Buffet brunches are sooooo dangerous. But I love them (even though I'm one of the most useless people to eat brunch with because I can barely eat 2 plates). I didn't get an item off the menu; I went straight to the buffet. Some high (and low) lights: -They have lavender pancakes. I was hesitant but it tasted like a spa in my mouth (literally what I said when I took a bite). Unique but pretty delicious. -They have waffles made to order. I had the chocolate orange waffles and they tasted incredibly powdery. We did not enjoy that. The apple caramel waffles were amazing though. Not too sweet, and the flavor took me back to the holidays. -Omelette station. Nom. -Crispy bacon. FAVORITE. -They have really good sausage. I think it was an apple sausage? Whatever it was, it was juicy (yes, that's what she said) -Love the layout of the restaurant. It's spacious with the buffet right in the middle. There are televisions and more comfortable seats in the corners of the room which worked well for people doing business. -LOUD. But not in a bad way; more in a festive, fun, everyone's-having-a-great-meal way. -Great service. We loved our waitress who came over every 10 minutes. I wish: -They had more variety of dessert/pastries. -They had more variety of waffles and kept it consistent. Best breakfast place that I've patronized on the eastside! Parking is abundant if you choose to park in their FREE underground garage. Then you take the elevators up to the Hyatt Hotel. Inside this gorgeous hotel is Eques. Their menu selection is creative and reasonably priced (which surprised us given the location). We ordered a breakfast that had two eggs, potatoes, toast, and a choice of meat. Unreal because it only cost $14.99 for all that! The food was very delicious. Service was out-of-this-world superb! Ah Eques, such a pleasant laid back brunch. We went with friends and got seated pretty fast (with a reservation) even though half our party was late. The staff is amazing: responsive, polite, and really nice. The food is good though I wish they had more vegetarian cooked options. I enjoyed some of the non-veg food but my companions were feeling a tad jealous. Just to make it clear: there are veggie options a plenty from fresh fruits to muffins and cupcakes or omelets. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. I ordered the corned beef hash and overall the flavor was excellent. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, but *almost* over salted. The corned beef was delicious, very tender and perfect flavor. The Hollandaise and caramelized onions were very good but a little sparse. The most disappointing part were my fried eggs. I ordered over medium and they definitely came out over cooked. Temperature wise the eggs were nice and hot, but the rest of the food was almost room temperature. Service was so-so and we were charged for two coffees when we only had ordered one. It was fixed after we brought it to our server's attention. The strangest part was when we asked for to-go boxes, our server said they were out of small ones so she brought two small paper coffee cups to put our food in. It was fine for my leftovers but to think that my friend would slide her eggs Benedict leftovers (an entire half order) into a small coffee cup was really odd. I brought my husband for Father's Day because I kept reading that this was the best brunch in Bellevue. I'm not sure if it was because it was the Father's Day menu, but I was not that impressed. That's not to say it wasn't good, because it was tasty. But the spread, in my opinion, was nowhere worth the $50/person price tag. I mean Jesus, I was expecting golden eggs at least. But no. I'm pregnant, so I decided to pass on the prime rib and the salmon, but my husband had both and said they were okay. I had scrambled eggs, pancakes, plenty of shrimp, chicken fingers, and mac and cheese. They were just okay, nothing spectacular. We might go back because apparently it's cheaper when it's not a special occasion since, like I said, it wasn't horrible, it was just expensive and I didn't feel like the it fit the price tag. Sidenote: We had to sit outside the restaurant. I didn't complain when we were seated, because I figured that it was just probably busy inside. It wasn't at all. There was plenty of open seating. Halfway through our meal, a hostess went to sit another table outside and they asked if they could sit inside. I heard the hostess tell them that inside was reserved for people with reservations. Which we had and I TOLD them that when we walked up. So that was slightly annoying as well. read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Bellevue. Located on the second floor rotunda of the Wintergarden section of the Hyatt, Eques has all your morning favorites. A few of personal selections include; dungeness crab cake eggs benedict, blueberry brioche stuffed french toast, and fluffy buttermilk pancakes. The food is great and the ambiance is very comfortable. They have several large TV's so you can watch the game while you stuff yourself with breakfast treats. They do offer a buffet, but I haven't had a chance to partake yet. Perhaps next time I come in I'll succumb to the calorie bonanza and belly up to the buffet. What an awesome place for breakfast in Bellevue. The food options are unique and delicious. For example, the banana split pancakes are to die for. They serve $3 mimosas and bloody Marys during brunch and provide free parking on weekends and 3 hour validation during the week. I also recommend the signature egg Benedict, which are served with smoked salmon or a singleness crab cake. Either option can't be beat. If you prefer something sweet, like me, try the blueberry graham cracker French toast-- basically a fancy funnel cake with berries and cream. Super good! Worst service! The place is nice and clean, the food is local, and it is acutally good, but the service was the absolute worst. I don't usually give a bad review and I am not a high maintence customer but I felt like I should give potential customers a word of warning. My party and I waited for a very long time to be seated, the server was arrogant toward us, and we waited for our meal for quite a long time. Had breakfast here with the wife and kids - the wife and I both enjoyed the specialty eggs benedict. I had the Prosciutto & Citrus while the wife had the Smoked Salmon. Both were fantastic but overall the Prosciutto & Citrus was the real winner. The other winner was the fact that the kids got to eat the buffet for free since they were under 4. The full buffet is definitely the way to go here. For $20 per person, you get access to everything from omelets to oatmeal to cold cheeses and bakery items. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and not super dry like some buffet eggs get. The bacon was crispy but not burnt. They had a really interesting andouille sausage grits that were spicy and yummy and different. I tried a little taste of everything including the cottage cheese with fruit compote. OMG soooo yummy. They also had fresh berries and so I added some of those to the cheese/compote combo. The compote was very sweet and then the freshness of the berries and the creaminess of the cottage cheese. It was fantastic! We heard the waffles are the thing to have here, but didn't get to try them as they are not on the buffet. Perhaps someday. :) We will definitely be returning! read more

I would never have thought of going to a hotel brunch in my own city, so when my friend suggested this option at the Hyatt, I was initially hesitant. I expected overpriced food and mediocre quality. This restaurant has worked its way into my brunch rotation. The hosts and servers are friendly and helpful, even when it's not their assigned table. My servers were attentive. I had reservations both times which is definitely necessary since the restaurant was full both times. Suprisinging, the restaurant closes at noon so arrive early for best selection. There is a bowl of Seattle Chocolate chocolates at the host table, and it's fun to taste new flavors that I haven't heard of (trail mix chocolate?). I ordered the breakfast buffet both times. This buffet includes coffee and a juice, including V8 and orange. You can also substitute soda (yeah!). It includes omelet (made with 2 eggs) or eggs made your way with your choice of ingredients. I ordered egg white omelets, and there is no extra cost! Meat options include ham, chicken sausage, bacon, and turkey. The chicken sausage is tasty, and I recommend it. Cheese options include cheddar, Monterey Jack, and a white cheese. Vegetable options include onion, spinach, mushrooms, peppers. There is smoked salmon with the normal dressings of capers, lemon, onion, and bagels. There is Beecher's cheese squares and some cured meats. There is a bakery section with croissants, granola bars, banana bread, and muffins. The hot foot section has an excellent selection - scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, chicken sausage, veggie hash (special of the day), and a rotating soup (the cauliflower soup was good). There was a fresh selection of berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries), very sweet pineapple, watermelon, and cherries today. There is a smooth honey yogurt. You can finish your meal with dessert, a delicious waffle (1/2 size of a normal waffle) with flavors including blueberry lemonade, peaches & cream, root beer float (ordered this both times and highly recommend). You can make reservation but the kitchen closes at noon. The buffet is a little pricy for normal American breakfast food... My two teenagers, who are always the most difficult to please were less enthused. One had eggs Benedicts, liked it, one didn't care for his pancake and sausage but liked the waffle, hence 4 stars. The buffet includes classic, standard breakfast items like scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, and there's also an omelette bar and Belgian waffles made to order.
