The table was completely silent for the first few minutes because everyone was busy slurping noodles and digging into their food! After a 4,000 mile, three week road trip filled with mediocre food, my husband and I stopped at Erawan before heading back home and our faith in good food was restored! We got the papaya salad and yellow curry. Both were flavorful and fresh and this is the first yellow curry I've had where the vegetables were chopped small enough to be fork tender in the curry. After going to a nearby restaurant and finding them short staffed tonight, we saw Erawan Thai across the parking lot. We love authentic Thai cuisine and immediately made a beeline for the door. We were warmly greeted and after a short wait, shown to an open table. After examining the very extensive menu, we settled on yellow curry with mixed meats (beef, pork and chicken), as well as a spicy basil dish with salmon. Both entrees were exceptional, especially the perfectly grilled salmon. Pricing at Erwan Thai is moderate and well worth every dime. We are pleased to have discovered another favorite restaurant in an unexpected way. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's quite hard to find good Asian food here in Cedar City.. coming from someone in an Asian family. My husband and I first came in to the store to try. The experience was great - super friendly, attentive, and professional service. Store was nice and clean. Our food came out quick and was presented very nicely. It was also DELICIOUS, but so big I couldn't finish! Husband loves the yellow curry. I love the chicken pad Thai and their Thai tea - probably one of the best Thai teas Ihave tried! I believe it has been my 4th time visiting here? And this was during the lunch hour. Do understand that these folks don't have those lunch specials (unfortunately). So it was a dent in the wallet. So if you plan to visit here, expect to pay a bit if you're taking a party more than 2. I had the boat noodle soup, it was very fragrant and when it came to the broth? It was peculiar. I have no clue what they put in the broth? But it had hints of coconut in it, something tropical to give it that acquired taste. It needed no seasoning, THAT, I will tell you! This place, thought a bit pricy, will always give a ton of soup which I admire, however, if you want more noodles? Just ask! I recommend the egg noodles ALWAYS for hearty, strong broth such as this soup. Omg their fried chicken wings? They were so good, reminded me of the mochikochiko chicken back in Hawai'i. For the business? I recommend selling a mochiko chicken plate, the breading reminds me of rice flour, it has a hint of sweetness to it but it doesn't overwhelm your taste buds! I suggest, if you're looking to try a Hawaiian influenced fried chicken, get 3 orders of the chicken wings and pineapple fried rice. Then get like 3 scoops of mac salad from mo bettahs. The Thai beef noodle soup was good as well. Less fragrant than my boat noodle soup, but it was more hearty! The won ton min? It reminded me of back home from Hawaii. I recommend that if you take this to go? Have some kamaboku (fishcake) with it, it will definitely add more flavor and give off that umami Ramen taste. Bonus if you add ginger seaweed nori to it. As far as cost goes, it could be at least cheaper during the lunch hour as other restaurants offer lunch prices. Which would definitely bring more customers in. However, the place is rather small, they have an outside area which would make perfect for dining out of the restaurant (so, yeah....) again, as I've mentioned, if you're an avid soda drinker like I am, I will tell you, they do not have soda machines only soda cans. So take note of that. Overall a decent time, we had Hella leftovers, still, I think a lunch special pricing would change the attraction and bring customers in more to the restaurant. So far I've only tried the pad Thai with beef and chicken Tom yum soup. Both are incredibly delicious. I grew up in Los Angeles, so I'm used to some really great Thai restaurants. I've found you can learn a lot about a Thai restaurant based on their pad Thai since it's a staple of any Thai restaurant. Erawan's is fantastic. Perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory. There's also no overpowering fish sauce flavor which a lot of Thai restaurants struggle with. The quality of beef is really good and so is the chicken in the Tom yum soup. The medium spice level for the soup is the perfect level for me. Even if everything else on the menu wasn't as great, having these two items be exceptional is enough to keep me coming back. read more

We are non-local stayed in cedar city to hike and visit zion n bryce canyon. Came to this place for dinner. Food was absolutely fresh and tasty. Service was fast. Portion size is good as well. Ambience is warm and cute. We ordered chicken satay, spring rolls, thai chicken fried rice, shrimp yellow curry. For curry they ask u spice range 1 to 4. For other Ask for chilli sauces if u like them spicy. If you order noodle soup, its a huge bowl. I saw few more customers relishing them. This was once our favorite restaurant in Cedar City. The ambience and food were delightful. Sadly- that is no more! The ambiance is ruing by knocking a wall to see into the kitchen? Been here a couple of times. Easily one of the best Thai places in southern utah or even northern utah. Staff are so nice and accommodating. Very clean and very nice layout. There's a huge window that looks into the kitchen. You can see them preparing your meal. Food is so good! Spice levels are right on with a 3 very spicy. Level 4 is for that Thai heat lover who can't feel his lips or tongue! My wife had the Salmon with a mild curry. It was awesome! Crunchy with a almost brown gravy look. Served with broccoli and rice. I love your food for sure!!! however, i am eclectic. I have been to the southeast Asia... Your food really tries, but you cannot get the ingredients you need on time. May i suggest a Thai/American fusion restaurant? Please use fresh coconuts. There are flowers in Thai cuisine. These white people will never get used to your delicious cuisine unless you slowly incorporate it into american dishes the know and love. These are a very pedestrian and unsophisticated lot. They have never traveled, and they think Golden Corral is Haute Cuisine. I would give you 5 stars, and i still do for the food is delicious. I had to take 2 stars because you misunderstood the demographics. Your place is definitely salvagable with some extravagant tweaks, but i can help you for free. i can stand or sit 1 houer a day. read more

Such a disappointing experience. This is the second time we ordered from Erawan. The first time, our experience was pretty good, though not outstanding, but good enough to come back. Having lived in Hawaii, we are used to the best Thai food, so we try not to be too picky. We won't make that mistake again. To begin with, we ordered a 'pot' of the Tom Kha. So, for $4 you get a single order of 16 oz. (Which we ordered the first time). But for $11, are supposed to get 3 servings (which is what we ordered this time). Except that the container was a 32 oz. size that wasn't even filled up. When I called the restaurant, the woman acted like I somehow got things wrong, but you can see their menu/prices for yourself. She also tried to say that there was much more chicken and mushrooms in the larger size. Yes, there were more (barely cooked) mushrooms, but hardly any chicken. And the chicken was dry and tough. I didnt appreciate being made to feel like I was in the wrong for their ambiguous menu and lies about the ingredients. Next, for our order of Volcano Shrimp, that boasted 'jumbo grilled shrimp' for $17, it was a ripoff. There were only 4 measly shrimp that were overcooked, and by no means jumbo. And the garlic chili sauce tasted like it came from a jar. We also ordered a Panang curry with chicken, and a Green curry with seafood combination. The sauces tasted okay, but were runny. And the amount of curry in the dishes was not the same. I definitely don't recommend. Yes, there is some good here, but I think their biggest problem is inconsistency, not to mention their rudeness to paying customers. That dropped my review from 2 stars down to 1. Tried lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon. Staff are very friendly and attentive! They have lunch specials for about $8.99. Comes with a spring roll and soup for my phad thai. I was thinking the portion would be small for that price so I asked if I could pay extra for more noodles. She only charged $2 for more noodles and boy... I dont think i needed more noodles. As I'm typing this I already am falling in a food coma. Big portion, took some left overs with me. The noodles were perfectly cooked. Not overcooked and mushy, they were just right with good flavoring. 10/10 food and service!!!! On our way back to LA from Moab and we decided to stop and get a snack. We almost settled for sandwiches but found this gem. Phenomenal, fresh and healthy Thai food!!! The lady that helped me out at the cash register was so beautiful and so sweet!! I wish I asked her her name!! We ordered the Choo Chee ELK curry and the Thai Lomein with organic chicken to-go. Sooooo delicious and flavorful. The noodle in the lomein tasted so fresh and perfect and the tender elk slices paired so pleasantly with the thick red Cho chee curry sauce. The to go portion was very generous and easy to eat on the road! I wish we dined in, it was so cute inside. They had various herbal teas in jars as soon as you walk in and they also have a tv pointing to the dining area playing animals/wildlife like are you kidding!? We will most definitely be back. Let me tell you, it was absent of flavor, tofu was scorched to hell and back and the noodle they used confused the heck out of me. Store bought and not freshly made? Nothing about the dish resembles a real pad see ew from any Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. Anyways, if you're passing through or visiting from Vegas, the 4.5 stars on this restaurant is misleading.
