I've gone to Friends Nails several times over the years but to be honest I hadn't been back since Fathers Day 2021. Not for any particular reason, just stopped getting my nails done as much. I have my wedding coming up and I'm looking for a great place to accommodate my bridesmaids and I, so I went in today to get my nails done. I mentioned to one of the employees/owners(?) that my bridal shower is tomorrow and I just wanted to pretty them up for the occasion. Now... it took 2.5 hours for a mani pedi. Which don't get me wrong I love the massage chair but after about a hour it starts to get uncomfortable sitting in it. My manicure was also done from the pedicure chair. The gentleman who did my nails was really friendly but seemed to keep looking at me for reassurance as to what he was doing was correct. Which made me thing maybe he wasn't licensed OR he is just very green to the process and is still learning. My pedicure doesn't look too bad, but my manicure is no good. The polish is bumpy and there are even portions of the nail that aren't painted. After leaving there I cant said I'll ever go back. I paid $100 for a manipedi and wax still tipped $20 because he did try his best I believe. But after having mentioned to the first person I was getting my nails done for my bridal shower you'd think maybe they would've given me someone with a little more experience to ensure I'd want to bring my bridal party back in November or even make sure I was a repeat customer. I'm going to be removing to polish and repainting them myself at home. Which in hindsight I should've just done from the beginning but wanted to treat myself. I found this place on yelp. I trust my fellow yelpers so I stopped by. Their service was extremely slow. It took two hours for a pedicure. When I signed in I was told there was no wait, which was untrue because it took 20 min for them to call be back. After that I soaked in the pedicure chair for about an hour until my feet were wrinkled and white. During the long soak, I decided to get my gel redone and asked for the tech to wrap my nail while I was soaking to remove the current gel polish I was wearing. They came up with several excuses to why I had to wait until I was dry to they wrap the nail at the manicure tables to someone else will wrap you... After asking three different employees to wrap my nail (to speed up the manicure) one finally came to wrap my nails at the end of my pedicure, which didn't save any time. I always insist to allow the acetone to dissolve all of the gel on my nails because my nails are very thin. After sharing this with the nail tech she proceeded to scrape the polish off my nails with a nail clipper. I asked again not to do that because my nails were thin and she reluctantly stop and rewrapped my nails. As she proceeded to file and shape and buff my nails I clinched in discomfort. Overall, my pedicure was nice and my gel manicure was ok. If I return, I will probably visit them in the morning and soak off my own gel polish.... read more

They greet you with smiles and peaceful energy when you come in which is a big deal to me because sometimes you walk into a salon and they don't even look your way which I think is so rude. They're so polite. I even saw a gentleman pull out seats for his clients for them to sit at his station; so sweet. They had to redo my chrome finish on all my nails cause they kept leaving scratches in the finish and they looked messed up and just over all bad service they ended up making my nails bleed at the cuticle I really do not recommend this place. OH MY GOODNESS!! I've been there twice and had a bad experience both times. The first time I had spa pedicure that was great except for the nail polish was garbage and it was clumping and they kept thinning it out with acetone. I sat to get my nails done with dipping powder but plus a manicure first but obviously my to nails weren't dried and I ended up with sock print on both my big toes. My nails, I got dipping powder and a week later I put my hand in my bag and when I took it out of the bag the nail on my middle finger was gone. I went back to show them and the owner had an attitude. Really !! Your the one that said dipping powder last a month. So then I said what the hell lets give it another try. Well the women that did my dipping powder was slapping my hands so hard I had red marks on my hand she was so ruff cutting my cuticles I thought she was going to cut me all of my cuticles where inflamed for like a week i had to sleep In gloves with coconut oil on my cuticles... I always get very short nubby's nails but my nails grow very long so I usually get them cut as short as possible but I'm very specific and I always instruct them to make sure they are all even... all she had to do was cut and shape. Now that my nails are growing out every nail is shaped differently so know let's talk about the pedicure. They had a student give me 80 dollar delux Pedicare , he cut filed each nail a Different shape he did not give me a foot massage nor did he use the pumice stone, or the hot stones. He put the polish so thick its big glob on my big toes. I was so angry, disappointed and speechless. honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the kid or kids aren't licensed! They really need to stop letting inexperience kids take care of their clients .. read more

Having a perfect daughter and mom time. We feel really appreciated and pampered. The place is extremely clean and nice. The decoration made me fall in love. They are very professional! Surprising how the girls are not talking to each other on their language like in other places. It always bothered me in other places...but here I can feel appreciated. I have been going to this place for well over eight years. I went there before taking a very long vacation to Europe. I had a Mani-Pedi. Cost me $75. I walked out of there with my two big toe nails bleeding. My left toe nail got infected on vacation. My finger nails were rushed with bumps on them. The owner actually did them. I will never go back to the salon again!!!!! She kept trying to talk me into getting gel on my toenails, which I just had regular nail polish. I got GEL on my fingernails. She cut my cuticles like she was in a hurry. She filed them and then started painting. She never even rinse them off or put alcohol on them. It was a rushed 15 minute job. I'm really surprised this salon has so many 5 star reviews! I was in town for 2 weeks and I needed my nails done, so I came in. They took me right away for a pedicure and a no chip manicure. Pedi first... Yes, the chair was comfortable, the bowl was clean. It was lined with a plastic liner like a shower cap. I'm not 100% sure all of the tools were autoclaved. She greeted me with a tool package, but I couldn't tell if it was sealed, then she used additional metal tools at her station but I don't know where they came from. She never introduced herself and there was a serious language barrier. We went back and forth with hand motions numerous times to get me to do what she wanted. The lotion and scrub she used smelled lovely. The pedicure took a while but I guess I might be considered impatient. I'm not a southerner. Manicure: Again the language barrier posed a bit of an issue when she was asking about clipping vs. filing and shape. Overall, she did a decent job. The surface of my nails aren't smooth, they're a bit bumpy and lumpy and so left with something tiny and black stuck in the corner of one, but I figured it was easier to just pick it out myself. After less than 5 days, the front edges of my nails have worn off and look gross. Atmosphere: the salon has a fun red, black and white color scheme. There are 2 small Hello Kitty kid pedicure chairs, which I've only seen here. They don't really match but they'd make any little girl's day. Other Yelpers have commented that there are no smells from the chemicals. Someone else was getting acrylics done and it smelled awful. There was no ventilation system, not even an exhaust fan. I could even smell someone's food being reheated in the back room. A whole lot of gross smells. I was trapped in there for about 2.5 hours!! Way too long for a mani/pedi! $55 was reasonable, but I'd rather pay more for fast, friendly service that lasts. I guess next time I'm in Clermont, I'll try a different salon. read more

It was my first time here and my experience to say the least was just awful. The technician had an attitude and no matter what she was upset about you don't give a customer attitude for no reason. In the end I thought the results looked decent, although they sneaked in a $8 charge to remove previous dip powder but not even a few days later the dip powder is coming of. never have I experienced this, they must be doing something wrong my dio powder in previous salons has lasted without breakage AT ALL for 3 to 4 weeks! I have never seen a salon operated like this. Buyer beware. Extremely deceptive practices. My wife was going in there for manicures and fills. Even though Cathy the person that did her nails was not pleasant and was rough with her work, she thought she did a good job on her nails so she put up with it. What concerned her was each time she went there, Cathy was always charging her higher than she was supposed to. This last time and the last time my wife will ever go there, she specifically made sure that she found out what a manicure would cost before she went in as she was concerned. She was told $35. She said ok and went there. When she came in, she verified that she was only getting a manicure. When she sat down, Cathy, the nail tech, asked if she was going to get the same thing as last time. My wife answered no. I only want a manicure. Cathy did what she wanted to anyways and at the end my wife was surprised being charged almost double at $65 for the manicure! She was never told that it would be otherwise. On top of that, oil was dumped all over my wife's pants before she went on a plane to leave and even though my wife specifically asked not to have Cathy do her eyebrow wax, Cathy said "no....I do your eyebrow waxes" and just took her back to do it. My wife was uncomfortable the whole time, did not want to be confrontational. I called later actually to question this practice. Do you know what the receptionist said????? She stated that when they tell you the menu prices it is only a quote....the technician decides what will be charged. By the way....you are not told until after the fact! It is usually substantially more. Be careful....they even admit that their menu of prices means nothing to them. When I asked to speak to a manager or owner they stated there was none to speak to. Sad to see that this salon has gone down. It's just not the same. My daughter and I went in recently and they were confused as to what we wanted and then didn't really ask the normal questions. Not nail shape, not what else would you like, not what kind of scrub. I got left her during the pedicure so they could go do eyebrows on someone else. The water wasn't warm and the towel wasn't hot. It was just kind of a halfway done pedi. The pumace was so dingy and used but I'm embarrassed I didn't ask for a replacement. My daughter had to do a good bit of cleanup on her own nails afterwards. A couple of them look a bit misshapen for dipped nails. Someone else came in with appointment issues while we were there and someone else complained that they have been waiting so long. Today I went to Friends Nails just as I have for several years and I will never be returning. The incredibly rude employee had the nerve to ask me if I'm pregnant. Let me just say I had a baby 6 months ago with a horrible c section experience and this is not what I needed to hear. Not only did she ask me this but then when I said "no I am not pregnant"....she proceeded to continue by saying "WOW, look big". I agree with other customers that the service has declined. I always have a wait even with an appt and the work they do isn't usually to my satisfaction. I haven't voiced my complaints because by the time they are done I just want to get out of there since it took so long. Women go to these salons to make themselves feel better and to do something for themselves. It should be a positive experience and for me, lately it has not been. read more

People are NOT kidding about the bleeding fingers. Me and a friend went in for a pedicure and the powder dip. Took 2.5 hours! Both of us left with almost every finger bleeding. There were probably 8-10 staff, only one of which apparently knows how to do fingers. My pedicure was decent, but my nail experience was terrible. The woman was so rough, literally smacking my hands to get the powder off. She was not paying attention and kept cutting my skin with the nail grinder. It was so painful and I will never step foot in this place again. I had to ask more than once to make my nails straight. If you aren't one to speak up when you don't like something, don't come here or you'll leave with your nails looking like Gumby. read more

I don't like leaving negative reviews unless I feel truly wronged. I wasn't upset because they CUT my finger and I was BLEEDING into the polish. I wasn't too upset that the lady doing my manicure didn't do what I wanted (I wanted an American manicure with a design in the ring finger.. she did a French with a crappy design) What DID upset me was that the FIRST manicurist that was suppose to take me decided to pass me off to the less experienced person because I DIDN'T want to do GELS. Then they OVERCHARGED me for a $25 pedicure and $15 manicure ( told me it would be $45) then took off $5 because of the cut and not doing what I wanted. They should have comped the manicure. No point in arguing bc neither the manicurist or other man there could "understand" me (they would just repeat the same thing over and over)and I was just going in circles with them. They don't follow their hours of operation because I waited 30 minutes for them to open before giving up and leaving because no one showed up for work. They changed 65 just to have finger and toes painted, not a mani pedi. I went in with outgrown "dip" nails, and explained that although I love the dip, I wanted to go natural. I knew my nails were paper thin from all the dip I had done over the years, so they helped me pick the perfect natural color of gel polish to protect my nails until they grew stronger. I chose a color and the nail tech made a suggestion that was even better than my original choice. I love my new transition to natural nails and I thank them for taking the initiative to help me achieve my goal of going natural. I highly recommend them! read more

Let me start with the good because the good was great but please understand that this is a NEGATIVE REVIEW! I got there at 10 AM. I started with a pedicure which was amazing. So relaxing and the man who did it did an amazing job. I got the raspberry scrub and mask which smelled really good. Here's where my problem starts: I wanted to get an acrylic fill in, so I did. I sat in the seat closest to the pedicures on the right side of the room when you walk in but I do not know my technicians name. She walked walked away from me on two separate occasions in the middle of doing my nails so that she can tend to another clients nails. Why would I want you to touch my hands after touching someone else's feet?! I kept my composure and let it go. She was touch with my hands from beginning to end so much so that she jammed the nail file into one of my nails which pushed my nail back and hurt like heck! She told me it's because my nails are too long... oh ok. Then she filled my nails so hard that she made my fingers bleed. She didn't apply any kind of disinfectant afterwards. When she asked me to pay I said ok but where's the manager. She said "they're not here today. Why?" I said ok who can I speak to in their absence? So she pointed me to the technician sitting next to her. I told her and showed her that two of my fingers were bleeding and explained that I'm sure it was an accident but that this was unacceptable. My nail technician said it was because I told her to file the sides of my nails a little bit slimmer. YES! SHE BLAMED ME FOR MY FINGERS BLEEDING!!!! I was very offended but I kept my cool. All she did was offer me $10 off of my bill. That's $10 off of my $75 bill. I paid the bill and even left a tip for the technician and the man who did my amazing pedicure. But in the back of my mind I knew that I'd be writing a review on yelp and any other review site that I could find. I'm very disappointed and in pain. read more

I went here for the first time today and had a great experience. Henry did my nails and was patient with me while I tried to explain to him what I was looking for and he explain what my options were. Basically I was between getting gel nail polish and dip (which they didn't have). I wanted something that lasted a long time but I didn't want fake long nails. Henry kindly explained to me that I could try the new acrylic color powder that they have and that it lasts long. I absolutely love it and the natural look it gives. I've been to many nail salons in the Winter Garden/Clermont area - this place is by far the best! The staff is so incredibly sweet and gentle. My mom and I go there for pedis mostly, but we've also gotten great service for manis. My mom gets bad ingrown nails, and the woman was so gentle and spent so much time getting then fixed up for her. Lovely place. And the massage chairs work wonders on my back!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone that wants a good pampering. read more

This was my first time coming here and it was great! My sister and I got pedicures and my sister got her eyebrows done. The pedicure was wonderful. Super relaxing and my nails look great. My sisters eyebrows also came out amazing!! My sister had originally planned on also getting her nails done with a full set of acrylics but then decided to change her mind because she didn't want to waste her money because her job doesn't accept fake nails and she didn't want to get in trouble and the lady who I believe was the owner came up to us to make sure we were okay and if we had changed our mind due to not being satisfied. Just moved here a couple of months ago and had to choose a nail salon. I chose Friends and I'm so glad I did. It is really clean and all the employees are nice. I don't have a regular tech, so I have had almost every employees work on my feet and every experience has been good. I always call to see how busy they are before I go and they have always been accommodating. Highly recommended! read more
