. New wax ring destroyed, water still leaking. I had an outdoor spigot on the back of my house that was leaking behind the wall siding and on top of that, low pressure to the shower head in one of my bathrooms. Erik and his brother came out, assessed what needed to be done, and had it all fixed in less than an hour. That included replacing the outdoor spigot entirely and finding out that my shower water had debris clogging up the head. Great from start to finish. Excellent communication. Very flexible to work with my schedule. I had three toilets (two very old ones) to be replaced. They arrived right when Erik said they would. They had all the work done in less than 2.5 hours. Took all the old toilets and everything with them as well as all the cardboard from the new toilets. They were friendly and were happy to let my dog wander around and check on them so that she felt good about them being there and I didn't have to lock her in a room for hours. They didn't fix i at all. My home has a sewer ejector. Anyone who has one is feeling my pain right about now. Over the last 10 years I have had to self-service it approx 3x's/year. Not exactly a good time :-). I used Erik last year to install a supply line to my refrigerator and was pleased with the job he did and the reasonable pricing. . . Then, last week I contacted him again to perform a small plumbing repair at a house owned by a client of mine. He said he would be able to do the work, but couldn't get to in until "sometime next week". I told him that was fine. The house is vacant and he could complete the project at his leisure (as long as the project was completed before the end of this week). Just to make sure he didn't forget about me (he sounded pretty busy when we spoke), I told him I would follow up with a message to him through his website, which I sent immediately after speaking with him. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of this week pass without a call. So today I called him to find out when he expected to be able to go to the house. He remembered our conversation and remembered seeing the email I'd sent him, but admitted that my project "hadn't been added to the calendar" and that now the earliest he could get to me would be "sometime next week". The repair cannot wait until next week, so now I am unfortunately forced to hire an "emergency repair" plumber, for which I assume I will pay emergency rates. As the owner of a small business, I know what it's like to get busy. Sometimes my company gets booked out several months in advance. But when a professional commits to completing a project, "I forgot" is NOT an acceptable excuse! As I mentioned at the start of this post, Erik does good work and his prices are fair, but to be left in the lurch like this is a huge bummer. I won't be calling him again. :( read more

I thought I was hearing water dripping noise in the ceiling, so I called and just got the appointment. He investigated noise and told me it is most likely water hammering noise. He said he could put some holes in the wall and investigate but as long as I do not see the obvious sign of leakage, it is not likely that there exists a water leakage. At the end, he told me that he won't charge me anything, so I offered a tip but he did not take it either. I have not had any experience with plumbers before, but I think I can trust these people. read more
