An Unexpected Miracle When I Needed Help the Most!…read more My car had a serious fluid leak, and I was completely overwhelmed. I honestly didn't know what to do. I even went to the repair shop I had always trusted, but they refused to repair my car. At that moment, I thought my car had a major problem that might be impossible to fix. Then I found Jay R Automotive, and everything changed. To my surprise, Jay was able to repair my car for about half the price I had been quoted elsewhere! Even more amazingly, he provided a warranty on the repair. I could hardly believe it! It made me wonder how I could be so fortunate to find a repair shop with such excellent automotive knowledge, professional skills, honesty, and genuine care for its customers. During one of the most stressful moments I had experienced with my car, finding Jay felt like an unexpected miracle. I am truly grateful to Jay for his kindness, honesty, and professional help. He didn't just repair my car -- he gave me peace of mind when I needed it most. Thank you so much, Jay, from the bottom of my heart! I will never forget your help, and I sincerely recommend Jay R Automotive to anyone looking for an honest and trustworthy mechanic. In my personal experience, Jay R Automotive is truly a repair shop you will never regret choosing. This is my sincere feeling, straight from the heart!

Highly recommend! If you value honesty, then Parson is your guy. We travel from Northern Virginia…read morejust to get an honest quote from Parson. We recently had some minor trouble with our MDX and took it to the dealer. They said the steering fluid was leaking and quoted us $3500 to replace the steering column. We were skeptical, since our car had been relatively low maintenance and not having any signs of trouble prior to this. We always go to Parson for a second opinion, b/c he knows the business and we can trust him. He said there was a very small leak and that replacing the steering column was not necessary. It also did not have anything to do with the reason why the car was having issues. He fixed the car and recommended watching it and if it gets worse, then we should go back. He's a gem!

I only take my car to Epic Auto Specialist from now on!!!…read more I used to get my regular oil changes at auto shops like NTB's and Jiffy Lube's alike but after getting recommendations for unnecessary repairs I followed my hunch and decided it was time for second opinion. Just read my other reviews!! Juan Carlos is my Epic Auto Specialist technician and I only trust his professional assessment of my car. I reside in Arlington, VA and will make drive out to Gaithersburg, MD because it's not worth being taken of advantage of. The techs at Epic confirmed my hunch and saved me $$$ from unnecessary repairs. This shop is honest, dependable and accommodating. It's also very clean and comfortable while you wait for your car to be serviced. If I could give them 10 stars I certainly would.

I also asked them to check the transmission fluid and investigate a suspension knock that I was hearing/feeling. The owner checked the car and called me and we agreed on the work to be done and the price. He explained that the knocking was due to strut and sway bar wear and I decided not to have that work done this visit as he said it wasn't a dangerous situation. When I went to pick up the car I had additional discussions with the owner and I found him to be very honest and sincere. He understood that I was reticent to sink a bunch of money into a 12 year old car. He knew I had done my own brake work and said he was confident I could do the suspension work myself and even gave me tips on how to do it. The work LARC did was done well, with quality materials, and at a fair price - not cheap, but fair. The owner also checked out an old Mazda I had and while no work was done, that experience was also very positive. Another good feature of this shop is that the station is open late so you can go in after hours and pay and pick up your car. And "The Grill" also has great food to boot. There is always an element of fear when I take my car in to have work done. Mechanics many times are in a position to take advantage of customers, and many do. So besides knowing I am going to get quality work done at LARC, I feel there is great value in knowing that I can trust that I'm going to get honest feedback and not get scammed. I feel very fortunate to have found LARC and I will definitely be using them for future work.

After the most recent work, my car was making a weird smell so I called and left a message asking when I could bring it in. Then I called again. And again. Instead of replacing my alternator, owner Sam Dawood, who is either incompetent or disreputable told me both my batteries were malfunctioning and replaced two good Mercedes Benz batteries with 2 interstate batteries V4MTP and MTP48-H-6 both of which the Interstate website will tell you Battery doesn't fit vehicle. He charged me $765.49. Invoice attached. The Following day my computer again told me I needed a new alternator. I returned and he claimed one battery was defective and supposedly replaced. Following day same message appeared. I returned and he then tells me it would take hours of diagnostic testing to "diagnose" and couldn't even give an estimate for repairs until I paid probably around $1,000 just for "diagnosis " which I already knew was the alternator. Instead I drove my mercedes to a mercedes dealership - service. They replaced the alternator and two years later I had No problem with the alternator but with both batteries which failed prematurely since they were not compatible with my mercedes. And although under warranty since they were the incorrect interstate batteries, warranty does not apply. Don't believe any of those testimonials. He keeps hounding you after he services your car to write something nice. They were written under pressure. And don't expect him to honor the warranty. He will claim it was something unrelated to your service. But don't put yourself in that position To begin with. Don't bring your European car to Drive European.
